Onye review

The Onye is one toy that’s pretty awesome from the get-go.  When it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised at the attention and care given to the presentation – inside the satin lined box, which could pass as one you’d find a necklace in, was this beautiful toy.  The toy itself is sleek and sexy hard plastic, with a silicone band that makes for a great hand grip. 

Turning on the Onye was easy: a touch of the button and you're there!  The initial vibrating setting worried me a bit, as it seemed almost too light.  Another touch of the button led to the medium “solid” vibration, which was pleasant but no better than any other clit vibe I’ve tried.  The high setting, while certainly plenty to get me off, was nothing to call my best friend about. 

Once I got into the programmed settings, however, I was sold for life.  Each has its own special way of teasing, and depending on my mood I’ll prefer any one of them, or even all. 

The first program is what I like to call the roller coaster – it starts low, trucks up to the top vibration, and drops off completely, all in the space of about a second and a half.  Then it starts all over again.  I loved that one, because just as the vibrations has been there long enough to tempt me close to the edge, it drops off.  The self-teasing potential is amazing!

The second program is simply a slow pulse.  I’ve had pulses before, so this was nothing particularly new.  It’s fun, but not particularly inspired.  The third program just may be my favorite – it mimics a heartbeat and makes me squirm nonstop.  For those who are intent on teasing themselves into insanity, this is a great setting. 

Then, when the teasing gets to be too much, the fourth setting is a perfect follow-up.  Four quick low-intensity pulses followed by a short high-intensity blast, it prolongs the teasing a bit from the third setting but then doesn’t disappoint.  The final setting, a rapid pulsing, is almost anti-climactic after the previous two but isn’t unpleasant.

Most clit toys I’ve loved have had steady vibrations only.  Programs can seem a little tedious to me at times, but these work great as a self-teasing mechanism.  In the hands of someone else the programmed vibrations can mean incredibly drawn-out pleasure.

I’ve used the Onye many times since it was opened, and can say with certainty that it is a vibe that will stay close – and with the beautiful display box, it doesn’t even need to be hidden in my nightstand drawer.
