Many different vibes in one - none of them quite strong enough to satisfy

This clitoral vibrator will get the party started, but is not strong enough to seal the deal. Use it for a warm-up and enjoy it, just know that you'll need to power up to another toy or another method to completely satisfy. Even so, I have to tell you that this is staying in use, at least for now. I'll be using this more times so that I'll be able to report back to you for a follow up.

Use

This is a female clitoral vibrator designed for solo and/or couples' use. It is meant to be applied directly to the clitoris and surrounding tissue to stimulate and bring a female to orgasm. It is a good first vibrator to try, because the design suggests ways to use it and the 10 patterns offer a sample of vibrations so the user can become familiar with what works best for her. Knowing your own preferences helps during masturbation and partner sex. If you know what works for you, you can help your partner learn how to please you - and after all, isn't that the name of the game?

Material / Texture

The "useable" head of this small vibrator is 100% soft silicone, rated 10/10 on EF's safety scale. It is non-porous and can be sterilized if you choose to share your toy. Personally, I do not share and do not know any other women who are into passing their vibrators around. Frankly, this is not a huge outlay of $$ so make it easy and own one for yourself. At this point, if you do not already know, I am obligated to tell you to use only water-based lubes. Silicone and other lubes (other than water-based) will harm this material.

If you put this vibrator up to your nose and take a DEEP whiff you get a very light, pleasant scent. It is hard to detect and in normal use you would not notice any odor. I did suck on the silicone and there is absolutely no taste. It is soft so you would be able to chew on this and not harm your teeth (who knows why you would be doing any of this, but it's nice to know you can!).

The head of this vibrator that actually contacts the clitoris is .5" in diameter and covered with 3 concentric rows of shallow nubs (fingers) of silicone. The head is flexible and that is a nice feature because it allows you to increase pressure and pleasure by moving the "handle" of the vibrator but not moving the head from your pleasure spot.

Women unfamiliar with using clitoral vibrators will appreciate this more than experienced users. The design shape lends itself to discovering a variety of ways to self pleasure yourself.

Design / Shape / Size

This small vibrator is 5.5" long, 3" in circumference and 1" in diameter (shaft and head). The flexible head is about 1" long and the actual tip is about 1" of that length and .5" on the contact surface. The size and shape are very comfortable and easy to grasp and control. Even with lubrication it is not slippery. I like that it is light weight. If someone sees this in your possession, there will be no doubt what it is used for. All but the most clueless of people will see this and red lights will flash "vibrator... vibrator!!!"

The actual design is very simple: a straight shaft with the head slightly angled (about 30 degrees) and flexible. It fits nicely in small or larger hands, making it a toy that you can use on yourself or your partner can use on you - small hands and large hands can both comfortably hold on to this. The shape can be called "phallic," so it will remind you of a penis, but it is not very realistic. It is only the simple shape that mimics the shape of a penis.

It is small enough to fit in your purse and can be packed for travel. You may want to put it in checked luggage if you would be uncomfortable with TSA agents seeing such an intimate item in your carry-on. It is very light and would not add much weight to your valuable weight limitations for checked baggage.

Functions / Performance / Controls

This is easy to control. There is a large button on the bottom of the vibrator that you simply press once to turn it on and keep pressing it to go on to the next level. There are 10 different patterns: 3 continuous vibrations of increasing intensity, and 7 patterns of alternating vibrations. If you find one that works best for you, you have to cycle through all the patterns until you get to your favorite. This can be inconvenient if you accidentally hit the button and move on to the next pattern. Although it is unlikely to occur, if it does you may lose the mood and find it hard to get back.

I had a hard time turning this off. Each time I pressed the button it would go on to the next cycle an infinite number of times. In order to turn this off I have to unscrew the cap so that the battery loses contact. This is easy enough but can be an inconvenience.

This is quiet enough not to be interfering during use. It will not be heard in the next room, but will be heard in the same room unless there is some reasonable background noise (TV, music).

Care and Maintenance

The EF recommendation for care is simply soap and water. Silicone can be boiled for sterilization, but this is not waterproof, so it can not be submerged in boiling water. If you are especially concerned, you can hold the tip in a pan of boiling water, but the steam may come up and burn you. If you have a long pot holder mitt it will come in handy. You could submerge the tip for perhaps a minute - not long enough to completely sterilize, but if cleanliness is a concern, it will do more than simple soap and warm water. Remember, it takes a full 3 minutes to completely sterilize - and even at that, since you can not completely submerge this item, it would not pass quality controls for sterile medical equipment.

I store the cleaned vibrator in a ziplock top plastic quart size (sandwich) bag and keep it in my night stand drawer so it is ready when I (we) are. I do this with all my vibrators. No other special attention is necessary, making it very low-maintenance.

Packaging

This comes packaged in a clear plastic protector in a simple recycled brown box. The printing is so small I do not think anyone can read it without a powerful magnifying glass. I mean super powerful. I can not even see where it says the company's name (NMC Ltd according to the EF listing). I have no other experience with this company.

What I do like about the packaging is that it clearly says that this toy is 100% silicone, and on the side panel there are pictures indicating the patterns of vibrations available. The intensity level is clearly exaggerated - as I said, it is pretty weak. Other than this, there is a lot of printing, but what it says is your guess, not mine! I just can not read it, which is not a good thing and says nothing good about the company (in my humble opinion).

Personal comments

A single AA battery (not included) is all you need to power up this "bad boy" toy. For just one battery you get a lot of power, but it was not strong enough to get me off by itself, which was quite frustrating.

Experience

This was too weak to get me off and I needed other stimulation to complete the job. This makes it an ideal toy for partner play - it starts the job, and you and/or your partner can finish the job.
Follow-up commentary
While this is a well-made small, clitoral vibrator, it lacks strong vibrations. It is powered by AAA batteries which last quite a while. If you are not seeking strong vibrations, this is for you. If you are in need of lots of power to climax, try a stronger vibe. But, for a quality made vibe, you can not go wrong with this. Since I am pretty neutral on this one, and it really is a very subjective decision, I'll stay with 3 stars.
