Put No Motion in my Ocean

This toy, while durable enough, was a let down for me in terms of design and shape. With weak settings overall and a too-bumpy shaft, I was taken for quite the painful ride on multiple occasions. The vibes are suitable for beginners, but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, beginner or advanced user. I feel like overall, this toy has a very flawed design.

Use

I decided upon the Lucid dream no. 99 because my faith in Doc Johnson is never ending. I didn't expect to absolutely adore this toy, but I figured giving it a shot might coax me into its wavy design and multiple settings. I felt the design would suite me well and overall, the toy is visually appeasing and nice to look at. That's always a plus for us pretty toy lovers! This was my first jelly toy and I must say, after taking it out of the box the first time, I don't think I will be again.

You could use this if you love to masturbate on your stomach and have shorter arms and find it difficult to reach, or during a pregnancy or injury that makes it harder for you to reach where you'd like. The quite long shaft of the toy will make up for some of the reaching bullets and shorter-shafted toys require.

The bend of this toy isn't as gracious as advertised, as there's both a motor and rotating rod in the center of the toy that could easily be damaged by assuming it's highly flexible.

The vibrations of this toy are weak, so I've found it best to use vaginally while using a bullet or some other type of heavy-duty vibrator clitorally.

Material / Texture

This was my first rodeo with a jelly toy and I wasn't all that impressed with the material. It was soft, not enough to call it plush, but soft enough that it was comfortable, though still firm enough to get the job done. It's rubbery to the touch and feels springy under fingertips, but it’s not as plush as I thought it to be. The jelly on this toy is rather firm.

There was no scent to the material whatsoever, as usual with the Doc. No greasy like substances to be found on the shaft or elsewhere, and the jelly had no taste to it. If anything, it smelled a bit like rubber, which is to be expected from a jelly toy.

The material did weigh the shaft down quite a bit, not to mention the rather large button system at the bottom used for holding batteries and changing settings.

The texture doesn't really give much oomph or much of anything to your experience, but is just a preference amongst users as to which textures they like. As a Silicone and Cyberskin lover, I didn't expect to go crazy for jelly, but it wasn't nearly as squishy as I thought it might be.

As for the cautions that come with a jelly toy, know your facts! Jelly is always a porous material and exercise caution when sharing with a play partner. Use a condom if you plan on sharing, because jelly cannot be boiled like silicone toys can be. Beware of overly strong toy cleaners, soaps, or intense cleaning methods.

Lubes that can be used with a jelly material include none other than a water-based lube or a silicone lube. Do not try to use an oil-based lube with a jelly toy!

Design / Shape / Size

Overall, is it awful? No. But it simply wasn't my cup of tea. I'm sure that this might slide into someone else like a perfect fit, but the ridges of this toy didn't suite my lower area whatsoever.

The size could be greatly appreciated by someone who doesn't have the ability to reach easily for any reason. The length is a staggering 10 1/2'' with 7 1/2'' insertable. The length provides potential to get to areas that someone who may have back issues, a pregnancy, or any kind of injury cannot reach. It's long, but the girth is gracious with a 5'' circumference around.

I greatly disliked the size of this toy. It was uncomfortable, the dips made me nearly yell in pain. It's heavy and the jelly material weighs it down, as well as the battery compartment/settings display. I don't mind a heavy toy, but this was kind of difficult to move around and you kind of have to let it do its own job, which is a weak one.

This would be highly difficult to travel with, due to both the weight and size. I couldn't carry it home with me from a visit to New York because of the sheer size of it and no room in my suitcase. It got left behind and I wasn't very sad.

I don't feel like this design would be a good fit for many people, but you could be one the few that it just works for. I can't completely bash this toy because my main concern was the entire design as a whole, but if you're one for large waves and length, it might work for you.

This toy, size wise, would suite a more advanced user who could handle the generous girth and length.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The settings for the dream no.99 are located right underneath the shaft, along with the battery compartment.

There are three different settings for the vibrations, and three different settings for the rotation of the shaft. Arrow keys point upwards and downwards for the settings to be lowered or more intensified, and lights indicate which setting you're currently using.

Now to get to the yucky part - the vibes made me want to sigh and put it away almost immediately, but I sufficed in giving it a couple go's before I tossed this one to the curb. The vibes are pitifully weak, and the rotations are nothing short of disappointing.

The controls are easy enough to use, until you have to check which setting you're on because the intensity between all three isn't much different than the lowest.

As if it couldn't get more unfortunate, it's also a loud toy for vibrations and rotations that are so miniscule.

There's one bonus perk that may save it from your toy dump - it's waterproof! If you're a shower toy lover, this could be your match.

Care and Maintenance

As with most jelly toys, expect a lint lover. This was out of the box for all of 2 hours before it was picking up hairs like it had plans for a wig. Lint stuck to the shaft, it wasn't a pretty sight.

Needless to say, a quick wipe down was in order and restored the toy back to pristine condition.

If you're one that doesn't mind wiping a toy down before and after use, this will be cake for you to care for. It isn't so much high maintenance as it is annoying, but if you store it in a place with minimal lint, blankets, sheets, hair strands, rugs, (I think you get the picture), then you should be fine with the care of this product.

I personally store it in a drawer next to a few other toys. Doc Johnson didn't include a bag for the storage of this big guy, so I just lay it in a wooden drawer and hope it collects no dust.

Packaging

The packaging isn't awe-inspiring, but it's pretty cute. It's a clear case that accommodates the largeness of the toy and has pink and blue writing on it. There are swirls and pretties, but not much information about the toy itself.

I was tempted to store the toy in its original packaging, but the toy alone is bulky enough. It could be used as a storage box, but namely for someone who has a lot of room to spare.

Personal comments

I generally love softer feeling toys and expected this toy to be a bit plush, as it is made of jelly. But I was disappointed in the fact that it was much firmer than what felt comfortable for me.

The minimal vibrations don't do much whatsoever and the weight of the toy slows down the rotations a lot. There are only three different speeds for each and as a fan of variety, this simply wasn't for me.

I've raised my standard on Doc Johnson toys because of this flop, though it may be much more suited to someone's body that can handle the large dips and waves in the shaft.

Experience

As a fan of Doc Johnson, I wasn't worried that I'd enjoy this toy but sadly, I was mistaken. I was surprised at the size of it, even after looking at it a long while before deciding. It was much too big for my liking, but that wasn't what made my face fall. The dips and ridges in this toy were downright painful for me!
Follow-up commentary
I've come to learn that it isn't just me on this one - a few other friends have tried the product on their own and have said it's painful and just not designed well. The functions are weak and don't help the pain factor at all, and the jelly material makes me uncomfortable with its low safety rating. Overall, this toy was a flub for DJ and I banished it from my collection.
