Astrovibes Scorpio - traditional vibrator discontinued by Fun Factory - review by markeagleone

OK, this is the second vibrator my wife has purchased for herself. She seems to be moving on up nicely. Onward to the review:

The Astrovibes Scorpio is made by Fun Factory. Upon first receiving this vibrator, I myself, was quite confused. I hadn't seen what she ordered, so I had no clue to anything about it. My first thought upon seeing it, is that it was suppose to be the finger of Predator. You know, that kick-butt alien creature in the movies. Hence, the name of the review. Upon further inspection, I now see the scorpion, but it still looks like his finger to me.

This vibrator can stimulate any area of the female anatomy that a finger or penis can. It does have a bit more tricks up its sleeve, though. It has a variable vibration function that my male part just doesn't have.

I would have to say that this one will work on beginners and advanced, alike. It is a great variation to the more traditional vibrators. It is soft and bendable, yet firm enough to get the job done.

The materials that this particular toy is made from is plastic and Silicone. It has no smell to it and feels similarly to rubber. It has a perfectly smooth texture, except where the design has been added.

The base and control knob are made from plastic. There are nunerous ridges in them to add better finger grip.

There are numerous ridges going into the design, with as many grooves. The Astrovibes Scorpio comes in the color red.

I believe that advanced as well as beginners would enjoy this toy. It has an unique design and variable vibrations. The size and shape are also not intimidating to the first time user.

OK, now to the details of this product. The unique design on this vibrator is that it has a scorpion on its back. The tail starts on the side, goes under and comes back around, with its main body on the top of the vibrator. It has a total length of 7 3/4 inches. The control knob and battery cover are 7/8 inches long and the body is 6 7/8 inches long. It starts out at a point and quickly goes to approximately 1 1/8 inches in diameter. There is a small inward bend on the bottom and sides, 1 7/8 from the tip, but the overall size remains the same due to the head of the scorpion. It then tapers upward to 1 5/8 inch at the base, where the tail wraps around.

The control knob is 1 3/8 tapered to meet the battery cover. Both are made from plastic.

This toy is by no means discreet. The very appearance draws attention to it. It would be suitable to travel in a suitcase in a car, but I wouldn't take it on a plane.

I would also have to say this toy is for both the beginner and the more advanced. It has variable vibration settings and also a tapered body to fit almost anyone out there.

The control on this vibrator is quite easy to use. It is variable, so the more you turn the knob, the faster the vibrations become. The control knob is at the base of the vibrator. It offers enough resistance, that it would be difficult, not impossible, to accidentally turn in play.

The vibrator is located about mid-way in the body of the beast. It is an excellent design, in the fact that the vibrations flow both ways, even to the narrowing tip. The differences in vibrations are also note-worthy. They start out extremely slow, but work their way up to a very strong blast.

The amazing thing about this toy, is its very construction. Freestanding, the vibrations go from a cellphone type to a bit more on high. When in use, the noise is very quiet. I have to say that this manufacture put quality work and design into it.

This toy is made from silicone and plastic. Silicone can be boiled to sterilize, but I do not recommend that for this toy. Nowhere have I found it stated that it's waterproof. Also, there is no o-ring to the battery cover. I would recommend a toy cleaner, or a careful soap and warm water bath. I would also recommend removing the batteries when cleaning. Wear a condom if you share. As always, I recommend not to share.

Silicone and dust, lint and hair go hand in hand. I would recommend storing this toy in its original packaging. The packaging is also designed very well as I will touch on soon. A zip-lock bag will also work, if you have a toy box you use. Just remember to make sure it's dry when storing.

This particular toy takes two AA batteries. My wife has not yet needed to replace them after several uses, but I always recommend having a spare set. I recommend removing the batteries when storing for extended periods of time.

This vibrator comes in a cardboard box, with a plastic see-through insert. The box has a magnet that, once opened, shows all the product information in different languages. The plastic insert is hinged at the bottom for ease of removal. The box is of good quality to keep this one in. It measures 11 inches tall by 2 3/8 inches deep and 3 1/2 inches wide. It is a product of Germany. It also has the slogan "love yourself" on it.

The box is mostly blue, with a Grey bottom. The words are in red and white. By no means is this box discreet, but it serves its function in protecting the toy. An alternative would be a zip-lock bag. In any case, make sure it's dry when storing. Also remember to remove the batteries, if you are going to sore it for some time.

This Astrovibe was a must buy for me. It had nothing to do with being on sale, looking fairly unique and cool, or based off any of the product description. I am a Scorpio and HAD to have it, plain and simple.

When the Astrovibe arrived I fell in love with it, the deep red color, the great box that displayed the vibe so well, and it was my sign. My husband ripped it out of my hands and opened it, which brought my sight admiration to an abrupt end. After he gave it back to me I was surprised that it actually was not a hard material (it looks like it would be) and it could really bend. It is very sturdy despite that you can bend it. I loved all the different sensations my hands felt, as I ran them across the "tail". There were bumps,ridges, and a smoothness from the base to the tapering point.

When the Astrovibe is first turned on, the vibrations can be felt throughout the toy. They are stronger at the base but can be felt comfortably at the tip with each twist of the control knob. At the highest setting it did begin numbing my fingers a bit, this was after holding it and adjusting the controls for ten minutes.

Although, this vibe looks intimidating, it was wonderful on all settings when we used it for clitorial stimulations. The smoothness of the material and the different design attributes make a great combination. With the insertion of this toy, we took some time because I was apprehensive about its size. Even though it has a pointed end and tapers larger to the base, this thing is huge (in my eyes).

It was an amazing experience, once I became comfortable with it. The vibrations were never so strong I could not handle it. The bumps and ridges could be constantly felt throughout my whole experience. These bumps and ridges added a whole new level of sensations that corresponded nicely with the vibrations.

We did not use this anally, but I suppose you could if you were very careful. If you choose to use this anally or even if you plan on sharing, please use a condom.

I was saddened to hear that this one is being discontinued so I plan on using this only on special occasions. I gently cleaned this with a mild soap and water, a little bit of toy cleaner, then again used a toothbrush with soap and water. I let him air dry and carefully put him back in the packaging he arrived in.
