The Venus Butterfly is a great strap-on vibrator that will stimulate more than just your clit! Its high surface level vibrations send good feelings from his beak on my clit to his tail that rests just above the anal area. The Butterfly has been on the market for quite a while now and I think that it has remained there because it really does a great job at providing pleasure to advanced vibe users and those who are looking to expand beyond traditional hand-held vibrators. This toy claims to be so discreet that you could use it in a work setting but from my experience, I would have to disagree and say that the best situation to enjoy this toy in is right at home! And because it is a strap-on toy, I think that if configured properly, the Venus Butterfly would be great to use in couple play as well. It would be nice to wear this while giving your partner some awesome oral sex!

The straps on the Butterfly are an elastic based cloth, which is nice because that allows for a lot of stretch. Because they are cloth, the straps have never dug into my skin and if my play time happens to get extra messy, the straps are removable and hand washable.

The Butterfly body itself is very soft and slightly sticky, or tacky, to the touch. There isn't a residue that comes off of it, it's just a very pliable and molding toy that gives the impression of being sticky I would say. I like that feeling but for users that do not like an extremely soft toy, I would not recommend this.

The lower body of the Butterfly is slightly ribbed and its tail has tiny bumps, both of which add to the pleasure of a wider area of vibration. Its beak is a bit pointy but not in a sharp, painful way. It just allows for more directed vibration on the clit!

I like the design of the Venus Butterfly a lot! It's a bright pink which is a color I'm addicted to! I think the size is great. It's just slightly bigger than the palm of my hand which means it covers my whole vaginal area in vibrations! I love that the wings actually flutter. They don't really serve much stimulation purpose but they hold the straps to the body and they look cute!

The wire is connected securely to the bullet housed inside the Butterfly body and the wire is wrapped in a sturdy clear coating. The other end of the wire is connected to the actual controller, which is also bright pink and palm-sized. I like the size of the controller because I don't have to fumble around looking for a tiny button when I'm ready to speed things up or turn the toy off.

The toy as a whole isn't too small or discreet though, like the product claims. I don't think at all that you could get away with wearing this under your work clothes without people wondering what the heck is in your underwear! It's not the most quiet vibrator either so even if you only wore it sitting down in public, you would still get caught! I'm not worried about discreetness though when it comes to toys so that isn't a fault I would find in it.

I don't think this toy would be very suitable for traveling either. Unless you have a hard plastic case you can store it, and only it, in because otherwise the vibe tends to get little hairs stuck to it or it will get scratched up from being tossed around amongst other hard objects.

This toy has a wide range of vibration intensity! It can go from a soft hum to an almost numbing buzz with just a flick of the dial! The control is separate from the Butterfly itself, attached by a wire. There is one dial that controls the level of vibration but you can access this dial on either side of the control which is a very nice feature, in my opinion. It makes the toy very easy to adjust. The rest of the control is composed of the battery compartment. So far, my Butterfly has done very well on battery consumption! I always store my batteries outside of the toy though.

The vibe is a bit on the loud side, even when performing on a lower level. I don't think it could be heard through a closed door but certainly under a couple blankets! Again though, this isn't something that bothers me when it comes to the quality of a toy.

The straps on the toy were a bit tricky to figure out. Even after looking at the pictures on the box, I still managed to hook them up wrong. After you've gotten them figured out though, the straps are easily adjusted for a good fit. Walking around is an option when using this toy, but it wont stay entirely in contact with your clit which makes walking around rather pointless, I think. I suggest sitting in a chair or laying back in bed when using the Venus Butterfly.

It is not a waterproof toy at all and clean-up must be done with a damp, soapy cloth.

After playing with the Butterfly, clean-up should be done with a spray toy cleaner or a slightly damp and soapy cloth. The straps can be hand washed if needed but I haven't found that necessary yet.

I would say that this toy is a bit harder to store and care for. It is an inexpensive toy so I don't mind just tossing it in with my others and replacing it when I need to. It seems to need to have its own hard, plastic case, Otherwise the beak and tail can get a bit beat up. It also might be annoying for some to have to wash off little hairs that might have stuck to it before every use. I think a plastic case for this guy would solve these problems though and make the vibe last for quite a while!

I will also note that I use a lot of my toys online as part of my live webcam shows. After I finished using the Butterfly one night, I placed it on my desk near my laptop, on the side with the fan. The material that the Butterfly is made of really does not like heat and it will melt! As a result, the beak on mine has been reduced to a small nub but it's still a good toy. The heat factor is something I would keep in mind before purchase!

The Butterfly came in the standard California Exotics thin box, wrapped up in some plastic wrap, with a tiny, not very useful, instruction manual. But hey, it's what's inside that counts!
