The RO-150mm Slimline vibe is best suited for external stimulation, particularly of the nipples and clitoris. (It may also work well for male erogenous zones, but I am not qualified to comment on that.) With its long, slender shape, it can be inserted as well, for those who enjoy internal vaginal vibrations and have a sensitive G-spot. Many will find it too slender and straight for this purpose, though. It can be taken into the bath or shower with you, and it is easy to slip into a handbag. It can be used for solo pleasure sessions or to enhance lovemaking with a partner.



On its own, it isn't safe for anal play, as it has no flared base and could easily slide all the way in and become lost; however, with the addition of the Thin Vibrator Enhancer from Evolved, which fits this vibe snugly, it can be converted to a safe and enjoyable anal toy. The Enhancer will also transmit vibrations reasonably well, so if you are inclined to use the vibe for vaginal penetration, the Enhancer would give your clit and perineum some simultaneous attention.

This pretty vibe is made of hard plastic, which is rated at an 8 on the Eden Fantasy's Material Safety Scale. It is listed as a food-grade material, hypoallergenic, latex-free, and phthalates-free. Most of the surface is very smooth to the touch, but one side is engraved with an attractively-designed oval mark containing the product name and the company's logo: a curly R and O combined in the shape of a heart.



The engraved writing has nicely rounded edges, but the oval itself is rather sharply cut into the surface, and this may be felt against sensitive areas. The biggest problem I had with the texture is at the very tip of the vibe, where there is a very small, round indentation: in the center of that indentation is a tiny, sharp projection (apparently from the molding process) which I can feel scratching/catching on my finger, and which snags on my clothing. This should have been filed down before the pretty gold coating was applied. As it is, I can't use the very tip on my body, or over bras or panties; I can only use the sides of the toy.

In addition, my RO-150 arrived with a few small scratches in the finish, though it is to be hoped that this is an aberration and not the norm.



Being hard plastic, this vibe has no fragrance or flavor.

This vibe has a long, slim, sleek shape, and is designed to look similar to a high-end writing instrument. The vibrator itself is 5 3/4" long, with the power button adding another 1/8". At its thickest, near the cap end, it is just under 3/4" in diameter and 2 1/4" in circumference; just above the tapering tip, it has a diameter of 5/8" and a circumference of 2". This size and shape is very good for those who want a handheld clitoral vibe, as the length makes it easy to hold by one end and reach the clitoris and surrounding areas with the other. It's also a good shape and size for those new to penetration, due to its slender diameter and very tapered tip. The small size and pen-like design make it fairly discreet as well, although I can't guarantee it wouldn't get your bag searched if put through airport security.

The RO-150 features five different functions, which include two speeds and three pulsation settings. Pressing the power button once will turn the vibrator on at low speed; pressing a second time will move you to high speed; a third time takes you to medium-interval pulsations at high speed; a fourth time gives you fast-interval pulsations at high speed; and a fifth time brings on very-fast-interval pulsations, still at high speed. Pressing again will cause the low-speed, steady vibration to resume, and pressing and holding for about 2 seconds will power off the vibrator. The low speed is not all that low, in my opinion, and is more like what I would consider a medium speed: maybe 2.5 vrooms, and fairly quiet at 2 bees. The high speed is fairly high and buzzy: about 3.5 vrooms and 2.5 - 3 bees. The vibrations are definitely concentrated near the tip of the toy, although they can be felt along the entire length. The rounded rubber button is easy and comfortable to press.



Because batteries are included with this vibe, it arrives with a small paper disc placed between the top battery and the coiled terminal inside the cap. You'll need to unscrew the cap and remove this disc before you can operate your vibe.



To test the waterproof feature of this toy, I submerged it in a full bathtub with the cap tightly screwed on and the vibrating motor running for a minute or so. I then dried it off and unscrewed the cap to see that there was no water inside the battery compartment. The little, black, rubber gasket seems to function well, so feel free to take this vibe for a swim! Just make sure you have the cap screwed completely on - you should be able to see it squeeze the gasket a little as you tighten. Don't over-tighten, though, or you could break the cap.

Since this vibe is hard plastic and waterproof, it can be easily washed with a toy cleanser or a gentle soap and water. It is non-porous, but the included instructions advise not to clean it with alcohol-based products, as they might damage the surface of the toy. It can't be boiled or run through the dishwasher for sterilization either, because that could warp the plastic and would definitely ruin the motor inside.

It can be used with any type of lubrication you desire, as none of them will harm this toy. For storage, I recommend either the display box included with it or a fabric pouch, as this will protect the shiny finish from nicks and scratches. Its smooth plastic surface won't hold onto lint or pet hair, so it's easy to keep clean.

The RO-150 arrives in some of the nicest packaging I've seen. Essentially, it looks like a nice pen display/gift box. The box seems to be a black fabric-covered cardboard; it has a clear plastic display window in the lid, and is wrapped in a clear plastic sleeve with a cellophane film over the display window.



One end of the lid is printed with the product name in gold, the other end with the brand name and logo. On the back is a large decal with a description of the toy, a list of its features, and an illustration showing how the batteries should be placed. It also displays a "best before" date for the batteries.



The lid opens lengthwise, and is "hinged" on one side. The interior contains a black plastic insert with a velvety flocked coating, this insert is shaped to fit the vibe perfectly, with two small finger spaces in the center for ease of toy removal. Beneath the plastic insert is a small sheet of paper with care instructions for the batteries and for the toy itself.



This box is excellent for storage or gift-giving, though you may want to cut off the plastic hang-tag attached to the top if you're going to use it for storage. If desired, you can also remove the plastic insert and store other things in this box.

I really thought I would love this toy, with its beautiful and somewhat unique design and its multiple functions. I do love the way it looks, but the only function that works for me is the low-speed vibration. I can't use the pulsation functions because they're all at high speed, which is just too intense and buzzy for my very sensitive body. I still might have kept it, because I purchased it at a good sale price and because it's waterproof, but the scratchy tip was the deciding factor in favor of returning it. Someone who enjoys faster, higher-pitched vibrations will probably really like this toy.

One other thing: If I hadn't been checking out everything about the toy and package for this review, I would never have thought to look under the plastic insert for care and battery instructions. Perhaps Rocks-Off Ltd. should consider placing that little sheet of paper alongside the insert, so a purchaser or gift recipient can see its edge sticking up.
