Mystic No More!
The Mystic Wand is a nice and strong rechargeable alternative to corded massagers. It's pink and uses a great LED light system to make it work well for use with a partner.Published: December 27, 2010
Pros:
LED lights, very strong, deep and rumbly, easy to hold
Cons:
Too big for easy intercourse use, can get loud
The Mystic Wand Massager is a neat upgraded version of the Mystic Wand that is actually rechargable now. The Mystic Wand is cute and made of a silicone head with a plastic body. The Mystic Wand is about eight inches long and has a moveable head. The handle of the Mystic Wand has a nice texture that allows it to be very comfortable to hold in your hand during use.
The box for the Mystic Wand resembles all other Vibratex packaging. I always laugh at my Vibratex boxes because, no matter what I do, the boxes always seem to arrive to me with a huge gash in the side. I think this is because the plastic the boxes are made out of is pretty thin - this is just something to keep in mind if you are giving it as a gift. The instructions are located on the back of the decorative cardboard at the bottom, and the vibrator also comes with the charger as well as a nice, pretty, soft satin bag to store your massager and charger.
Like I said, the Mystic Wand is rechargable. It comes with the charger. The vibrator does come already charged which is definitely nice. The charger plugs into the little hole at the base of the vibrator - you just have to move the silicone stopper. The vibrator seems to be happily charged with about an hour - but then again, I'm not sure I ran out all of the batteries before charging it either. The initial charge lasted an hour and a half (about) for its first use, but I'm not sure that was fully charged either. The LED light on the toy does light up when the Mystic is charging though.
Controlling the vibrations is really easy. There's a dedicated on/off switch which is the lower of the two buttons on the toy. The dedicated on/off switch will turn it on and off instantly. The button above that button is the function button - it switches the functions of the vibrations. There are three basic low, medium, high steady settings then it goes into the pattern settings of which it has three. That makes a total of six different settings. If you ever want to go back to the basic patterns while scrolling through the other functions, you can just turn off the vibrator then turn it back on - it doesn't have setting memory. (That's a good thing to me.)
This vibrator makes a nice partner vibrator because of the lights on the toy. There is a little "button" above the two buttons on the vibrator (right above, still in the little white portion). This little button is an LED light that changes colors depending on the strength of the vibrations. Green is low, orange is medium, and red is strong. It also has corresponding color changes with the patterns. This allows your partner to know what setting it is on even though he/she can't feel it. The actual light panel above the control panel glows a steady pink while the vibrator is on at all times.
The vibrator isn't Hitachi-powerful, but it has strong vibrations compared to most regular vibrators. I love the fact that the vibrations are also nice, deep, and rumbly too - no surface buzzy vibrations from this wand. This vibrator is easily strong enough for almost all women and may actually be too strong for sensitive women to enjoy - even on the lowest setting. Only those who require a Hitachi's power would probably not be satisfied with this vibe.
The vibrator isn't exactly quiet. I'd say that lowest setting sounds a bit like a loud cell phone, but once you get up to the loudest setting, this could be heard through a closed door if someone was trying to listen in. I could even hear it above the music I had playing in the same room. If you stay on the lower settings, it won't be so much of a big deal though.
Something nice about the vibrator is actually that the vibrations don't end up much in the handle. The vibrations are strong, but because of the design of the toy, the vibrations stay in the head of the vibrator instead of making my hand numb.
One of my favorite uses for this was actually as a *real* massager - not just as a sex toy. The vibrations are amazingly deep and rumbly, and it feels great when used with some water-based lubricant on the back as a massage toy. It can be used really nicely to work kinks out of stressed areas since it doesn't have a cord to worry about.

Experience
For cleaning, since the head is made from silicone, use water-based lubricant. EF says that this should work with some of the Fairy Wand accessories, but I don't own any to try this out on. For cleaning, only clean the head since getting near the control panel could be bad since this isn't waterproof. It can be cleaned with warm water and antibacterial soap. To clean the body of the toy, use a damp cloth. You can keep this in the original box or use the pretty white satin bag for storage. The silicone doesn't seem to pink up lint which is great.
I'm fond of the Mystic Wand. It doesn't meet Hitachi strength, but it does still have strong vibrations that should work for almost anyone who enjoys strength but doesn't quite require the Hitachi-level. It's easy to hold, easy to take around because of the lack of a cord, and is rechargeable, and would easily make a fun gift for any woman in your life who enjoys masturbation. (However, this wouldn't work quite so well for partner sex just because of the larger size.)

Pink or black mystic wand?
-
Which do you prefer? Does the pink one get marked easily?
-
I would go with the pink one.
-
I'd go pink as well. Granted normally one should clean after use anyways, but the black would show more and the pink just in general looks better.

I Wish.......
-
I wish the major wands were all reviewed in one video side by side. Include important information such as: cord lengths (when applicable), charging information. Whether there is a variable speed -vs- high/low setting only. Head sizes, weights, noise levels. It's time someone takes this on.

Would be nice to see a full on side by side by side review

Sex and the City?
-
Is this kind of like the sex and the city 'back massager' that Samantha used? I really liked that thing.

Mystic Wand Rechargeable - Charging?
-
I'm hoping that someone with a Mystic Wand Rechargeable can help me out here. I just got my MWR today and plugged it in to charge. The larger indicator light just turned on pink and steady, not flashing/blinking as the reviews have described. After a couple hours, I checked to see if there was a charge. Unplugged the charger from the port (pink light goes off), then pressed the power button. The pink light flashed quickly and went off, the little indicator light flashed, too (green? I think?), but there were no vibrations.
Figuring it hadn't been charging long enough, I left it in for a few more hours. When I checked it again, I got the same result. Then I left it in for about seven additional hours. That's got to be long enough, I thought. Nope. Solid pink light while "charging" but no vibes when I press the power button.
Any suggestions? The only weird thing I've noticed about the vibe is that the plug doesn't go into the vibe all the way. There is a little bit of space between the MWR and the plastic/white part of the charger connection piece.
Help! (please) -

There should be the solid pink and a small green LED light when you turn it on (the lowest speed).
The cord on mine was a little tricky to push all the way in at first. When it's in fully, the white plastic part on the cord still didn't sit hard up against the MWR.
My only guess would be that it's maybe faulty... motor issue.
I had a similar thing happen with the Getaway Luxe I also got last week - the motor for the vibration was just dead.
One of the others may have another suggestion for you.
Sorry it's not working properly for you. I know how frustrating it is. ;( -

Thanks for your help on what things should look like on the MWR. I'm pretty sure this is defective.
