Luxe rejuvenate - clitoral vibrator discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by chicagonative

The Luxe Rejuvenate is mostly for clitoral stimulation, but when my boyfriend got ahold of it, he used it to massage my whole body and it actually felt pretty good. He started at my shoulders and worked his way to my bottom and then flipped me over and massaged my breasts, my stomach, my pelvis, and my inner thighs, before finally touching it to my clit and playing with me there. Eventually he moved down and began to perform oral sex on me, but he wasn't done with the Luxe Revunate just yet. He inserted the end of it into my vagina, with the vibrations on setting 3 (high and steady). Surprisingly, it worked very well in this manner. We have used in in others ways as well.

I have also used the toy solo and it is, of course, very effective in this manner. However, I prefer using it in couple’s play, simply because I take great joy in allowing my boyfriend full control of my pleasure.

The material is made of ABS plastic, in which the ABS stands for acrylonitrile butadiene styrene. Butadiene is a rubbery substance that gives the plastic resilience, and the styrene gives the plastic an impervious, shiny surface. However, ABS plastic is damaged by sunlight, so don't leave your toy on any windowsills.

The ABS plastic in this toy has been coated with PU, which stands for polyurethane. It is used commonly in a variety of things, such as Spandex, hoses, and, of course, surface coating. It combines the best properties of both rubber and plastic.

In my personal opinion, the plastic is a bit too rigid. It's great if you plan on being on your back or side the whole time, or if a partner is using it on you, but I've found that lying on it can be quite painful. My boyfriend and I tried a new position a few days ago in which I lay on my stomach and he lies on top of me and we have anal sex in that manner. It was quite good I must say. However, when I used the toy on myself to stimulate my clit simultaneously, I found that the plastic ground into my pelvic bone and made it rather uncomfortable. We ended up switching over to my Posh. I find that I prefer toys with a silicone surface, as it provides a much softer material for my sensitive regions.

I quite like the rounded nodule at the end, as it provides a larger surface area for my ever-wandering clit without getting in the way. It fits the curve of my hand quite nicely, as opposed to the aforementioned Posh.

However, I hate the location of the buttons. If I'm using this solo, I tend to cup it in my hand, with my fingers behind the nodule at the end. This is the most comfortable method of holding it in solo play, in my personal opinion. This means that the buttons are now up against my body, and in order to change the speed, I have to maneuver the toy and my hand in order to do so. This interrupts the flow of things. I would prefer the buttons to be where my fingers rest.

That being said, I do think it is the perfect size. It's easy to hide and you can certainly travel with it, though I don't think it's very discreet in design. Anyone who takes the time to look at the shape and turn it on will know instantly what it is (unless they were raised in a cardboard box, which is always possible).

The vibration in this sucker can get quite intense. It has seven settings:

1 - Low, steady speed, relatively quiet.
2 - Medium, steady speed, gets louder.
3 - High, steady speed, pretty loud.
4 - Low to high, sounds a bit like a lawn mower starting up.
5 - High, long, equal pulsations, pretty loud.
6 - High, short, equal pulsations, reminds me of cell phone vibrations.
7 - High, short-short-long pulsations, pretty noticeable in volume.

Personally, I love settings 3, 6, and 7. The others are a bit lackluster for me, though if I had reason to be quiet, I'd probably use 1 and 2. Setting 4 is just weird, and I find 5 distracting for some reason, though it makes for a good body massage function.

As stated before, I find the controls inconvenient. Also, it's supposed to be waterproof, but I have not tested it yet. It does add for some lovely future plans, though. So far, the batteries have lasted just fine, I'm using store brand AAA batteries and we've used the toy quite a few times. I haven't noticed any downgrade in performance or shortened life of the batteries.

Since it's waterproof, soap and water will do the trick. I quite like this method, as it does not require me to spend extra money on special cleaners.

We only use water-based lubricants, but the site says you can use silicone-based as well.

The packaging is quite obvious. It never says anything about clits or vaginas or masturbation, but it makes strong mention of "fun play" and "massaging". The box is made of transparent plastic, with Cal-Exotics' logo stretched across the top. There are no lewd pictures or drawings on the box. I think it would make a fun gift for something like a bachelorette party. Since the plastic insert used to hold the toy in place is molded to fit the toy, it also makes for a nice storage spot. I don't recall seeing any instructions in the box, but then again, I wasn't looking. I think it's pretty self-explanatory. It took me a moment to figure out the controls, as there are two buttons: one for turning it on and off, and one for changing the speeds. When I first pressed the power button, nothing happened. It only took a second for me to press the second button and figure out that the second button controls the vibrator. Also, I think it's pretty handy that there's a light on this toy. When you power it on, a red light appears beneath the buttons. This is handy for knowing whether or not your toy's batteries are dead or fading. If you use this in the dark or keep your pants or undies on when using it, it's handy to be able to look down and see where the buttons are and which button to press.

I have used this toy quite a few times now, around 10 times, mostly with my partner. I didn't expect it to be a couple’s toy, but I've found that I prefer it as a couple’s toy, because much more can be done with it in that manner. Used in a solo setting, I've found that I much prefer my Posh to this toy, as the material is rigid, and there's only so much I can do with it because of this.
