Bedroom Kandi happiness and joy - rabbit vibrator by OhMiBod - review by Eva Schwaltz

The Bedroom Kandi Happiness and Joy is a unique rabbit-style vibrator with music capabilities. It is able to pulsate along to the music you are listening to, but there is also a standard mode if you don’t have an mp3 player or similar device handy.

It has two motors, one in the clitoral attachment and one in the shaft. The motors only vibrate and can’t be controlled independently. Rabbit-style toys are also pretty anatomy specific so the specks will be covered in the “Design / Shape / Size” section.

How you use this is totally up to your personal tastes. I’m a female, so I used this in the traditional rabbit way with the shaft inserted vaginally and the clitoral attachment on my clitoris. However, you could use this anally as the clitoral arm will keep it from getting completely sucked in. It can’t be used for bath or shower play since it is not waterproof.

The Happiness and Joy is extremely firm and rigid. The shaft and clitoral arm are covered in silicone--making this one of the more body safe rabbits out there--and the handle where the buttons are located is plastic.

The silicone has a bit of drag, not enough to collect much hair or lint but enough drag that a nice drop of lubricant will make insertion painless. There are two nicely rounded bumps on the upper part of the shaft which aren’t that bothersome and I’m pretty sensitive to texture. There is also a seam along the shaft but it can’t be felt during use.

It’s pretty obvious what this is so tuck it away if privacy is a concern of yours. This is among the smaller rabbit-style toys I’ve come across. It is only 8 ¾” in length. The product page claims this is 4 1/4” insertable but the clitoral arm covers the shaft a fair bit so you only get 3” insertable.

The controls are very simple which is great when you are dealing with a toy with a lot of functions. The control pad is in the shape of a flower and you press each corner to get a desired function:
- The squiggly line turns the toy on
- “^” for going forward through the patterns
- “V” for travelling back through the patterns
- A music note for when you have the wireless transmitter connected to an MP3 player or whatever you use to play music
- “Off” for turning the toy off in any mode.

Using the vibrator in the regular mode, there are three speeds of steady vibration and four patterns:
1. Low;
2. Medium;
3. High;
4. Long pulsations;
5. Short pulsations;
6. Rapid pulsations;
7. Short-short-long pulsation pattern.

The Happiness and Joy is quiet for a rabbit-style toy but if there is no sound to block the noise, it probably could be heard through a closed door. The vibrations are more on the buzzy side but quite strong. Not Hitachi strength or anything but great for a rechargeable vibrator. Oh did I just say this is rechargeable? Yes. A single charge will give you three hours of play time and it only take two hours to charge it back up.

The wireless transmitter takes two AAA batteries in order to operate and OhMiBod includes them in the package. All that you need to do is connect the transmitter to the audio jack of whatever you are playing from (computer, laptop, iPhone, iPad, iPod, MP3 player, etc) and there is an audio jack in the transmitter so you can connect your headphones or external speakers and listen along. The transmitter communicates wirelessly to the vibrator and the range is approximately 25 feet before it cuts out. There is a dial on the transmitter to control the intensity of the vibrations. Leaving the dial somewhere around the middle seems to produce the greatest variety of vibration. Turning this dial to the highest point produces an almost constant vibration which is fine if you like constant vibration but I like to “feel” the music as much as possible. I’ll be talking about more musical stuff in the “Experience" section.

Only stick to water based lubes with the Happiness and Joy. It would also be good to wash before and after each use with soap or a toy cleaner. Be careful not to completely submerge it in water since it’s not waterproof.

The packaging is wonderful and is even appropriate for gift giving. The outer box has company info and some product information but is not really worth keeping. The inner box is very sturdy and just has the logo on the cover so you can still store everything in here discreetly. Along with the vibrator you will find:
- A satin storage pouch
- 12" 3.5 mm connector cable for audio input
- The wireless transmitter with 2 AAA batteries.
- 3 international adapters
- The charger
- Instruction manual
- Warranty information

The Warranty is good for one year so keep the receipt upon purchase and tuck it away somewhere safe in case anything goes wrong.

If you don’t have an IOS device, you can skip the next two paragraphs. There are a couple of apps available for this toy. I downloaded the OhMiBod Remote app from the iTunes store which costs $0.99. Honestly, I wish I could say the app is exciting but it’s really not. You just move your finger around the screen for different vibration strengths and you have the ability to create and save your own patterns and that’s it. It would be cool to have the iPhone pick up external sounds and translate them to vibration. That would be plenty more exciting because I like to have my hands occupied for other things when I’m using OhMiBod devices.

There is another app developed for OhMiBod toys called Closer ToGetHer. It’s $4.99 and I chose not to download it because it’s intended for couples but the description also states that there is a solo mode. It seems to be geared for long distance couples so if that’s your situation and you have an OhMiBod toy, I just thought I would mention this.

There isn’t a whole lot this rabbit can’t do and going through the music collection on my computer was 10 times more exciting. I was also able to connect this to my iPhone 4S and iPod. The iPod I have can only change songs through the headphones which didn’t work when I had the headphones connected to the transmitter, but if you have the iPod touch this won’t be a problem.

Any kind of music will work with the Happiness and Joy but I’ve noticed some patterns. Dance and rock music seem to produce almost constant vibrations, and pop, country and reggae music seem to have the most variety of vibration. Some songs can be hit or miss as far as vibrational patterns go. I thought Life As A Highway from Rascal Flatts would be great but the vibrations were almost constant. I thought a slower song would be boring but that wasn’t the case for the song Right Here Waiting by Richard Marx. Figuring out which songs produce the best patterns is all part of the fun.

This was my first music compatible vibrator and it was definitely an awesome experience! For those of you who love listening to music, getting a music compatible vibe by OhMiBod is highly recommended.
