For those who want to feel the thrill that comes with wearing a vibrator out and about without people knowing it, this is perfect. However, for those looking for a serious clitoral vibrator, one could probably find a quieter and more powerful option that can be cleaned much more easily.
Small, discreet, travel-friendly, very portable
Loud, not incredibly powerful, plastic material, not ideal for cleaning
This pendant vibrator is, at its watch-battery-powered core, a novelty item that should not be taken too seriously as a sex toy. It is meant to be worn as a piece of jewelry, often so that the wearer can boldly say they have carried a vibrator around in public. As with most bullet vibes, this one is best suited for stimulating the clitoris or for giving a buzz to non-sexual areas of the body. Anyone of any skill level can use it, although it is more likely to appeal to those who are not advanced toy users and to those who are a fan of pirate-related things. Thus, it makes for a reasonable gag gift or bachelorette gift.
As an avid jewelry maker, the first thing I noticed was the chain on which this pendant hangs. It is a ball chain, similar to the kind that is used for kid's jewelry or for lamp pull-switches. The tiny balls of the chain feel like plastic, even though they might not be (and I certainly hope they aren't). The body of the vibrator is made of plastic, which is an 8 on the material safety scale, and coated with a metallic paint of sorts. There is some interesting texture with the raised designs of skulls and other pirate-like motifs, which could potentially add a bit more stimulation.
The chain is 28 inches long, meaning that many users might be able to put it on by slipping it over one's head. The pendant itself is about 2.5 inches in length and about 2.75 inches in circumference around its widest part, which might be too small for some. It is shaped like a bullet with a cinched middle, making it much more discreet than a straight-up bullet vibrator around the neck.
It does seem like this pendant vibrator would be incredibly suited for travel. It can be easily tucked into a shirt to conceal it if one does not feel bold enough to wear it completely out in the open. Whether or not it can be worn past security in an airport and onto the plane is something that remains to be seen.
For being a discreet sex toy, it certainly does not sound like one. The noise level is about the equivalent to a small electric pencil sharpener, and none of the five functions get any quieter than an electric razor. If one were to try to use this in public, it would take several layers to muffle the noise even a little bit. For me, the vibrations were weak compared to the strong noise it made. Most of the vibrations were felt in my fingers holding it rather than on my clitoris. The types of vibrations follow this order with each button press:
1. Medium vibration
2. High vibration
3. Short pulses
4. Long pulses
5. Short-short-long pulsing
Pushing the button one more time turns it off. Because the power button is located at the top, there is not nearly as much risk of accidentally turning it on as there is for other toys. However, when it is on, it will start spinning if it's held by the top jump ring (this is not magic, it's called a motor).
Getting this toy near water is an absolute no-no because it is not waterproof; don't let the pirate theme deceive you!
Storage is extremely straight-forward, and because of the plastic material and the discreet shape, it can be hidden away anywhere. If you are like me and you are disturbed by the idea of having your "jewelry" touching your bare genitals, then taking care of this toy should not be a problem. I only use it externally over a pair of underwear at the very least. When it does get dirty, a simple wipe-down with a wet cloth or wet wipe should take care of it. If you do decide to use this past the panties, be sure to first wipe it with an antibacterial cleaner or soap and water if you have been wearing it out and about. Do the same afterwards and it should be good to wear normally again. Either water-based or silicone-based lube works with the plastic material of this pendant.

Follow-up commentaryI still don't like it3 months after original review
This vibrator died on me after about an hour of total use. In proportion to its moderate power on the highest setting, the loudness seems to be overwhelming, which takes a lot away from its appeal as a "discreet vibrator". If I do get the three new watch batteries required to get this pendant vibe running again, I will make sure to only use it as a novelty that I show off to my friends, rather than a serious vibrator.
