Seems Cheaply Made
Given the cheap build quality, we'd recommend spending a little bit more on a higher quality toy that will last you longer.Published: January 3, 2011
Pros:
Nice feel, takes standard Double A's, good size
Cons:
Cheaply made and easily broken
Our experience wasn't great with this toy. Upon receiving it and putting in the batteries, the unit didn't function at all. It became quickly clear that the system in place for turning the unit on and switching modes was fairly cheaply made, and had broken before it ever arrived at our door.
The twisting control panel is not held on by much, and it's easy to see how it was broken so quickly. Too much bumping or a little too much pressure when turning and the plastic could be broken and the toy will no longer function. It's too bad, because the toy is priced very reasonably and has a great look and feel. It uses standard Double A batteries that are easy to find and cheap to buy. My wife enjoyed the texture and grooves of the toy, and said it was about the size she would typically enjoy.
Due to the short in the circuit, the toy would only occasionally rumble to life. When it did, it seemed powerful, but because it only worked a few seconds at a time, we were never able to try it out. There's a good amount of modes on the vibrator, so it's unfortunate that it suffers from such poor design. Obviously, we weren't able to test how long the batteries would last due to our particular situation. The device didn't seem too loud from our short experience with it, but I wouldn't take our word for it since it would only power on for a few seconds at most.
We would definitely advise looking into a more expensive vibrator with a higher build quality. Even if our unit had been working when we received it, a quick take apart revealed that would probably would have broken it sooner, rather than later.

Thanks for giving us a good review about your experience with the product. Are you saying there was a short in the circuit when you purchased it? Do you think it's just the construction of the dial that caused this? Do you think it's possible that you just got a dud?
Upon realizing it was broken, we took it apart, and I would have to say it was a bit of both. Yes, we got a dud... but the plastic "nub" that keeps the dial from turning too far and breaking is just a tiny piece of plastic. If you knew that going in, you could be gentle and the toy would probably last for much longer.
I own this and adore it. You should have exchanged it for a new one (if you got it from EF). I have dropped it, tossed it in the drawer and used it over and over (and I always take my batteries out when i am done) and I have had no problems with it whatsoever.
Thanks for the review!!
Sorry you got a dud, better luck next time. Thanks for the review
