The Clit Tickler is, in most ways, a pocket rocket vibrator. It takes 1 AA battery and has one speed, which is fairly intense. In order to turn it on, you twist the cover of the battery compartment and off you go. The Dolphin Clit Teaser differs from traditional pocket rockets, however, in that, instead of having a hard plastic head, it has a soft and flexible dolphin-shaped protrusion. Unlike a sleeve, the dolphin is not removeable, but rather connected to the cap of the toy. This protrusion does not conduct vibration as well as the hard plastic heads of most rockets, but that is a good thing for those who find regular pocket rockets too hard or intense. The dolphin flutters nicely, and is gentle enough to be used directly on the clit, but was still strong enough to give me an orgasm in minutes.
The base of the toy is hard plastic, and the dolphin is jelly. Because it is made of jelly and plastic, the Clit Tickler is compatible with water-based or silicone lubes, though I did not find any lube necessary. The toy cannot be sterilized and may harbor bacteria, so please clean it carefully before and after each use and cover it with a condom (a tight-fitting condom does not interfere much with the vibrations of the dolphin) to protect from phthalates. Mine came in a pretty royal blue color, which is a nice change from pink or purple
The Clit Tickler is waterproof, but I only tried it in the shower and was afraid to submerge it. While it has a rather sturdy-looking rubber O-ring to keep out the water, the battery cover easily pops off, especially when you are turning off the toy. I tested it in the sink, where I was able to control my grip on it, and it stood up well to being submerged, although I did leave it running the entire time and did not try to twist the battery cover.
The toy has a good heft to it and seems sturdy enough. One warning about this toy, though, is that even though it only takes one battery it is far from silent, and should not be used when discretion is necessary.

What does material safety mean?

I noticed on the dolphin clit teaser that the material safety level is a 2..? Is that based mostly on porosity and sterility or does it have dangerous chemicals in it? Anyone know? I have read that it smells funny, so it has me wondering.

I would also suggest reading the reviews, many reviewers talk about materials and how to clean them and use them safely.
Jelly: "Jelly material can't be sterilized like silicone-so no boiling water. Since jelly toys can't be sanitized they can't be shared-unless you put a condom over them. Clean jelly toys with the warm water and toy cleaner. Don't use strong soaps on them and keep in a cool dark place." -
I believe the material safety level is based on porosity/ how hospitable the material is to bacteria. I'm sure the material safety level has nothing to do with dangerous chemicals.

Haha, I feel dumb. I figured because it was a pocket rocket, the dolphin was made of PLASTIC. And it always scared me. Now that I know it's jelly, it makes more sense.
