The Eroscillator is easily the best thing that has ever happened to my female anatomy. It feels completely different from any vibrator I have ever used, much more like a lover than a sex toy. An amazing, mind-blowing, never-gets-tired, always knows what you want and is perpetually ready for action, lover. I think I have fallen in love with this, many times over. I might have even tried to cuddle with it after a particularly amazing session -- it is so good it will make you delirious. This is the first sex toy I have ever used that causes me to grip the sheets and moan with pleasure. I am seriously, ridiculously in love. And I'm pretty sure it loves me back. How else could it know exactly what I want, all the time?

The Eroscillator is easily my favorite thing in my toy box. I wish I had more of them, and perhaps more hands, so I could use it on every erogenous zone at once. It feels like the best extension of my hand ever. I move it around so it softly strokes the area around my vagina, rest it on the opening, rub it around my clit, before holding it directly on my sweet spot, as I ride the waves of orgasm. Amazing. I've also heard it works very well with partner sex, slipping easily between bodies during penetration, but I have yet to try it. For now, the Eroscillator is all mine, all the time. I think my partner would probably be jealous if he saw the way I react to her touch.

It feels so amazing, with no numbing, that I have literally had marathon sessions, staying up late into the night just to have a few more amazing orgasms. She is that good.

Material / Texture

The Eroscillator is made of plastic, and is non-porous, phthalate-free, and completely waterproof (besides the cord, obviously). The device itself is completely hard, as you would expect of plastic, but has some ribbing which makes it easier to grip. The attachments are made of silicone-coated TPR, and are more flexible, although they are quite firm. Most of the attachments have raised bumps for added stimulation, but may be too textured for some. Of the included attachments, I enjoy the feeling of the Ball & Cup, as well as the Grapes side of the Grapes & Cockscomb, but the Golden Spoon just doesn't do much for me. My favorite attachment is the Soft Fingertip (not included, but can be purchased through Eden Fantasys), and it's made of medical silicone elastomer. Unlike the others, this one is extremely squishy and smooth, and feels the most natural to me.

Design / Shape / Size

I love her so much I would never say this to her face, but in all honesty, I don't find her that attractive. She looks kind of like an old fashioned electric toothbrush, if they made shiny, copper-colored plastic toothbrushes. Definitely distinctive looking, but if I were the designer, this color would not have been my first choice.

However, there are certain circumstances when looks just don't matter, and this is one of them. This performs so well, it could look like a pile of cement, and I would still adore it just the same. Luckily, it looks much better than that. I wouldn't say she is ugly (though some might), but I would say her appearance is unique, and at first glance, definitely did not get me in the mood.

She is shaped nicely for comfort in use, as I can hold it easily in one hand and position the tip perfectly, just where I want stimulation. She also has a great, extra long cord, so you can plug her into an outlet across the room, and use her on the bed. No need for extension cords here! The fact that it is a plug-in vibe is great because I never worry about running out of power. She is always ready just when I need her, and lasts as long as I want.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The oscillations are directed entirely through the head of the attachments, to give you stimulation right where you direct it. There are three speeds, easily accessed by sliding the panel on the side of the handle. The controls are convenient and easy to operate, but sometimes when my hand is all lubed up, I have difficulty sliding the panel back to a lower setting. At these times, I just use my other hand.

The oscillations are a much more delicate, gentle feeling than vibrations, but I guarantee they well get you where you want to go. Unlike a traditional vibrator, the lighter the touch, the more intense the sensations. This does take some getting used to, since with the Hitachi I tend to press it harder into myself as I get close. With this, I start on the lowest setting, with gentle pressure, and ease up as I ride my way into orgasm. Sometimes I get off with just the lowest setting, other times I graduate to the second. I have rarely used the highest setting, and never wished there was a higher one.

As far as noise goes, it is basically the opposite of every vibrator I've used (even the ones I have loved). It is whisper quiet, especially under a blanket, but it makes me loud. Sometimes I find myself grasping a pillow to put over my mouth just so I can let out a moan of pleasure. Although the body of the toy is waterproof, I would not use it in the shower or bath -- it plugs into the wall! It is a great feature for cleaning, however.

Care and Maintenance

The Eroscillator is easy to care for, and can be cleaned easily with hot water and soap, or by wiping down with isopropyl alcohol. Although it is waterproof, it should never be boiled or completely submerged, since it has a cord. I clean it by running it under the tap, and rubbing it down with antibacterial soap. Quick and easy, and it looks brand new! I use water-based lube with this toy.

Packaging

The packaging was... a little disappointing. My impression was that they designed ten years ago, and never felt the need to upgrade. If I'm going to be paying upwards of $100 on a sex toy, I want it to feel like luxury. This did not. It came in a cardboard box, and inside, wrapped in plastic, was my love, with attachments in separate plastic covers. Also disappointing: the clear, plastic carrying case. I bought my own case -- a repurposed makeup bag. Why? The Eroscillator is so amazing, it really deserves a great case. Would you put your prized possession in a clear plastic bag that doesn't even have a zipper? I didn't think so. The toy is so great it should be wrapped up in luxurious black velvet, or perhaps come with a carrying case with a section for all the attachments. I would have loved that.

On the upside, it also comes with a DVD that includes users describing their experiences, Dr. Ruth explaining why she endorses it, and explanations of why it works so well. There is also a large leaflet that includes the benefits of the Eroscillator, a "Primer on Self Pleasuring," explanations of the attachments, and suggestions for use. I actually found reading through this rather helpful, and keep it on hand for reference.

Great review! I can imagine the packaging of this product hasn't changed much since I first saw it advertised in the late 90s. I agree with you. For the price, the company should update the look of the toy and the packaging.

The wonderfulness of the oscillations are enough to make it unique and distinctive, so they could stand to make the the design a little more subtle...and maybe even pretty? If only it looked nearly as good as it feels!

@ Tuesday: Yes - I love both (my two favorite vibes), although the Magic Wand has been somewhat neglected since I got my Eroscillator. I was sad to read that it didn't do anything for you, because it is so amazing for me. I have to qualify my love for the Magic Wand though - it is way too strong for me to use directly. I use it with a blanket in between and it's amazing! On the other hand, the Eroscillator with the Soft FIngertip is totally perfect for me - I can use it directly with a little bit of lube. I think they are also making a more powerful version which is on Eden now - maybe that would work better for you.
