Petite but not so Discreet

The Petit Ami is suitable for clitoral teasing, but does not provide enough power to push you over the edge. It is feminine yet elegant in it's design, and great for anyone looking just for a warm-up toy.

Pros

The Petit Ami is petite indeed. Coming in at 3" length and 1.75" width at it's widest point, the Ami is presented nicely in a lightweight flat egg shaped form. The design is feminine yet elegant, with white floral stamps around the top of the toy. My Ami is chrome colored, but it also comes in black and pink with the same floral stamp prints.

While I wanted to make my little Ami work for me because it's just so cute looking, I couldn't. Instead after about five minutes of continuous cellphone type vibration, I felt the power start to wane and got frustrated. Due to my frustration I threw Ami across the room, where it buzzed against my hardwood floors.

I was annoyed not only because I had to get up and use the rubber push style power button to turn it off, I was also annoyed because I then realized just how loud it really was after taking my headphones off. Everyone has a masturbation song, mine just happens to be Closer by Nine Inch Nails. Despite the small size, the Petit Ami is not so discreet when it comes to noise. The loudness resembles an electric shaver or hair trimmer, and can be heard through the covers and possibly through the door.

I wondered if maybe my rechargeable AAA battery just wasn't charged fully when I initially tried testing out the Ami, but after putting in a fresh AAA battery I was faced with the same problem. The vibrations just are not strong enough, not even with the cool pulsating trick I tried out. (Simply press the power button halfway down when in the off position and release like a tapping motion.) I learned quickly that the Ami drains batteries when not in use, so removal of the battery is necessary. This can be done by opening the snap in cover. It's similar to the old walkman and boombox radio covers.

I won't place the Ami in the bottom of my toy box just yet though. Despite not being able to get me off, I found that it is a wonderful toy to use for clitoral teasing. It's small enough to place in your panties and nuzzle its semi vibration pinpointed tip to your clit, and go about your daily household chores. Such as doing the laundry. Using it in this fashion made me feel naughty and a little bit nice, while teasing me, but never quite getting me off.

Eden Fantasys labels the Ami as being made of plastic. This is both true and false, the Petit Ami is actually made of ABS, a type of plastic common with hard sex toys. While it cannot be sterilized, it is non porous, phthalates free, and can be easily cleaned by wiping down with alcohol. Ami is afraid of water, and isn't waterproof, so make sure to use some type of wipe or washcloth when cleaning rather than submerging it if you decide to clean it with antibiotic soap and water.

While you can use the Ami with silicone, water, and oil based lubricants I wouldn't suggest it. The battery compartment isn't seamless and lube can leak into it, ruining your toy. Not to mention the plastic is already nice and smooth.

The Petit Ami should only be used externally due to its size. While you can slightly stimulate internally if you so dare, it's simply too small to keep a grip on unless you place it in a condom. Doing this decreases it's already weak vibration. The choice is yours. I'm off to finish the laundry.
Follow-up commentary
It seems that the Petit Ami loses power despite fresh batteries over time. Either that or my clit has grown less sensitive and needs a powerhouse to even feel slightly good. It's a shame because I loved the design on the Ami but it's been collecting dust due to the lessening vibration issues.

Wow, throughing toys is a little hard core but I understand the frustration of not being able to get off, lol.

Yeah, throwing things can be a little hard core, but it made me feel better. Sort of like, "Fine, eff you too then!" motion and stress relief. I think I was just stressed that day anyways.

Too bad it's not powerful, but it looks like it could be fun wearing around the house. I'm surprised it's so loud!

Wait, do you use the side with the battery cover against you? That's.. stupid.
  • Contributor: Pumpkin Lady
    @Adriana: LOL. Agreed.
    And nice review Juliettia!
  • Contributor: Juliettia
@Adriana; I agree that it is stupid, I did find that the battery cover side held more power for some reason :/.

Ew. I read "cellphone vibration" and knew that was it.
