Not Eggstraordinary

Since this egg is bigger than what I can take from a non-turned on point, I require a bit of excitement to get this inserted. Unfortunately, that means I do a better job at turning myself on then the toy does itself. The vibrations are weak, even on the highest setting, and due to the fact that it can be heard when inserted means that in order to use this publicly we have to go somewhere fairly loud. Where the egg separates for the batteries, without enough lube, the seam can be felt.

Use

The Vibrating Egg made by Shots Media is intended for insertion vaginally, and is intended for g-spot stimulation. The best part about the egg is that it has a remote and can be used about 10 feet away. Pop this egg up inside, resting as close to the g-spot as possible, and either hand off the remote to your partner, or by yourself and click up on the remote to start the vibrating fun.

The best part about the egg is that no matter if your g-spot is shallow or deep, the egg can be inserted to the required depth, and retrieved with a pull cord.

We bought this egg for a little public play, and for one of us to have it inserted and the other to have the remote while out to perhaps a dinner.

Material / Texture

The Vibrating Egg is made of food grade, hypo-allergenic, phthalates free plastic and doesn't have an odor that I noticed at all. It's very smooth with only a little drag to it, but not much. The pull cord appears to be made of plastic coated wiring and is sturdy enough that it won't break from the pull required to remove the toy from being inserted.

The remote is also made of plastic with plastic "stainless steel" looking plates for both the buttons and the the cover. The remote has a safety-like sliding plastic cover that, when in place, will prevent accidental pushing of the buttons. There is also a single small metal loop before the clasp that could work for attachment to some keys perhaps.

Design / Shape / Size

Egg Length: 3 Inches
Circumference: 4 inches
Diameter: 1 1/4 inches

The egg has a very slight tapered tip that makes insertion a bit easier, with just the smallest circle of a seam at the tip that isn't noticeable when being inserted. About 2 inches down is where the egg separates to allow the two AAA batteries to be inserted, and there is also a smooth "washer" that is what makes the toy waterproof. The washer does rise higher then the actual egg itself and is noticeable when being inserted, but is not unpleasant. On the last portion there is about a half inch until it rounds out like the rounded portion of an actual egg, and at the very bottom is another rubber washer around where the plastic coated wires come out for the retrieval string.

The remote is about two inches, about the size of a small car's remote access control, and is rather discreet by itself. The buttons themselves are simple---a smaller power button set below two up and down buttons. Between the two buttons there is a small hole to allow a red light to be emitted when pushing the buttons to alert the operator that a button is being pushed.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Egg: The tapered tip does help insertion, but if I were to redesign this, I'd make it a longer skinnier taper to make it a little easier, or to require being slightly less relaxed/turned on before insertion.
I'd also make the rubbery washer in the middle of the egg the same as the egg when closed---that way it would be smooth all the way around. For women, or perhaps those daring enough to use this anally, who are not naturally very well lubricated I suggest using some lube for insertion to make the washer in the middle of the egg less noticeable. The vibrations are more from the bottom of the egg, or near where the egg separates, rather then the tip of the egg. This means that the egg must be inserted farther in to be effective. My g-spot does seem to be farther in my body then some women and I didn't have to worry about losing the retrieval string inside myself. Also, the egg is much bigger/wider than what I anticipated when I ordered this, and I do require being a bit turned on/relaxed to insert this. I think that if this were more narrow and more tapered that would help being inserted.

The Remote: The remote is small enough and discreet enough that when attached to a key chain it looks much like my car remote for unlocking the car doors. The safety panel that can be moved over the buttons to prevent accidental pushes is a little tough to slide if there is too much pressure being asserted. Also, the sliding panel could easily be broken off if too much force is applied. The light indicator is a good feature in case you cannot see the partner who has the egg. The farthest distance we got the remote to still activate the egg was about 10 feet away---both inserted, and not. The remote did activate the egg through our thin walls and a door within that 10 feet, but I'm not entirely sure or confident it would happen through a thicker door and wall.

The vibrations were not powerful enough to bring me close to orgasm or really turn me on much. The multiple patterns are nice, but the operator would have to remember where they stopped if going through the different variations. The first three are a weak vibrate, moderate, then high vibrate. After that is set patterns starting with a pulse, followed by two weak and a stronger, then going from weak to strong, pulsing from low to stronger and staying on stronger until repeating, strong pulses then medium then weak, and last strong with quick medium pulses.

When inserted the vibrations are not strong at all, and are fairly quiet, but I wouldn't want to wear this were there was no background noise. In a bar or concert they could not be heard at all, but sitting on the couch watching tv, they can easily be heard.

Care and Maintenance

Easy to care for. Using water and soap to wash, and I store it in a plastic bag just to be safe in my toy box and to be sure I don't lose the remote.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Personal comments

This toy did come with batteries, which I greatly appreciated since I did not think to buy batteries before the toy came.

Great job! I'm really glad to hear that the remote works so well---I hadn't really paid much attention to it before, but now that I know that I'm interested. For me it's not too hard to insert things that size from a "cold start" ----so thanks for letting us know why it didn't work for you, because it still might work for me!
