Roly ripples finger friend - finger massager discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by SimpleHedonist

If you are brand new to toys, then the Roly Ripples finger friend might be a good place to start, otherwise I would guess you would be very disappointed, as I was.

The vibrations from the bullet are very weak, and despite the weak performance, this little friend burns through batteries faster than a forest fire. The bullet runs on watch batteries, which is also another strike against this toy as I always prefer something I can run on rechargeable batteries, especially if the toy burns through batteries quickly.

The silicone sleeve has potential. It is textured, which is what appealed to me in the first place with this toy. Silicone is of course, body safe and easy to sanitize, and this particular silicone is amply firm and pleasant to the touch. The curve of the toy is perfect for g-spotting, if only the vibrations were strong enough to feel.

Unfortunately, I did not have a better bullet that was the right size to fit in the sleeve, so I have not been able to see if the sleeve could be more enjoyable with a better vibe.

The toy is very small and discreet, which would make it nice for someone in a shared living environment or for travel.

The removable sleeve portion of the toy is made from 100% silicone. Some silicone toys have an odor that is very unpleasant to me, but I was very pleased that this toy had only the very lightest of scents, and was only noticeable if I was trying to smell it. The bullet portion of the toy is made from hard, ABS plastic, and has a secure ring that makes it waterproof.

Being that the sleeve on this toy is silicone, it is highly recommended that you use a non-silicone lubricant, as silicone lubes can deteriorate or "melt" silicone toys. Being that the toy is very small, lube most likely will not be a huge issue, but if needed, a water based lube would be best.

I received the peach version of this toy for review, and when I received it I could not help but giggle. It very much has the appearance of a very tiny and unexcited "realistic" toy. All I could think of was that episode of Seinfeld when George kept saying "I was in the pool!"

This is a tiny little toy measuring: 2 1/4" in length and 1" in diameter. The little loop fits perfectly on my finger, and the length is also just right to hold on to. While finger vibes such as this one are usually designed for use externally on the clit, nipples, penis, etc., this little friend is also perfectly shaped for g-spot play, at least for my anatomy. The small size makes it perfect for keeping tucked away in your purse, pillow case, or for travel. It would be very easy to hide if that is an issue for you.

Theoretically, this is a multi-function vibrator, meaning it has many different patterns of vibration. However, I was only able to test out the multiple patterns for about ten minutes. After ten minutes, the batteries started to die on me and it only worked on one setting, the steady vibrations.

Even before the batteries started to dwindle, I was barely able to feel the vibrations at all through the sleeve. I did try removing the bullet from the sleeve and the bullet by itself did have a good bit of intensity for the short time that the batteries lasted.

For its size and power, I felt that the bullet was very loud. Holding it in my hand it could easily be heard through a door. The sound was diminished a bit when pressed against my body, but it was still louder than most of the other bullets I own.

The toy is made to be waterproof, but due to its short battery life it didn't live long enough for me to try out in the water.

Cleaning this little guy is a breeze! Due to the fact that it is waterproof and silicone, it can be washed in soap and water, and the sleeve can be boiled to sanitize. I would, however, make sure to let the bullet and sleeve dry completely before putting them back together, as water trapped between the bullet and sleeve could cause mold or mildew, which would be a very nasty problem.

I must say that considering the price point and type of toy, I did not have overly high expectations of this toy when I ordered it. Despite the low expectations, I was still very disappointed. Other than someone looking for a very basic and super discreet starter toy to try out, I am certain most users will also be disappointed with this little finger friend.
