Mini brute - vibrator kit by Doc Johnson - review by Sophie Starr

The Mighty Mini Brute was the first sex toy I had ever purchased. I think it is a great beginner toy when first considering vibrators and/ or dildos. It's use is mainly for vaginal or clitoral stimulation. Though if you remove the outer sleeve, you could use it as a nipple teaser. It's easy to use on yourself, but feel free to use it on someone else as well (after cleaning it, of course). It can be used with or without the jelly sleeve, though I prefer it with the sleeve on.

I really enjoy the texture of this toy. The jelly sleeve is very squishy, making it a comfortable choice for beginners. The jelly sleeve fits over a traditional plastic vibrator. The vibrator's plastic is smooth and a pearly white color. Like most jelly toys it is very prone to attracting lint and pet hair, so be sure to at least rinse it off before using it. I don't recall the jelly having much of an odor when I first received it. Currently, the toy has an extremely minimal "plastic" smell. I had to practically stick it up my nose to notice the smell; it wouldn't bother me during normal use. This jelly sleeve does have a terrible taste, so keep it away from your mouth.

This toy is small by dildo standards, but an average vibrator size. The jelly sleeve resembles a penis. It has a defined 'head' and very subtle veins and a subtle vertical ridge. The vibrator itself, is a smooth cylinder with a pointed end. The jelly sleeve only fits about 3/4 of the way down the shaft of the vibrator, which seems strange to me. Why not have a longer sleeve to allow for deeper insertion? Or why not make the vibrator an inch shorter to match the length of the sleeve?

The bottom of the vibrator unscrews to house a single AA battery. The vibrations it puts out, at maximum speed, are enough to please. This is no Hitachi Magic Wand. I feel that it's fairly strong for only running off of 1-AA battery. I have had other vibrators that require more batteries only to perform equal to this little one. It has a twist dial on the bottom of the screw-cap to power on and to control the vibration speed/ intensity. It's very easy to use. Turn it clockwise to power on and increase speed/ intensity, counter-clockwise to decrease speed/ intensity and power off. A rubber o-ring under the screw-cap gives this toy waterproof capabilities. I have had many relaxing soaks in the bathtub with this little vibrator. Fully submerging this toy in the bathtub has had zero effects on it's functionality.

Stick to water-based lubricant when using this toy with it's jelly sleeve. When using just the vibrator, without the jelly sleeve, you can use a silicone-based lubricant. Just be sure to clean the vibrator off well before putting the jelly sleeve back on. This toy easily cleans up with soap and warm water or toy cleaner. Make sure to remove the jelly sleeve when cleaning since lube and fluids can make their way under it. I kept mine wrapped in a piece of lint-free fabric and then just placed it in my bed-side drawer. The jelly sleeve will definitely attract lint.
