Russian Detachable Dilation Dildo Doll

This is a perfect set for increasing one's capacity for penetration, anal or vaginal, for nearly any user. Further, the vibrator gives it a purpose after those needs are meant, so the $40.00 spent won't be wasted. The main problems are the indiscreet appearance, painful tips and weak vibrations, but those only cost it one star.

Use

Are there times when insertion seems impossible? A new toy turned out to be larger than expected, a partner is leaps and bound above the usual or it’s just the first time trying insertion? Whether it’s expanding the vaginal canal for intercourse or the anus for anal intercourse, the Cal Exotics Dilator Set has a wide variety of sizes necessary for improving penetration.

Of course, what about after insertion needs are satisfied, does that relegate the dilator set to the junk bin? Not as long as its vibration setting still works and there are two AA batteries available. The addition of a vibrator turns this from a dilator set into a vibrating probe, allowing it to be used by anyone who likes probes and vibrations, whether it be their vagina, p-spot, nipples, or even their elbows.

Material / Texture

The texture is a smooth and sleek plastic, without bump or nubble. Neither during insertion nor exterior stimulation was there pain or problems related to the texture of the material. Nor did the plastic have any smell or taste, unpleasant or otherwise.

There wasn’t any pain associated with the texture, nor was there stimulation. This is a dilator set and while it can be used for stimulation, it's true purpose is penetration, which is the bulk of the set's focus. The advantage of the sleek texture is that the body really feels the shape and it prevents pain from the texture, at least until the tips started to wear off.

The tips of the different sleeves wear down after a few uses, becoming tiny points of pain that make insertion and continued use difficult. The 2nd thinnest sleeve suffered this problem and had to be jettisoned and the third thinnest is already showing signs of wear. This doesn’t necessarily mean the dilator set is in itself flawed, the problem could be unique to this particular set, but aggressive thrusting should be avoided just the same.

The plastic material allows for easy cleaning, discussed later on, along with compatibility with any type of lubricant. Furthermore, it's nonporous, so the probe ay be shared with partners, for either experimentation, or just stimulation. Make sure to clean it thoroughly afterwards though.

Design / Shape / Size

Before discussing the design, let’s get a better look.
Here is the sleeve by itself, in its Perfectly Ultimate form.

From here, each sleeve may be removed, revealing a slightly smaller sleeve underneath until all three layers are revealed.

The sizes range from 2.75 inch circumference to 4.75.

Given the variety of sizes available, everyone should be satisfied with the options provided. The only exception might be for those who have already mastered (size) and need something larger, they will find this probe underwhelming. The size is best for beginners, who are able to work their way through up, from the smallest to the largest size.

The shape of the probe also works because it goes in relatively easy. Its purpose isn't to be a penis replica, or to have any fancy bells and whistles, but rather just be inserted, which it does fantastically.

The vibrator is located in a dial base, which has some problems to be discussed in the performance section, but works decently enough.

Suitability for travel is sketchy, but is advised. As a large pink baton, the dilator set is more discrete than something penis shaped, plus the dial makes an accidental vibration unlikely, but still, it does look like a sex toy. For both travel and safe keeping, hide the probe inside a sock and then lock it inside a locked box or trunk. As TSA agents search everything, air travel with the probe is not advised.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The functionality depends upon which section is being examined, the dilator or the vibrator. The dilator set, with a wide variety of sizes, was perfect for its purpose. With the four different sizes available, there shouldn’t be a user too tight or too loose to utilize the dilating function.

Further, the multilayer approach makes for easy use and storage. Each piece easily twists off, not unlike a Russian Matryoshka doll, revealing a smaller probe underneath. Once finished, each piece easily twists back on, eliminating clutter during storage, making what is essentially a four piece set into a one piece.

The vibrator meanwhile, is strong, but nothing remarkable. It operates on a dial base, so it’s easy to control the gradual increase of vibrations, but very difficult to turn off and lacks any special functions or pulses. The strength rates about a 4/5, giving a fair amount of vibration power that is spread throughout the probe, rather than focused onto one area.

For those using the probe for solo anal play, be aware that it’s very different to keep the probe in with one hand and manipulate the genitals with the other. Further, using the probe while stroking or fingering and using a computer at the same time is quite impossible. Anal play should either be done with a partner, for the sole purpose of expanding the anus’ capacity, or with a different toy.

At full blast the vibrations rate about a 4 on the buzz meter.

The batteries, 2 AA, are located in the handle of the set, protecting the internal mechanism from damage during use. In theory at least, the set was too expensive and important to water test, so it might be best to refrain from water play. At the very least, prevent the handle from being submerged.
    • Easy to use
    • Lots of variety in function
    • Not very discreet

Care and Maintenance

You know, throughout this whole review, the set has looked familiar, but I cannot place why. Hold on… it’s a pink version of the Colt the Prowler!

They look exactly the same, except that the dilator set isn’t comprised of smaller pieces.

now kiss!

Awwwwww, they’re in love. When they consummate their love, touching will be perfectly fine, since as plastic toys, they are nonporous and can be sterilized through wiping or washing with soap and water. This allows for sharing of the dilator set; although it does nothing for the awkwardness of broaching the subject.

Since the material is plastic, cleaning is a snap. The Eden wipes are the quickest and easiest sterilization method and avoid the risks of soap and water. For particularly dirty play, or players who aren’t satisfied with just wipes, hot water mixed with soap will also sterilize the toy, but be wary of the handle and try to use a minimum of water.

Plastic does not have any material based limitations, allowing for silicone, water and oil based lubricants.

Packaging

The packaging is rather indiscreet, with the robes brandished on the box. As it’s a dilator however, if found the toy could be argued that it was purchased for health reasons. It would likely take up the majority of a lockbox, but would work well in a storage trunk.

    • Good for storage
    • Not discreet
    • Very informative

Personal comments

Throughout this review I did not mention the other part of the set, the sleeve.

This is because I do not, for the life of me know what it’s for. The most logical use is for covering the toy, but it only covers the smallest probe and doesn't have a lot of stretchability. It could be for adding stimulation, but again, it doesn't stretch well. Honestly, since it does so little it just seems like deadweight.
