Nothin' Fancy: The Simple and Straightforward Wanachi Mini

The Wanachi Mini is powerful, waterproof and silicone for a great price: a solid toybox addition in my book. It doesn't go above and beyond or break any molds, but it's a good, basic toy that should satisfy as long as you aren't in need of any bells and/or whistles. You may, however, want to keep other toy options handy if you don't have the longest attention span - with how straightforward and simple it is, the Wanachi Mini does run the risk of getting a tad boring over time.

Use

Solid and sturdy, the Wanachi Mini is a wand that will deliver vibration to where you need it, without any fanfare. It's a waterproof toy, which makes it lots of fun to take into the bath or shower. Good for both solo and couples' play, it's really a pretty versatile wand. While great for clitoral stimulation, it also feels fantastic all over the body, making the Wanachi Mini a go-to for foreplay and massage. Definitely a winner on the nipples. Though the power level is not quite strong enough for an actual therapeutic massage, it's definitely still a strong buzz and makes for a very enjoyable experience.

Material / Texture

Upon unpacking the Wanachi Mini, there was no smell to be smelled at all. The head of the wand is silicone, with more of a rubbery sort of texture with quite a bit of drag rather than silky smooth. That said, it is still very smooth and has no bumps or texture to speak of. The bonus of this kind of silicone is that it doesn't attract any dust or fuzzies like so many other silicone toys do, which is a welcome lint-free change in my book. The handle is hard plastic, which makes for easy cleaning and again, no worry of fuzz-attracting.

Design / Shape / Size

The design is very classic massage wand, looking all business-like in the black and white I chose. On the whole it's a very functional design, no messing around with frilly, unnecessary accents. Very simple and solid. Size wise, it's medium small; certainly small for a wand (no surprise here, it is called a “mini”), but pretty average sized for a general toy at 7¼ inches long. Small enough for super easy clitoral stimulation during doggy-style intercourse, but may be a little bit bulky for missionary.

It's a pretty solid toy with a decently weighty head. You really wouldn't want to be hit with it, it's quite club-like. The flexible head does indeed bend, but it takes a bit of hand power to do and the head doesn't stay there once you've bent it. It's nice that it's not a completely rigid toy and it has a bit of give. But don't expect to get a lot of variation in shape, in spite of the repetition of “flexible head” all over the box.

The flat head of the wand is about the size of a toonie (sorry to all you non-Canadians, but that was just what I had lying around for size comparison). This allows it to be used for both direct clitoral stimulation as well as indirect: if you press the flat head of the wand against any part of the genitals, the vibrations travel and can be felt across the whole area.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Vibration is what this toy is all about and it delivered nicely, especially for taking only 2 AA batteries. At its highest setting it's really a solid buzz. The drawback to this lovely power is that when used at the highest for a bit of time (I'm gonna say maybe 10-15 minutes) the base of the handle gets pretty hot. This won't be a problem for anyone using it for a quickie or for those more sensitive folk who'll prefer a lower setting, but you may want to watch for that if you like lengthier sessions at a higher power level.

The control for vibration intensity is a dial located at the base of the toy, very simple and easy to use. There aren't any fancy functions or modes, only a gradient of power from low to high. With these kind of controls it's easy to accidentally turn the toy on if you bump it, so make sure not to store it with batteries in, especially if you're traveling.

Volume-wise, the Wanachi Mini is medium quiet. Initially in my consideration, I was going to rate it real quiet because in use I hardly noticed the noise at all, and I'm pretty sensitive about that kind of thing. Upon objectively staring it down at my desk rather than in my bed, it does seem to be a little louder than I thought, but nothing crazy. Even at full power it's not something you'd be able to hear through a door, though if you're in the same room as it you would certainly notice the buzzing.

The waterproof test was passed with flying colours, making this a great choice for bath or shower playtime.

Care and Maintenance

Care of this toy is super easy because of the waterproof factor - there's no worry of accidentally ruining the Wanachi Mini while washing it. Warm water & antibacterial soap or toy cleaner will do the trick. The non-porous aspect of silicone makes it easier to keep clean, which is lovely. Do make sure to pay attention to the accordion folds of the bendy neck when washing because lube or other fluids could easily hide out in there.

As always with silicone toys, stay away from silicone lubes and instead opt for water-based.

Packaging

The box the Wanachi Mini comes in really pushes the toy's 5 main features (silicone “luv-touch”, waterproof, multi-speed, flexible head, phthalate free) by having them printed on 4/6 box sides. Otherwise it displays a very simple image of the product, uncluttered and free of naked women. The back of the box makes some claims about revitalizing tired muscles, reducing tension and muscle fatigue. A slip of paper is included inside the box warns not to bend the flexible head past 45 degrees and explains battery insertion.

You could use the box for storage as it is a nice small size. But because it's just cardboard and sort of unexciting, I feel there are probably better storage options out there.

Personal comments

Personally, I found the Wanachi Mini to be a fun but not necessarily orgasmic toy. It shone brightest as a foreplay toy, and was lots of fun to play with with a partner. When it came to getting right down to business, however, it failed to seal the orgasm deal for me. I'm really not one to worship vibration, and there have only been a very few toys that can get me off with direct clitoral vibration stimulation alone. So I can't hold it against the Wanachi Mini that it was better for me as a starter than a finisher.

My only real complaint was that I would have preferred a bit of texture on the head, maybe even just a few ribs on one side to spice it up. Well, and that "base getting real hot" thing is a bit of a worry.
Follow-up commentary
While I still objectively feel the same about this as I did when I wrote my review, I can't say that I've used the Wanachi Mini at all since reviewing it. There are just so many more exciting toys out there. Thinking about it now, I'm kind of wanting to give it another go but that's only because we're already on the subject. In the heat of the moment, the Wanachi Mini rarely crosses my mind and I think that sort of speaks for itself.

However! The one really great use I've found for this toy is foot massages. Very awesome on sore, tired feet and convenient in its cordlessness. I think mine is being set aside to use as a foot massager and nothing else because my feet are in love with this wand.

Wonderful review. Not actually sure I want to add this one to my 'toy box' now. That's why I so love to read the reviews first.

See, I'm the type that wants the bells and whistles, lol ;-)
