Compact vibe mini G - discreet massager discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by Oggins

My first impression of the Compact Mini G vibe by California Exotics was a pretty good one. It's small enough to be a travel companion while the hard plastic construction keeps it from being too fragile. I've literally sat on this vibe, dropped it and even submerged it in a sink full of water and it still works! It's definitely a great option for those looking for an inexpensive "friend" to tag along on trips.

Though the Mini G vibe is designed as a G-spot vibrator, the curved tip is not very pronounced. This could be a problem for those who require intense G-spot stimulation. I personally found it to work best for clitoral stimulation. This is mostly due to the ridges on the shaft, which do a great job of helping you to keep a good grip on the vibe but make it a bit awkward to use them internally. They did seem to provide a different sensation when twisting the vibe but the ridges required special attention during clean-up as fluids and lube accumulated on them.

The Compact Mini G is comprised of scent and taste free hard plastic. All of the plastic, except for the ridges, is covered in a velvety coating. That means that this is a rigid vibe so keep that in mind if you prefer softer materials.

The velvety parts of this mini vibe do provide a nice drag against sensitive areas but that can be greatly reduced with the use of a proper lubricant if you're not fond of that sensation. Lube will also help the ridged shaft to slide easily when used internally and help minimize any friction they may cause. Just remember to properly clean those ridges after use.

One more area worth mentioning on this mini vibe is the rubber O-ring that sits at the top of the ridges. I assume that it's there to reduce the ridge in between the g-spot tip and the ridges themselves. This area can also be difficult to clean thoroughly. There is no O-ring at the base of the ridges but there is an additional O-ring on the battery cap to make this vibe waterproof. Being waterproof truly helps a ton when cleaning all those ridges!

This mini vibe is shaped/designed for G-spot stimulation but the G-spot tip does not have a very pronounced curve. That made intense G-spot stimulation difficult for me. Also, the size is so small that fast thrusting was virtually impossible for me. I found it best suited for producing clitoral orgasms rather than g-spot orgasms.

The total length of this vibe is 5 1/4". The first 2 1/4" make up the G-spot tip while the next 2" make up the ridged area. The final 1" is made up by the battery cap itself. The diameter is just a bit over 1" so, you can see that this is truly a mini vibe and is very easy to hide or travel with. It's a bit on the noisy side for a mini vibe though so keep that in mind as well.

I honestly love the vibrations that this mini vibe produces. They are deep and almost a thrumming sensation rather than buzzy. They also originate from the tip which I absolutely love! That being said though, this one may not be suitable for those who prefer a buzzier sensation.

The batteries are easy to insert. You simply unscrew the battery cap on the base and slide the battery holder out of the vibe. Place your two AAA's in the battery pack before replacing it in the vibe and screw the cap back on. Easy as pie!

The controls are easy too. There is a single push button on the bottom of the battery cap that turns the vibe on and cycles through the three speeds of steady vibration and two pulse type patterns. There is no instant off button though so you will have to cycle through all the settings in order to shut it off.

I found the Compact Mini G to be completely waterproof. I submerged it in a sink full of warm water and turned it on. I then left it there for 15 minutes. When I fished it out, the battery compartment had stayed completely dry. Unfortunately, the Compact Mini G does not float and makes quite a racket when it sinks to the bottom and vibrates. Just keep a good hold of it when using it in the bathtub and you shouldn't have to worry though.

This one is pretty easy to take care of, thanks to being waterproof. If it were not waterproof, cleaning all those ridges would be challenging for sure! Since it is waterproof, you can easily wash it off with antibacterial soap and hot water. You could also wipe it down with isopropyl alcohol if needed.

Water, oil and silicone-based lubricants are all safe to use with plastic toys. If you plan on using this vibe in the water, silicone might be a better choice because it won't wash away as quickly. This will allow you a longer session in the tub before reapplication is necessary.

I found this vibe to be packaged very similar to other, traditional style vibrators. It's just a thin plastic package that pops apart. There's no distasteful illustrations or anything but it's probably not going to be suitable as a gift or storage box. Also, there were no included instructions but it isn't hard to figure out. I personally feel that instructions are unnecessary with this one. The batteries are easy enough to insert and there's only a single push button control.

I really enjoyed the quality of vibrations produced by this one. The shape/design leaves a lot to be desired though. I'd honestly like it more if it were just a smooth toy with a more pronounced G-spot curve. It's easy to use, waterproof and I love the vibrations. I don't love all the ridges though.
