Petite, pink, and oh-so punchy!

The Mystic Wand is a unique and fun little massager with a lot of power and bold pink color. While it is certainly not the *most* powerful of massagers I've experienced, it has deep vibrations and enough strength for me (the clit-o-steel/power-slut girl!). The materials are easy to care for, durable, and user/body-friendly. Combined with the compact size with six vibration patterns, a flexible neck, and easy to use controls, and you have a seriously versatile vibrator to suit many tastes.

Use

The Mystic Wand is a massager/wand style vibe made for clitoral stimulation. Unlike many others of its kind, this is not a back massager gone pervy. It was designed by Vibratex (makers of the somewhat legendary Rabbit Habit) specifically as a punchy clitoral vibe. The handle combines with a flexible neck and a rounded head to make this an easy to use clit vibe, ideal for anyone who likes more diffused, powerful vibrations. That, would be me! Of course men can use the Mystic Wand to stimulate the sensitive underside of their cock-heads, perineum (the smooth area between a mans testicles and anus) or the balls. My partner is a huge fan of masturbating with my wand vibes on his dick.

Of course you can certainly use it to soothe aches and pains anywhere on the body. Your stiff neck, aching back, etc. Much like other massagers it is quite adequate for this purpose, in addition to more erotic applications.

Material / Texture

The Mystic Wand is made from a wonderful and body-safe combination of silicone and plastic. This means the whole toy is nonporous, hypoallergenic, latex-free, chemical-free (phthalate, parabens etc), odorless, tasteless, and generally fabulous material-wise. It's the perfect pick for those who are conscious, or particular about what the heck is in their sex toys.

The oval/ball shaped head is covered in a very supple, matte silicone with just a bit of squish to it and some grooves that adorn the base of the head (more on the grooves in the design/shape/size section below). The body/handle portion is a hard plastic that also has a matte finish that gives it a nice grippy feel. Both the handle and the head of the Mystic Wand feel silky smooth, but velvety at the same time. There is nothing severe or intimidating about the texture of this toy, making it perfect for folks of all experience levels.

Design / Shape / Size

In my opinion, the Mystic Wand is definitely one of the prettiest wand-style vibes available! The design is is similar to most massagers with the ball shaped head and basic, straight handle. The head is mounted on a flexible neck, and has little grooves around the edge. These grooves are pretty gentle actually, and not as severe (or sharp!) as other grooves on massagers I've encountered. They feel very nice and add some subtle friction that I really like. When lube is involved, the grooves become less noticeable.

The handle of the Mystic Wand is shaped in a user-friendly way, with some curves and indents that make it easier to grasp in my hand. It is difficult to describe, really, but the control 'panel' is raised a bit. This creates a place for your fingers to grasp it very naturally during use. I liked this aspect quite a bit, and though it wasn't something I'd even note about the toy by just looking at it, in practice it was very useful.

Now the cool and different parts of this toys design are the super compact size, and the color. Typically massagers aren't so cute, elegant or pretty even (with the exception of the Acuvibe Ebony of course!). The Mystic Wand is a very appealing bold, pink/magenta color. It is vivid and bright enough that it seems more grown-up and elegant than a lighter, soft pink would.

The size is petite, in the world of wand-vibes anyway, at about 8-1/4" long and 1-3/4" around. This makes the Mystic Wand very partner-sex friendly and easy to maneuver. The handle is plenty long enough so you can get a good grip while you play in a variety of positions. I have no problems fitting this toy in between my partner and I in missionary, though of course it is easier when he is leaning back somewhat. It worked very well in several different positions for us, doggy style, me on top leaning back a bit, and of course during sex involving props such as the Liberator Ramp/Wedge with my guy on top (especially in these!).

The size also makes it perfect for use in conjunction with other toys. I have no issues with wielding this vibe while I am holding a dildo in my other hand. It is very lightweight as well, and while I can easily manage heavier vibes (the Magic Wand specifically) this could be a big pro for many.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Mystic Wand has two buttons located halfway up the handle and a lovely bright pink light. The light comes on when it is running, and during charging as well. The light is kind of neat, and illuminates a small area with a nice, pink glow during use! There is also a light that indicates a change in pattern, steady glow in different colors for low/green med/orange high/red and a pulsing light for the assorted patterns. Fast pulse (bzz bzz bzz), pulse & steady combo (bzz bzz bzzzzzzz bzz bzz bzzzzzzz), and a 'roller coaster' escalation from low to high. So there are three steady levels of vibrations, then three different patterns.

