Diamond dolphin - rabbit vibrator discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by S&Gangel

The 'Diamond Dolphin' is great for couples to use or for a bit of solo fun. Because there are variations in the vibration intensity and speed of the shaft rotation, it's great for both beginners and for people with more experience. The dolphin definitely provides great clit stimulation but the design of the shaft helps to make the experience feel more realistic. The rotating ball bearings inside provide subtle stimulation, however, I preferred the clit stimulation from the dolphin.

This is a toy definitely suited for the bedroom or it would be a great way to spice up holiday, in private!

There is no noticable smell to the Diamond Dolphin, which is made of Clear TPE and is phthalates free. Although the material provides flexibility, it is a "tacky" porous material that without considerable amounts of water based lube is uncomfortable and not smooth enough. The benefit of the material is that it is easy to clean. However, it is also a lint-clinger so make sure to keep it in a lint-free pouch.

The shape of the shaft and the dolphin are well moulded and smooth with no seams, which provides a smooth defined finish. Although there is no specific texture of the material to add to pleasure, the TPE does move well over the rotating ballbearings inside the device.

I really like the design as it doesn't cause any discomfort. It's easy to use and change speeds to enhance the experience, due to its push button controls.



Although the size was 'usable' for myself - being 4 1/2" insertable - I did find that it ran a bit deep for my first toy, especially with the rotation on. It is possible that more advanced users would want something either larger or with more functions but this is either ok for a beginner or maybe even slightly large. I have heard suggestions that a first time vibe is better off less than 4" girth, and this sits at 4 1/4". Once again, it was a useable size for me, but possibly slightly large for a first time user!

I have traveled easily with the 'Diamond Dolphin' and have it in a lint-free pouch which is very discreet looking.

The 'Diamond Dolphin' provides a great experience because of the different settings that can be used for the speed and vibration intensity of the shaft, and as well, the dolphin part. The shaft and dolphin create completely different sensations which help to provide different experiences. Personally, I preferred the clit vibrations being on with gentle thrusting of the shaft. But if you like more stimulation, you would definitely like the vibrations and rotation of the shaft turned on. The rotation of the shaft also has a reverse function (situated just above the two push button controls) which doesn't affect the clit part, but just the direction of the rotation of the shaft, which is a nifty little button to add a bit of change to a couples session with the guy in control of it!

The controls are easy to use and locate by either your partner or yourself. They are situated on the lower portion of the vibe and are push buttons with three levels for each the dolphin and the shaft. When batteries are fully charged there is no change in power to the clit or shaft when used at the same time. However, when used together at medium-low batteries there is a significant loss of clit power for each level that the shaft gets turned up!

This toy is noisy and sometimes it ruined the mood for me - but this is the first vibrator that I've owned. Although I gave this a 4 BEES score I really think it deserves 4.5!!! No you can't hear it from outside, but I turned it on, closed the door behind me, and walked 10 meters down the hall and I could STILL HEAR IT. Luckily I've never used it when we've had guests staying as the noise really does travel. Worse than that is that although the ball-bearings do not slow down with clenching, the motor makes a squeal to keep the spin going. I really thought this was a normal sound it just made whilst being used... until recently when I decided to turn it on in my hand and listen. Any slight grip AT ALL would cause this squeal to occur!

I really suggest removing the batteries when you are not using it for the pure purpose of always using new/recharged batteries each time. I've left them in a few times and haven't realized how drained they are from just one play session... no more batteries in the house and bingo - can't use the little bugger tonight!!

Similar to most other toys this toy should be cleaned with toy cleaner or an antibacterial soap in warm water. I wouldn't suggest boiling water, however, and due to the slightly porous nature of the TPE I would suggest using condoms if sharing this vibe.
The shape and design is easy to clean however with the right materials. Storage in a lint free cloth bag is best as this material attracts A LOT of lint so keeping it away from dust gathering areas is a must.

Finally, I would definitely use a lubricant for use with this vibe. Being TPE it is safe to use with water OR silicone based lubes. I personally used water based lubes on it and found it was a must.

SHE:
This was mine and my husband's first delve into vibrators (or any sex toys in that case!!). We didn't really research much and just walked into a shop and bought one that was suggested, in a price range that we were happy with. My first experience was amazing and I came within seconds of the clit part being turned on to vibrate. However it never really 'did it' for me in that the noise of of the rotation function was so loud that it really took away from the experience.
I didn't really find myself going back for more and more, even with myself and hubby doing all we could to amplify the experience.
Perhaps it's just me and my body but the rotation function was the main loser; it was more uncomfortable that enjoyable. The main turn-ons with this baby are easy thrusting and ample but gentle vibrating from the clit-stimulating dolphin.

HE:
At first I thought we had a winner because of my wife's first reaction to the vibe. However after a few goes we soon both felt that the noise from the rotation of the shaft was noisy, and for my wife it was a real turn off.
Overall I think the vibe is 'good'. It's easy to use with buttons that are obvious for their function, it fits well and vibes great. However, depending upon how you feel about privacy/noise it will be a big yes/no for you.
