Pretty Purple Pleasure Eater

The Mini-Miracle Scoop should have been the perfect addition to my Miracle Wand, but it was plenty short of miraculous. The design felt wonderful to the touch and was as gorgeous as an orchid, but as far as function went, it fell quite short of my expectations. If you like light touches on your clit and tantalizing tickles on your nipples, the Scoop might just work well for you. It's an inexpensive product, so try it if you have any inkling it might be up your alley. It just wasn't up mine.

Use

This attachment is meant for use with My Mini-Miracle Massager Wand. I own the electric model of the wand, and we had a brief but smoking (literally) love affair.

The Mini-Miracle was my pre-Hitachi wand, something to ease me into that legendary power tool. Since I wasn't used to plug-in, wand-style toys at all, the Mini-Miracle was a little too intense for me and was not ergonomic for my uses. I purchased this lovely purple, translucent attachment in an attempt to diffuse the Miracle's vibrations. I also wanted it to provide a soft, temperature-neutral buffer between my vulva and the hard, hot-headed tip of the wand.

If the Scoop was sized to fit the Hitachi, I'd never leave my house again. As it is, the Scoop barely fits onto the product for which it was designed. It slides around when the vibrations are kicked up to the higher level, which as you can imagine is incredibly frustrating when things get intense. I've sworn at this combination of toys more than anything else in my toy chest COMBINED.

That said, if positioned correctly and held steadily during the lower setting, the Scoop provides a great nubby texture that feels scrumptious. The sensations are even lovelier when you douse the attachment in lube. Unfortunately, I find it difficult to enjoy the Scoop properly, with the curvy pointed tip held to the clit and the rest cupping the vulva, because the spring on the wand isn't stable enough to be held with the end facing down. Instead, I have to lean back and press the wand with the Scoop point up, so I miss out on the targeted clitoral stimulation.

Beginners to wand vibes might enjoy how the vibrations are diffuse and not as intimidating as rubbing your genitalia with the super-hard plastic of the Mini-Miracle Wand.

Material / Texture

The Scoop is constructed of purple PVC, so it is porous and can't be sterilized if you would like to practice safer sex but use it with many partners. It is firm but has enough "give" that it can be pressed hard on areas you'd like to stimulate and somewhat cup the vulva/nipples.

The hundred-odd nubbins that cover the surface of the Scoop provide plenty of extra pleasure. They feel lovely on the nipples, breasts, and the entire vulvar area. Men might even enjoy the Scoop cupped against their balls.

The texture is benign enough for beginners but titillating enough for advanced toy collectors as well.

I dislike the odour of the Scoop. It was particularly potent when I opened the package and has dissipated over time, air, and multiple washings. Now it smells faintly of cheap plastic doll heads, creepily enough. The smell no longer disgusts me, but I'd prefer my toys to smell of vague nothingness, leather, or rubber--not chemicals.

There is no strong taste to the Scoop, but I don't really taste it very often. For the sake of research, I gave it a good sloppy French kiss and found it to be mildly chemical and slightly bitter.

Design / Shape / Size

There are a few design flaws that could easily be remedied. The Scoop doesn't like to suction to the wand's head, which seems like a death sentence for the attachment. The higher setting on the wand gets the Scoop scooting around in semicircles.

The actual Scoop shape cups my vulva perfectly, as though it was tailored to my very own vagina. This is one aspect I wouldn't change--it's flawless. There are over a hundred nubs about the size of a fine-point felt pen tip. They are pliable yet firm enough to provide great stimulation.

This is absolutely a sex toy and not discreet at all. It looks like an attachment. If you're known for back problems and nerve/muscle pain, in a pinch you could play it off as a non-sexual massager. But the Scoop really does look like a vulva, and it's purple. It's quite beautiful and reminds me of my favourite orchid.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The vibrations are obviously diffused when you use the Scoop in conjunction with its partner, the Mini-Miracle Wand. However, I've found the sensations to be much too muffled, perhaps because of the 4 1/2" length of the Scoop--that's a long way for the vibrations to travel to your clit.

I like the Scoop for tantalizing the nipples and breasts and for light foreplay to warm up the vulva. I don't find it strong enough for me to easily orgasm, but that's not always the point, is it? Teasing can be fun, especially in a delightfully torturous manner. My partner and I play that way, as I am submissive and he is a top. For those uses, the Scoop put out.

The toy is noisy because it is attached to an electric wand. Whenever you inevitably press down in the heat of arousal, the sound intensifies and could definitely be heard through a closed door.

I have not tried this toy in the water because I own an electric version of the Mini-Miracle Wand. From my use of the Scoop with liberal amounts of water-based lube, I doubt that the wand and Scoop would stick together in larger amounts of water. The Scoop slides around, even on land.

Care and Maintenance

After each use, this PVC attachment should be washed in hot, soapy water with antibacterial soap. Giving the Scoop a good scrub-down before first use is recommended; the smell of the material can be overwhelming. Be certain you wash thoroughly each time, as there are many tiny grooves and nubs where germs may lurk.

The Scoop doesn't need to be babied or segregated from your other toys or lubes. It's an equal opportunity toy, but I find that little animal hairs/lint balls/etc. magnetize like mad. If the Scoop works out as well for you as it did for me, you could probably use it attached to the wand as a lint roller.

Packaging

The Scoop attachment came in a clear plastic box, with "sold as a novelty only" slapped all over it. The actual, useful information was adequate and minimalist.

Because of the sharp edges on the plastic box and the somewhat cheesy "HEY, I'M A SEX NOVELTY!" look to the packaging, I don't store it in the box. It is inconvenient to remove when you want to grab for it, and the Scoop is so small and low maintenance that tossing it into your toy box or nightstand should be more than sufficient.

If someone was open sexually and already had the Mini-Miracle Wand, this could certainly be given as a gift. The shape of the box would be very easy to wrap in gift paper.
