Mystic wand rechargeable - wand massager discontinued by Vibratex - review by Alicia

The Mystic Wand rechargeable is the new rechargeable version of the original Mystic Wand from Vibratex. The Mystic Wand works wonderfully on multiple erogenous zones, but this massager actually does work well as a body massager too. The deep vibrations feel wonderful on tired and sore muscles and can be a great way to wind down after a stressful day. Once the rest of your body is nice and soothed it's time to clench those muscles up again while you allow the Mystic Wand to send you into Orgasmic Bliss with it's amazing clitoral stimulation. That's not to say that this is only orgasmic for women, men also can enjoy the feeling of the Mystic Wand on their perineum or against their shaft, which is especially nice during oral we've found.

The head of the Mystic Wand is made of a beautifully soft to the touch silicone. The silicone has a slight give to it, it's fairy firm though so that it can massage well. It's buttery smooth and I have not had an issue with it picking up lint. The handle portion of the toy seems to be a satin finish plastic, although it almost feels like a silicone since it's so smooth and silky. It feels really nice in my hand and it allows for a good grip on the handle, always nice.

I really love the design of the Mystic Wand. First of all I love that the Mystic Wand didn't only get a makeover in the power department but it also got a fresh new look. Rather than the original black and white design the new rechargeable Mystic Wand is a beautiful dark hot pink color. I absolutely love it. I was kind of sick of pink toys but the darker pink is pretty awesome.

The handle portion is curved well to fit in my hand ergonomically and it's weighty enough that you can feel it's a well made product, but it's not so heavy that my arm gets tired from holding it. The head portion is well sized, it allows good stimulation for the clitoris and labia and also is a great size for using on muscles as well. The head pivots with a flexible neck, which is also great for both sexual stimulation and also for body massages.

The buttons on the handle are well placed and are easy to navigate through with only one hand. There is a designated on and off button and then another button which serves to cycle you through the different settings. An accompanying led light lets you know what setting you're on by changing colors throughout. Above these is another light that glows a pretty hot pink when the massager is in use. When charging this light will blink to show you that it is charging and it will turn off when charging is complete.

At the bottom of the massager there is a port that is covered with a little silicone flap. This is the charging port and the flap opens easily. Just be careful with that flap, mine has already ripped off when it got twisted around the power cord. Luckily if this does happen to you it will still stay in place, it just comes off entirely when you charge it rather than hanging onto it on the one side.

At first I was slightly disappointed by the power offered by the Mystic Wand. I was looking for strength like my Fairy Wands, and it just wasn't offering that. This was all when I was feeling it in my hand. But then...I actually used it where it's intended to be used. I learned that it wasn't really lacking power, it's just different. The vibrations from the Mystic Wand are incredibly deep and rumbly. They offer extremely satisfying stimulation and unlike the Fairy Wands I did not have to worry about them becoming too much to the point that I could feel my skin get hot underneath of them. It's just a different type of vibration offered with this massager. So while strictly speaking it's not as powerful as the Fairies or I'd imagine the Hitachi, it was extremely nice and in a word...orgasmic.

And as I said above, this works well as a body massager as well. With the vibrations being so deep and not irritating to the skin, the Mystic Wand felt unbelievably awesome as a back and neck massager. Normally we have found massagers to not offer good body massages, so this was a pleasant surprise. And now we're really NOT lying when we say it's a "massager" if our kids happen upon it. (I have told them though that this is an adult only massager because the vibrations are so intense that they would stunt the growth of children. Just a precaution to ensure they don't try using it themselves!)

Another beautiful thing about the Mystic Wand is that it not only offers steady vibrations but it also has three patterns. The first is a rapid pulsation, followed by a slower pulsation of short-short-long, and then finally the escalating pattern. This is by far my favorite. Escalating patterns are almost always my favorite, they are a great way to get the mood going and wake up the sensitive clitoris without overwhelming steady vibration at first. The Mystic Wand's escalating pattern is beyond awesome though, you can almost feel those vibrations rumble up in intensity.

And have I mentioned that this massager is also quiet? It's a massager miracle! The Mystic Wand is quieter than some of my regular vibrators, not to mention my other massagers. You would not hear this through a closed door, so if you need discretion but still want a massager...the Mystic Wand is definitely the one for you. Even on high it wouldn't be heard through a closed door and I imagine it might not even be heard through heavy covers..but that might be pushing it.

This is where the Mystic Wand gets tricky. There is no specific instructions for this massager that come with it. There is a little manual booklet but the information pertains to battery operated toys, and not rechargeable ones. The massager comes with a white AC adapter and it's easy to figure out where the charger goes, and it's also easy to figure out that the light blinks until charging is completed, but it's not so easy to figure out how long it should last or if there is a possibility of overcharging it. As for how long it lasts, I don't normally time how long I use something, or really how long I have it on what levels. I can say though that I have used it for about say 15-20 minutes at a time (estimate of course) about four times over the course of four days plus times that we've used it for short little neck massages (about I dunno...5 minutes each?) and it's lasted just fine. I recharged it for the first time last night and I don't really know if it needed it or not, but I wanted to make sure that it was nice and strong for my video review and so I charged it. So, while I can't give a definitive time of how long it will last on a single charge I can safely say it's over an hour and I usually use a mix between the escalation pattern and the medium or high steady vibration. Both time charging only took a few hours to provide a full charge.

Now, onto cleaning. The Mystic Wand is silicone so you can wash it with a mild soap and water or use a toy cleaner. It can be sanitized with a 10% bleach solution if need be. The Mystic Wand comes with it's own little white pouch that you can store the toy in. It's not the nicest pouch in the world, it's a bit rough feeling and feels a bit cheap, but it does the job of storing the Mystic Wand quite well.

Also, I did not find that a lubricant was needed with the Mystic Wand, but if you do wish to use lubricant with it, be sure to only use a water based lube as silicone lubricant could react poorly with it.

The packaging of the Mystic Wand is pretty minimal. It's just a clear plastic box and it comes with the massager, the power cord, the storage pouch and a brief pamphlet of info. As I said above though, the pamphlet isn't specific to this toy, so it doesn't really do anything. The box would be ok for storage, but it's less bulky and easier to just store it in the white pouch.

The Mystic Wand is a lot of fun and can be enjoyed both alone and with a partner. I love massager type toys in general because my husband seems to enjoy these best and loves to use them on me. The Mystic Wand offers a lot of foreplay options. You can start off using it on each other for a nice sensual massage and then just allow the massager to linger down into more sensitive areas. The different patterns are incredibly arousing and there's probably something for everyone with the Mystic Wand. It's small enough that it's able to be used while giving/receiving oral or manual stimulation and it can be used between partners during sex as well. I still prefer my Fairy Miniature or a bullet for this because they take up less space between my husband and I, but it can be done fairly comfortably.
