ooooh...OW! ooooh...OW! ooooh...OW!

Tired of a dildo with a set of ears? Then hop off the bunny trail and ride the wave - a unique and less traditional dual stimulation vibrator. Sized and flexible enough for beginners, beware those with sensitive tissue because the nubby head and clit stimulation can be painful if you're not careful!

The Wave is a non-rabbit style dual stimulation vibrator. It is an angled 'S' shape, with a comfortable handle wired to a remote control.

First off, the technical stuff. The Wave is made of jelly, but it's firmer and less sticky than most jelly toys. This is a turn-off for some, usually including myself, but this toy doesn't feel as cheap or volatile as most jelly toys do. The insertable portion of the toy is 4" long and 1" across while the handle is 4-1/2" long. The rounded head at the top is 1-1/4" across and the clit stimulator, which is a curved portion at the base of the insertable shaft, is 1-1/4" across and contains the vibrating bullet. There are small firm nubs on the clit stimulator and the head of the toy - 16 on the head and 3 rows of 5 on the clitoral portion. It is wired to a remote control that has and up and down arrow and a 4 light spectrum to show which of the 4 speeds it's currently on. The bottom of the remote pack unscrews so that you can insert the 2 AA batteries that it runs off of.

When it came out of it's rectangular plastic packaging, it did have the typical jelly fruity smell but a few good washes got rid of most of it. It is also entirely waterproof which is a plus for anyone that might want to use this toy in a bath or shower. The noise from this toy is moderate, meaning you could hear it through a closed door but not over a stereo and closed door. Between the noise and the shape, this toy is not built for discretion as it is fairly large and not designed discreetly at all - you'd have a hard time explaining this as anything but a sex toy if someone were to find it.

This toy is clearly designed to be a dual stimulation vibrator. It doesn't work for much else because the vibrating element is in the clitoral portion and cannot be comfortably used on the clit without the insertable shaft getting in the way. The head isn't ideal to be used as a clit stimulator either because the vibrations don't travel well in this toy and can just barely be felt in the head. The vibrations are however, on the strong side and should be suitable for most people unless you only enjoy severely high speeds.

When using this toy, I recommend only water based lube - I prefer not to use silicone lubes on jelly products because it's such a volatile material that it doesn't seem worth the risk to me. You will want to lubricate this product when you use it though, unless you are already really well lubricated on your own. The jelly has a lot of drag against your skin and it's really not comfortable to insert on its own.

Because of it's fairly narrow size, it might not be a great toy for those with more experience. Once the shaft is inserted, it's easy to control with the handle, either by yourself or with a partner. It's flexible enough to move around to thrust deeper, use the shaft to hit your g-spot, or rub the clitoral portion of the toy against, well, your own clitoral portion. The design on this toy was clearly well thought out to meet the needs of women in many shapes and sizes with its flexibility and large clitoral stimulation area.

The largest drawback to this toy is the harshness of the little nubs on the clit stimulator. If you rub it up against yourself too hard, too fast, or without enough lube, it can be painful! This unfortunately means that just when it starts to feel really good and you apply a little bit more pleasure, it hurts! And as much as I like pain, I don't particularly enjoy it on my clit. This is a huge downfall for me because as much as I enjoy being warmed up for this toy, it doesn't get me all the way there because I can't use it too strongly up against me. For those less sensitive or that enjoy rougher play, however, this product should work well.

I clean this toy with soap and water and store it separate from other jelly toys, as they can melt one another. It should also ideally be stored in a toy bag or ziploc bag because the jelly is a little clingy when it comes to fuzz, lint, and hair.
Experience
I wish this toy had a less harsh detail on the clitoral stimulator. The hard nubs are what stop my orgasm from happening every time. Up until the point where it becomes painful, however, it's a great and well designed toy. I would recommend it to those who just haven't found the right rabbit vibe to fit their body because this one is a little more flexible and forgiving if you can get past the jelly material and the hard nubs.
Follow-up commentary
While this toy is still interesting and unique, those little nubs haven't gotten any softer. I still want to like it, but I don't think it will ever fit me quite right.
