Poppin' Pocket Rocket

Eh. The Pocket Rocket Junior is a toy that could be made better and smarter. For the price, I can still find a better toy. There are better toys. Move on.

Use

The Pocket rocket junior is, well, a pocket rocket. This little guy is more than able to fit in your pocket or purse, making it a great traveling companion! It's that little something you can take on the go with ease. The Pocket rocket junior may not be the strongest or prettiest toy on the market, but it's a cute addition to a beginner's collection. More advanced users will probably find nothing new or fancy about this one (other than it's nice blue color, perhaps).

The Pocket rocket junior is designed for external stimulation. It can be used on erogenous zones such as the nipples, clitoris, and stomach. It can also be used between partners during some sex positions. This toy is not designed for insertion of any kind. Given its very small design, the Pocket rocket junior should never be inserted anally.

The Pocket rocket junior is best suited for beginners and those who have average to high vibration sensitivity. It's technically waterproof, but you have to be careful using it in the shower. It's very easy to take the toy apart when turning it off. This toy isn't that loud, so it can be an option for those who live with others.

Material / Texture

The Pocket rocket junior is made of plastic. Plastic ranks an 8 out of 10 on the materials safety scale. Plastic is non porous, so bacteria won't thrive inside the toy. It's also hypoallergenic and made of food-grade materials. There is no overt odor or taste to the Pocket rocket junior.

This little pocket rocket is smooth. It should slide easily where you need it, but if you want an easier glide, you can always add a drop of lubricant. The plastic is also transparent, so you can see inside the toy. It is hard and in no way bends or flexes. The Pocket rocket junior will stay where you press it.

Design / Shape / Size

The Pocket rocket junior is a junior indeed. The toy is only 2 inches long, making it perfect for travel. It's not designed for external play, so it's quite cute and non intimidating, making it perfect for beginners. The Pocket rocket junior also has a cord on the bottom of it. It is large enough to fit over some wrists. The cord could help you from fumbling the toy (or if you do, it doesn't fall and then roll off the bed).

This little guy may cause your hand to cramp depending on how long you use it. You are best off holding it at its base. The base has ridges in it to help you hold on to it. Here's how it looks in your hand.

The Pocket rocket junior is discreet in terms of noise. It is about 2 Bees. You shouldn't be heard beyond a closed door. Background noise like a fan or the television will keep you from being heard, even with the door open. If you live with others, you can always take your toy into the shower.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The functions on the Pocket rocket junior are pretty basic. The toy works by turning the base. Turning the power on puts the toy on its only setting. This setting has a moderate strength of about 3 Vrooms. 3 Vrooms is generally intense enough to work for the average user or more sensitive people. The vibrations are more on the buzzy end as opposed to rumbly.

While the Pocket rocket junior is waterproof, one small mistake can ruin your toy. This is because turning on your toy and removing the batteries require the same twisting motions on the base. If you go to turn your toy off, you can accidentally open it. This can kill your toy if you're in the shower. It's just good to be away of this.

Also, in order to make this pocket rocket even smaller, it requires one N battery. The good news is that the battery is included and lasts a while. The bad news is that N batteries are not so common in households like AA and AAA batteries are.

One more flaw this toy has is with its circuitry. Sometimes the toy randomly shuts off. In order to turn it back on, you may have to tap it or wiggle it around a bit. I think this is because the battery doesn't connect with the nodes as well as it should. This can be a big nuisance if it turns off on you in the heat of the moment.
    • Easy to use
    • Not enough variety
    • Weak

Care and Maintenance

Care is pretty easy for the Pocket rocket junior. Soap and water, toy wipes, or toy cleaner are all good options. Take care to clean the base if fluid collect where the ridges are. The cord could also get debris on it, so spraying it with some cleaner or a wash will work well. The Pocket rocket junior does not collect lint.

Both silicone and water based lubricants can be used with this toy.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The packaging for the Pocket Rocket Junior couldn't be any more minimal. It's a clear plastic bag that the toy is in. Because it is clear, it is not at all discreet. The packaging is not designed for long term storage. This could make a potential gift if you want to get different colors for different friends. This could also work as a stocking stuffer. I think there are better toys are out there, but this one is... fair.
