Click 'N' Charge replacement charger - adapter by Fun Factory - review by Sammi

The new Fun Factory toys all use a charging technology called Click ‘N’ Charge. This requires a special charger, and the charger can be used on any of these toys. Sometimes, however, chargers get misplaced, and if you have more than one of these toys you might want to charge them at the same time. Since no other adapter works with these toys, a replacement charger is in order.

The Click ‘N’ Charge replacement charger, also called a FUN Magnetic Plug, comes in the signature grey and red Fun Factory box. Inside the box is the charger and a small Fun Factory booklet with instructions in several languages.

The charger/adapter is black, with a slimline plug to make insertion into a surge protector easier. It takes 80mA maximum input (100-240V, 50/60Hz, 6W), and outputs 300mA (7.5V). The adapter is available with different plugs for Europe, the USA, UK, and Australia. The cord is about 54” long. The magnetic end, which supplies the charge, is 7/8” diameter and has 2 connection points on the bottom. It fits all of the Fun Factory toys in the Click ‘N’ Charge line.

Charging of Fun Factory toys is easy: simply plug the adapter into a wall socket (a red light will glow on the base) and then attach the magnetic end onto the contact points on the buttons of the toy. Care must be taken with the alignment: the logo on the adapter must fall directly over the logo on the toy, and it must face the same direction. When positioned correctly, the FUN logo on the adapter will glow red, and will turn off when charging is complete.

The magnetic plug will warm during charging, which is normal.

The Fun Factory toys won’t operate while on the charger, so charging should be completed before attempting to use the toys.

Some standard safety precautions for using the adapter include not allowing the adapter magnetic end to come into contact with metallic surfaces (this may cause a short circuit), no using the adapter in the bathroom or bathtub, keeping it away from water and moisture, and keeping it out of the sun. The adapter (and also the Fun Factory toys) should be kept away from credit cards and other cards with magnetic strips to avoid damaging the cards.
