Getaway Pure - g-spot vibrator discontinued by Nomi Tang - review by Buttercup Green

The Getaway Pure is a traditional vibrator. It has a slight curve for possible G-spot/P-spot stimulation. It can seem quite long in length, but the shaft is slim. This should provide a very comfortable thrusting experience. This vibrator is perfect for beginners to the more advanced users. This toy may look simple and plain, but it definitely has a few tricks up its sleeve. The shaft is firm and rigid, so be careful when thrusting as the tip of the shaft can possibly hit and bruise the cervix. The bright color and smooth design makes this look non-intimidating, which is perfect for those who have never used a vibrator.
While there is not a designated flared base, the control panel acts as a safe base or stopping point of sorts. If you want to use this anally, I suggest a constant firm grip and a partner (if possible) to act as a second pair of hands and eyes. This way, no unwanted accidents will occur. Being waterproof, you can take this blue beauty in the shower or tub as well. However, you might run into some technical difficulties (more on this later).

The entire surface of the toy, besides the control panel, is covered in a silky silicone. The shaft has little to no drag, which is hard to find in a silicone toy. For this reason, I notice that this vibrator does not pick up nearly as much hair and lint as other silicone toys. It had a "new toy" smell right out of the packaging, but it quickly went away after the first cleaning. There has never been a taste to the Getaway Pure. Silicone is non-porous, latex free, hypo-allergenic, and phthalates free. Besides glass and stainless steel, silicone is the safest material for your body. It is only compatible with water based lubricants, so be sure to have your favorite out and ready! Honestly, this silicone is super smooth and feels extremely luxurious against the skin.
The whole toy is completely smooth, except for a slight seam that runs on the sides of the toy. This seam is slightly visible and can be felt with the fingers, but I did not notice it at all when thrusting. Those who are sensitive to those types of things may be irritated by the seam though.
I kind of expected the shaft to be slightly flexible, but it is very rigid. This provides firm stimulation to the G-spot/P-spot. I suspect that the shaft is made of a firm plastic and then covered with the awesome silicone. The handle/control panel is the same way. The slider for controls is also made out of a plastic.

Out of the three Getaway vibes, Pure is the most simplistic in design. The head is rounded, but it is surprisingly very easy to insert. I think the silky silicone helps provide a comfortable and easy insertion. The head is slighty larger than the shaft, but they flow together very gently. The head is in no way pronounced. This is perfect for me, as I have a problem with some pronounced heads catching on my pubic bone. I know that there is no way for this to do that, so I am able to relax and focus on the pleasure.

The base reminds me of a stingray, so that has now become this vibrator's nickname. I find the base to be a bit large to hold onto with my small hands. On the other hand, my hubby's large hands have no problems holding onto the toy while thrusting. The overall toy is pretty lightweight, so it does not make my wrist hurt after or during a long play session. Even though the vibrations do nothing for me vaginally or clitorally, I find the vibrations perfect for my tender anal tissues. It is just the right amount for me to instantly become aroused.

The shaft is gently curved to hit shallow G-spots/P-spots. Those who know that they need an extreme curve may want to stay far away from this toy. The shaft is slim, which is absolutely perfect for beginners. Advanced users may get bored of this one, but it is certainly worth a try. It does not exactly look like a sex toy, but it will not take more than a second look to understand what this is used for. The added storage pouch and slim nature of the toy makes it easy to store and hide from prying eyes.

To turn the vibrator on, simply push the power button. The power button is located underneath the touch panel. When turned on, the Nomi Tang symbol lights up a blue color. In order to increase the vibration power run your finger up the touch panel. Repeat until you reach desired level of intensity. In order to decrease the intensity run your finger down the touch panel, and repeat until it reaches the desired level. The vibrations are between rumbly and buzzy.
To switch to the patterns, simply hold your finger over the Nomi Tang logo for a few seconds. This logo is right above the power button. I do not like patterns that much, and this toy makes me glad of that. All of the patterns are just pulsating patterns. I can't tell a difference in the patterns. You can run you finger up the touch panel to make the pulsations faster, and you can run your finger down the touch panel in order to make the pulsations longer. Other than that, I found the patterns to be extremely lacking and quite boring.
If you find a setting that you really like, you can hold you finger over the top of the touch panel for a few seconds. This action turns the Nomi Tang symbol from blue to red. This means that the touch panel is now locked, and the setting cannot be accidentally changed. If someone walks into the room, simply hit the power button to turn it off. The power button works whether the touch panel is locked or not. It cannot be locked for travel though.
To insert the batteries, twist the base off. There is a small, plastic battery holder inside the battery compartment. This is where you will place your AA batteries. Then twist the base back on, and you are ready to go. This vibrator accepts rechargeable batteries, and they last for a good while. I get at least three 30 minute sessions before I notice a subsantial loss of power.
Even though the toy is waterproof, it does not perform well at all in the water. If water, lube, or bodily fluids get on the touch panel, it will cease to respond to your touch. For this reason, I do not take this toy in the shower with me.

Thanks to the nifty waterproof feature, Getaway Pure is so easy to clean. Simply wash with warm water and an antibacterial soap. A more preferred toy cleaner is always another option. If you plan on sharing with a partner, be sure to cover with a condom. Also, be sure to clean properly before switching from anal to vaginal play. There is a slight gap between the shaft and the twist off base. Fluids can easily get stuck in this gap, so be sure to be thorough in the cleaning process.
Even though it does not pick up a lot of hair and lint, it can still attract some. I suggest cleaning before and after each use. The original box is a storage option, but I much prefer the silky storage pouch. There is a tag in the side of the pouch that says "Nomi Tang", but most people won't even know what that means. Before you store it away, be sure to remove the batteries.

Getaway Pure comes in a sturdy cardboard box. The outer sleeve has pictures of the toy all over it. It also has some information about the toy. The outer sleeve is in no way discreet, but it is easily taken off and thrown away. The actual box is white with the Nomi Tang symbol in a dark red color. Unless someone is familiar with Nomi Tang, they will not guess what this symbol is. It does not scream "vibrator". The inside of the box is where you will find the Getaway Pure, the user manual, and the satin storage pouch. The bottom of the box is lined with white satin as well. The box can easily be used for storage, but I much prefer to use the satin pouch. The box is so nice that I could not bring myself to throw it away. Instead, I use it for one of my prized glass dildos.
The user manual is in many different languages. It may be difficult to read for some as the print is pretty tiny. The pouch has drawstrings in order to help keep it closed.

My husband's favorite color is blue, so you can imagine how excited he was to use this on me. He had me climb up onto the bathroom counter and spread my legs.