One button is a dedicated off switch, so you can just turn the vibrations off without cycling through the patterns, which is great. The controls for this are certainly fancier than on most massagers, but are easy to use and figure out.

All the vibrations are located in the head of the Mystic Wand, with nothing in the handle. This is really nice and avoids the strong buzz numbing your hand out during use.

Overall the power is similar to 'low' on most massagers (Magic Wand, Accuvibe, etc.) and high on strong bullets or 'smoothie' style battery operated vibes. The vibrations are deep, with a nice amount of rumble, especially on medium and high. Though I feel the slightly more subdue vibrations will make it more suitable for a wider variety of people, since it isn't blast-your-cit-off strong. I would like *more* power, I will say that, but I can never have too much buzz.

The pattern functions are pretty cool as well, especially since it isn't a common feature on wand vibes. I like that they are basic and not terribly fancy or complicated. I don't like it when there are too many options to choose from, as I don't want to be thinking too much when I'm getting myself off!

Care and Maintenance

The Mystic Wand comes with a white, velveteen drawstring pouch for storage. It fits in just right and cinches up nice and tight so it's secure, safe from sight if needed, and away from lint and dirt! I love the pouch and always appreciate storage that's included with my toys, it is incredibly helpful.

The silicone head can be washed with regular/antibacterial soap and hot water for regular cleaning. It can also be wiped down with a 10% bleach solution if you need or want to sterilize it. This vibe is NOT dishwasher safe OR suitable for boiling to clean. Don't do that. The handle can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and a bit of soap if needed, or sterilized with alcohol as it is hard plastic.

As far as lubricants, avoid silicone-based formulas as they can react badly with the silicone head and possibly damage the toy. Water-based lubes are a good pick, though oil-based is also compatible with silicone.

The Mystic Wand is pretty easy to take care of. It is splash proof (but not submersible) which makes cleaning it so much simpler. As long as the charging port it sealed with the attached white silicone plug, it can get some water on it.

Packaging

This massager comes in a clear plastic box, with some simple elegant graphics in gold and red. The wand, drawstring pouch, and AC adaptor are all packet neatly inside. It's pretty and minimal. The box could certainly be used for storage, though many may prefer the included pouch.

There's also cardboard insert with instructions written on the back. Unfortunately the instructions are for other toys in the Vibratex line...not the Mystic Wand. There is material care info that applies, but a sad lack of charging instructions.

(So the following is what I has figured out from the forums, plus trial and error regarding the charging.)

So I went onto the EF forums to see what others did for charging. The Mystic Wand comes with a charge, so from what I understand one doesn't need to charge it for a solid period of time prior to use. It doesn't take very long to charge up after it's died, in my experience, a few hours will give you a lot of play. The battery does run down faster if I've been running it on high the whole time I've been using it though. Some toys can be overcharged, if you leave them plugged in, and since the Mystic Wand doesn't include any info on this, I will be treating it as though it could overcharge. Just to be careful! It is a rather expensive toy and I'd like to keep it in good shape and not screw up the battery.

Experience

I really like this wand! I was hesitant because it seemed a tad expensive, but I convinced myself I needed a bright pink massager. I have a thing for wand vibes, and bright colors, so it seemed logical. However that did mean I was nervous about not liking it, that oh-fuck-what-if-I-hate-it anxiety I sometimes get with more pricey toys. But it's pretty damn cool. It actually has enough power to get me off, unlike 75% of the vibrators available (being picky is not cool sometimes!). As far as the million-dollar question, does it compare to THE Magic Wand? Power-wise, not quite. The high setting is nearly as strong as "low" on the Magic Wand, which isn't half bad if you ask me. Plus I think it just looks fun and cute, but modern and sharp at the same time. And as I've said before, I am a *HUGE* sucker for aesthetics. Huge. Really.

I also really like that it's compact and has pattern options (without being overwhelmingly techie-advanced confusing!). The pretty lights are neat too. They make is easy for me to see what setting it's actually on, if my brain has left me momentarily, which is excellent.

It got my partner's approval, which consists of him grabbing it from me and pressing it on his cock for a while, then saying 'hmmm, nice, not too bad' (which means he loves it) and I then snatch it back from him, grumbling and trying to find that sweet spot again.

You can see a whole bunch of photos of the lovely Mystic Wand over on my blog.
