If this vibrator were a food, it would be a saltine cracker.

Sure, it's a nice simple staple for your toybox, but it probably will not wow you or be your favorite. Pure's only transgression was its inability to stand out in my mind. It's simple, tasteful, and... a bit lackluster.

Pure is a hard plastic vibrator with a smooth, velvety finish. It is of fairly average size, at six inches long and 1-1/4 inches in diameter. The shaft is straight and tapers slightly at the end for insertion, which I found to be very easy. The battery compartment is also sealed off on this toy, making it suitable for use in the water—a definite plus in my book.

Pure is made by the brand Evolved, meaning it comes in a metal tin with a clear plastic lid that can be used for storage. As someone with a storage problem, I found the tin to be very useful in helping to keep my collection organized. The tin is fairly shallow, so it should fit in most nightstands with no problem.

The toy has three speeds of vibration controlled by a push button on the base. The first speed barely moves at all. Against my skin, I would not have even noticed that it was on if it were not for the sound. The medium setting is a low-intensity vibration as well, though much stronger than the first setting. The third setting makes a drastic jump to a fairly strong, thrumming vibration. It does not have the power of say, the Hitachi, but it definitely has some get-up-and-go.

In terms of settings, I would have preferred less of a jump between the settings, or perhaps a dial base instead. The second setting wasn't strong enough, but the third setting was too strong, which I found a little frustrating.

I was impressed with Pure's noise level relative to its power. As strong as it is, I would have expected it to be louder.

All in all, I would give Pure three stars. Though it's nothing to write home about, it will work if you're looking for something simple.
Experience
Cleanup of plastic toys is fairly simple and can be done with soap and warm water. Water or silicone-based lubes can also be used on plastic toys. It is important to note that because this toy does not have a flared base, it is not safe to be used anally.
Follow-up commentary
When paring down my collection, this was one of the first toys I got rid of. It's not particularly strong, have an interesting shape, an interesting texture or a pleasing material. It's not a particularly good value, either. Compared with other toys I've owned, I'd downgrade this to 3 vrooms. This toy was just not at all memorable.

The good thing is anyone who actually orders this is likely looking for something simple and basic. Smile

I was thinking exaclty like Carrie. I am sure this would be a great toy for someone just starting to explore vibrators who is not looking for anything to compllicated.

    Thanks for the review.

I would agree. As I stated, it would be fine if you're looking for very simple, though even as a simple vibe it has its flaws, most notably the speeds.
  • Contributor: Carrie Ann
Is it really a flaw if the speeds just weren't to your liking?

I mean, it's a three speed, push button vibe. There's inherently not going to be a lot of control or customization. Again, something someone purchasing it would/should know and understand but not necessarily a flaw.

I'm not trying to be a pain. Smile It's just a really subjective description review and may be misleading to those looking at buying it, since we're all built differently and prefer different things.

A flaw, to me, says something is physically wrong with the toy when, in reality, you're saying it's something you didn't personally like about the toy.

I suppose in a way you are correct, and I understand and appreciate what you are saying. As has been debated a million times in the forum, it's really difficult to write something that is both objective and a review. I included the information about the speeds not to deter someone from buying, but to make sure they knew that they knew the disparity in the speeds. Now that I read it again, it is perhaps a bit more subjective than necessary and may need revision. Thanks for the comments.
