MiMi - discreet vibrator by Je Joue - review by Chirple

The MiMi by Je Joue is a powerful and deep, discreet rechargeable vibrator intended primarily for clitoral use. Her deep vibrations can be used for solo or couple activities. Her shape works well for all over teasing and her deep vibrations are great for all-over muscle massage.

MiMi is made of beautiful, velvety 100% silicone, and Je Joue is vocal about keeping their toys hypo-allergenic and free of phthalates. The texture is wonderfully silky smooth and feels great to touch, as well as being totally bodysafe. There's no drag to her and I haven't felt the need to use lube. The toy is pretty rigid, there's the tiniest amount of give if you really pinch her, but she's not going to bend or wiggle or squish. She's made of a "sleeve" of silicone that acts like skin over a hard internal core.

There's a very, very, very faint smell, but I can only barely detect it if MiMi is jammed up touching my nose. For science, I licked her. It didn't really taste like anything, but it felt a bit rubbery and not particularly pleasant.

The design is simple, beautiful and perfectly discreet. Her shape and size recall a river rock, she's just a tiny bit over 3" long and 2" wide at the base, tapering to around 3/4" near the tip. She's seamless and totally smooth, save the bottom bits with the controls. The name "Je Joue" and their logo are imprinted near the base on the body of the toy in the area that an internal light shines through the silicone skin when she's on. You can feel the indentation when off, though I cannot tell when she is in use.



The controls don't have any sharp edges and are pretty flush with the body. I've found the shape to be very ergonomic and easy to hold and direct. You can use her with the broad side or the more slender side against you, or even angler her so her tip is pointing directly where you want to stimulate.

While there is no way of locking her controls, I've brought her with me on a weekend trip and she never activated on her own. She's so small, she can easily be wrapped up and hidden in a purse or drawer.

MiMi is rechargeable through her charger's magnetic connection with the buttons on her base. I have never had to charge her for more than an hour and she's held her charge for days. My charger's magnets were not all that strong, so I had to be gentle with placing her while she was charging.

MiMi has two buttons, a "+" and a "-". Holding the + down for two seconds turns her on and vice-versa for an easy off. While on, hitting the buttons cycle back and forth through the vibration levels and patterns. A light on the body flickers when you've touched a button, but I've never paid enough attention in use to notice.

I've heard that people find the buttons are hard to activate and this was true for me at first; but after the second or third use I feel that they "broke in" and are easier to use now. In use, I distinguish the buttons by feeling for the raised "+" sign, it bumps up just a little while the "-" is indented.



She is fairly quiet, the first few settings cannot be heard from under a blanket and she doesn't really get that much louder.

The vibrations themselves are fairly deep and penetrating. Level one is very light and I don't find it very useful except to get to level two. Level three is where I spend the bulk of my time, with four and five to finish off. I find myself wishing she could go a little stronger, but even level four is enough to get me "done".

The pulsation patterns are nice, they go from steady strong pulse, faster strong pulse, low purr, fast purr, and one that's a fast, strong, pulsing purr. The low purr is the quietest, with the rest being a fair bit louder. They're nice a warm up.

Since MiMi is pure silicone, she should be used with a water-based lubricant, if you need one, and not with silicone-based lube, as it can cause the silicone of her skin to degrade.

She can be cleaned with soap and water. Rubbing alcohol or a 10% bleach solution can be used, but be careful to thoroughly rinse them off before use. While silicone itself can be boiled, I wouldn't recommend doing so with MiMi, as you wouldn't want to damage her internal workings.

She can be stored in the box she comes with, in a sock, in a sandwich bag, or wherever you can find that is preferably cool, dark, and dry. Just be mindful of keeping her clean and avoiding sharp edges so as not to tear her silicone skin.

Je Joue's packaging is exceptional! The first layer is a discreet dark purple cardboard box, though it has a small picture of the MiMi along with safety warnings on one side. Under this, you have the box itself, sealed in plastic before you open it.

The box seems to be paper-covered cardboard and is a dark charcoal-nearly-black. The company name and logo are imprinted in white on the top and there are two satin ribbons, presented in a bow, on the front of the box to tie it closed. It's a great gift-box, and high enough quality to keep around after that.



Inside the box is a plastic rest with an indent for the MiMi to fit into. There's a looped ribbon on the back of the rest that you pull up to access the manual and charger.



One end of my ribbon popped loose, but it's only secured by tape and an easy fix and I don't store my charger in the box, anyway. The manual has one page of instruction, with less information than this review, but does contain that one page in a multitude of languages.

The box is gorgeous and what I store her in, although my only gripe is that the box top doesn't like to close all the way unless I tie it shut.

I wish the MiMi had been my first toy. If she had been, I doubt it would have taken me so long to give toys a chance again.

Beautiful, easy to use and packs a punch for such a small little thing: I would recommend her to anyone.

This was the first toy, the first anything that brought me to an orgasm. I had always been relaxed, doing all the right things, but hands alone and the other toys I tried never provided enough stimulation. The deeper vibrations, the intensity, they finally got me there. HOORAY!

I can't say this toy will work for everyone who's having trouble finding their first orgasm, but I think she's a pretty good bet and I cannot recommend her enough.


However, for the sake of completeness, I need to address the one "flaw" I found while using her. Since MiMi is water-tight, the air inside her expands while in use. Her silicone skin is not anchored to her core and can puff up a bit when the hot air exerts outward pressure, having nowhere to vent due to the air-tight design. The pressure subsides when the air cools and the skin returns to normal. It's a minor tactile annoyance after you're done and have turned her off, I can't detect it at all in use.
