Pearl butterfly vibrator by California Exotic

I was on pins and needles waiting for the Pearl Butterfly Vibrator to arrive, and when it finally did, I wasn’t disappointed. The Pearl Butterfly Vibrator is quite an impressive toy, and as soon as I got a look at it, I couldn’t wait to get it out of the package and into the bedroom.

The Pearl Butterfly is a standard dual-action vibrator and is one and five eights inches in diameter with a six inch insertable shaft. It features a rotating shaft with pearl-like beads for internal stimulation and, as the name suggests, a butterfly shaped clitoral vibrator. Each function (rotation and vibration) has five settings and is easily controlled by sliding a button up and down. The button controls are conveniently located on top of the base.

The vibrator requires three AA batteries, which are easy to insert; however, the battery compartment doesn’t close very securely, and I accidentally opened it several times during use. The batteries stayed put, but it was slightly annoying to have to stop the action in order to put the toy’s base back together.

This is definitely a sizable toy, especially in terms of girth. I’m a petite girl, so it took a little patience and a lot of lubricant to fully insert the shaft, but I’m happy to report that it was worth the wait. The pearls and rotating head provided sensations that were great but not overwhelming, and I really appreciated the level of control the Pearl Butterfly gave me.

I’ve found that vibrators with fewer settings tend to be too aggressive, but I ran into no such trouble with this toy: instead, I was able to increase the speed and intensity of the rotation by degrees. In short, the insertable portion of the Pearl Butterfly gave me exactly what I wanted, exactly when I wanted it.

Unfortunately, the clitoral stimulator didn’t deliver quite so well. The butterfly is poorly positioned, and I had to push it down and hold it in place in order to get any stimulation at all. This was distracting, and it lessened the intensity of the vibrations, which didn’t pack quite the punch I was hoping for to begin with. Even at the highest setting, they weren’t strong enough to push me over the edge right away, which I found frustrating.

I was able to orgasm eventually, but it wasn’t particularly strong and took much longer than I would have liked. The Pearl Butterfly will get the job done if you dislike or don’t need very intense clitoral stimulation, but for a toy of this size, I expected a lot more in the vibration department.

In terms of noise level, the Pearl Butterfly is satisfactory though not discreet. The vibration is relatively quiet, even at the highest setting, and can be easily muffled by a blanket. The rotation, on the other hand, is quite loud, particularly at the higher settings. It can be heard through a closed door even when under a blanket.

Made of rubber, the Pearl Butterfly is easy enough to get clean with water and toy cleaner, but it won’t stay that way for long. It picks up enough dust and lint to require a rinse off before each use. Also, it doesn’t have a pleasant odor, even after cleaning.

In summary, this toy provides exceptionally stimulating and enjoyable penetration, but depending on your taste, the clitoral stimulation may leave something to be desired.
