Motion wave massager sex toy review

Traditional vibrator by California Exotic

Published: July 1, 2008
useful review
The Motion Wave Massager is an effective and very unique toy for pronounced internal stimulation. Insertion can be a bit tricky, but once you have it in place, the "wave" or popping nub sensation is really quite enjoyable. I just wish the vibrating motor were a bit more powerful, and that it had a clitoral stimulator.
Pros:
Unique, highly stimulating "popping" nubs; easy-to-use dial controls.
Cons:
Vibrating motor is not very powerful, sleeve is not silicone as stated on box.
This toy was definitely designed

The Motion Wave Massager is one of the more interesting toys in my collection. It provides an incredible amount of internal stimulation, without thrusting, so might be enough for those who can orgasm from internal stimulation alone. For those of us who need clitoral stimulation as well, the Motion Wave Massager can produce a powerful orgasm when used in conjunction with a clitoral stimulator.

The toy itself is hard plastic, covered with a sleeve made of Senso material, which is difficult to clean and should be used with condoms (though it is also labeled “silicone sleeve” on the box!). The sleeve is quite soft, and is covered completely in both small ticklers and very pronounced nubs on the shaft. The toy is quite slender, which is a good thing because insertion can be somewhat difficult and uncomfortable because of the ticklers and nubs. Given enough lube and some time to relax, I did not have much trouble with it, though, although it felt a little odd going in. Once in place, though, it was comfortable enough.

The toy runs on 3 AAA batteries and is controlled by two dials on the base of the toy--one dial controls the vibration and the other the “wave” motion. My biggest complaint about the Motion Wave Massager, aside from the lack of a clitoral stimulator, is that the vibrations are just really not very powerful, even at the highest setting. I definitely could not get off with this toy from the vibrations, even when used externally.

The other feature of the toy, the “wave” motion, is my favorite aspect of this toy. The nubs on the sleeve line up with the parts of the shaft that pop out to create the “wave” motion. I use “wave” in quotations, because it really is not a true wavelike motion like that of the Passion Wave Butterfly, but more a motion that causes the nubs to “pop” out from the rest of the toy. In any case, I found this sensation to be quite delightful when the toy was inserted--the level of internal stimulation it created was wonderful and produced a lovely fluttering feeling! The speed on this is also adjustable, but not by much, and I preferred it on its highest setting. The popping nubs also feel nice when used externally on the labia, but again, the vibrations on this toy were not strong enough to bring me to orgasm. With the toy fully inserted, though, and the popping nubs cranked up to their highest setting, I used a clitoral stimulator and had an incredibly powerful orgasm due to the incredible sensations this toy was creating inside me.

The Motion Wave Massager is not terribly loud, but just has a rather high-pitched buzzing sound to it. It *sounds* like the motors are really going at higher speeds, but this toy just really does not pack much power. Cleanup was fairly easy with a sudsy soap and water, just make sure you clean and rinse well around all the appendages.

All in all, I think the Motion Wave Massager is a great orgasm enhancer when you are using a clitoral stimulator, since it greatly stimulates internally. For those who can orgasm from just internal stimulation, the popping nubs might be more than enough to get you there. However, the toy is not overall very powerful, and is on the slender side, so I think this is one that is best used as an accessory than as a solo attraction.

Good review! Did putting a condom over the sleeve mute the feeling/motion from the nubs significantly, or not?
Sleeping Dreamer

In my experience AAA batteries do NOT cut it, no matter how many you pop into a toy. They just don't have the juice to produce satisfying vibrations. As far as the senso material goes; we have the senso 6 pack of cockrings and they're very solid, rigid, and hard. Good review, disappointing toy.

Cock Wrangler, a condom does reduce (obviously) the sensation from the ticklers, but not really from the nubs; they're prominent enough to still stand out.

Sleeping Dreamer, you're right, I dislike AAA's only next to watch batteries.  The Senso material, while soft and durable, also does not conduct vibration well at all!

Thank you both!

I thought I was the only one who hated AAA batteries.  Glad it's not just me.  Helpful review Dame Demi!  The "wave"motion does sound nice.

Bulma, the Passion Wave Butterfly produces more of a genuine "wavelike" motion, but the popping nubs sensation on this one is definitely not something to dismiss lightly!  It was very intense!
