The package for this toy came in plastic with a great description booklet. The booklet gave great directions about how to use it in the water and what kind of battery to use. It also included other similar toys to reference this toy to. They made sure to mention to be friendly and use rechargeable batteries and dispose of old batteries correctly. What a great green toy! As for storage in the package I wouldn't use it only because this doesn't need a storage box. If it did need a storage box then yes it would be great to store in.
