Not Cute But Made Me Into A Whiny Baby!

The Cute Baby made me angry with how difficult it was to use and once I figured it out, it wasn't even rewarding! This is cheap, but save your money.

Use

The Cute Baby vibrator from Shaki Toys is a small and discreet pocket rocket. It is a good price but it made me need anger management after using it! I turned into a crab from all the frustration. The battery compartment is hard to open, the toy is hard to turn on, and the vibrations are weak. Triple FAIL. I got it to test out as a party favor for a bachelorette party. I won't be ordering any more of these. Who would know it would be such a pain!? I really can't recommend this to anyone. If you are not easily frustrated and have a lot of patience, then this would be good for someone new to toys and in need of a discreet tiny one that is easy to hide.

Material / Texture

The Cute Baby is made of smooth and transparent plastic. The plastic is phthalates and latex free, hypoo-allergenic, and food-grade material. Although safer than most material, plastic is still semi porous so it should not be shared. I got red one because I thought it looked even more discreet than the pink, and I don't need anymore stinking pink ones! You can see through the plastic to the battery inside. It is very hard cheap plastic but has no smell or taste. You really don't need any lubricant with this plastic-it is that smooth.
    • No odor
    • Rigid
    • Somewhat porous

Design / Shape / Size

With such a simple design, you would think that the Cute Baby would be more common but actually the shape is quite unique. It is shaped like an elongated and rounded off tear drop. The biggest part of the drop is where the motor is located, while the elongated body is where the battery is housed. The design is almost seamless because there are no buttons. The design is best for clitoral and all over external stimulation but it is possible that you could use it for vaginal insertion, even if you want to flip the toy around. The total length is 4". The description says that the insertable length is 3", but I would have to disagree and say more like 2". If you insert any further, the area to hold onto is too small. At the widest part the toy has a little over a 1 1/8" diameter. This is small and non-intimidating.

Like I said earlier, this toy is really discreet. It kind of looks like a mini one battery flashlight. Especially since their are no buttons, it's use is hidden. It is great for travel since the material isn't sticky and it is also waterproof. I can say that this toy is probably the cheapest one that I have that actually is waterproof. In my experience, the cheaper the toy the less true the claim of being waterproof actually is. You will see why I think this toy is water tight in the next section.

Functions / Performance / Controls

To use the toy, you need one AA battery. The shaft is like a Chinese finger trap to try to open. This is the first time I actually had to consult another review on how to use a toy! There are no instructions in the package to help. I twisted for what seemed like forever and pulled as hard as I could, sure I would break the toy. But to no avail, I still could not get it open. Another reviewer described the process of opening the battery compartment similar to opening a plastic Easter egg. That did the trick, but even that was hard! You literally have to crack the two pieces apart! Again...there are no instructions so of course I put the battery in wrong and had to do the whole painstaking process of opening it again. To save you sanity...negative end goes in first!

Then since there are no buttons to turn on the toy, you twist the bottom half. If you do it fast enough, you can actually twist it without it turning on. You have to twist slowly to find the right point where the two wires connect, effectively turning on the toy. This makes it really easy to randomly turn off the toy. When you finally do get it, the vibrations seem so NOT worth the previous hassle. They are concentrated in the largest part but are felt through the whole toy which is why I said you could turn it around and insert it that way too (by the way...never stick this in your ass, it would get lost!). There is only one speed and for me it wasn't strong enough to hold my attention for long. Maybe on a different toy, but not this one. I was able to finish but not by just using this toy. The noise level actually wasn't that horrible.

This toy worked well in the shower because of the super tight battery compartment. There is no rubber seal though, so I would not submerge this.
    • Hard to figure out
    • Weak

Care and Maintenance

Cleaning this toy is super easy. Warm water and soap is all you need. Since it is plastic you can also sanitize with rubbing alcohol. To store you can use the small package it comes in. Any lubricant can be used with this toy although, you really don't need any.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The packaging is minimal and not informative AT ALL! It has stupid phrases like "Make You Happy Everyday" and "You will never forget the time you and him!" It isn't even correct English. The plastic package is small though so I like that it doesn't take up much room.
    • Good for storage
    • Minimal

Experience

I am giving the Cute Baby 2 stars. It is hard to use, weak in vibration and just plain frustrating.
Follow-up commentary
I've started to like this a bit more now that I have found a more creative ways to pair it with another product that started to collect dust. Using these Senso Ringsfor sleeves on the vibrator, it adds some texture and makes this interesting enough to keep. This is one toy I will not be storing without the batteries though. It is too much of a hassle. Unfortunately, they drain pretty quick though.
