Silk touch egg vibe - egg discontinued by Topco Sales - review by Dame Demi

Although the Silk Touch Egg Vibe is classified as an egg, it is a very narrow egg, so I would put it somewhere between the bullet and egg categories. It is, to start with, a very pretty example of the toys of its sort, with a silky soft texture, attractive ribbing, and an easily held battery pack for the hand. I also ordered the one in the seafoam green color, and it is truly a lovely and unusual shade for a sex toy.

The Silk Touch Egg Vibe seems to be well constructed. I didn’t worry about the wires pulling out as I so often do with bullets and eggs. The battery pack also detaches from the egg for easy cleaning.

As I mentioned before, the egg itself is covered with prominent and lovely looking ribs. Unfortunately, in my experience at least, the ribs were mostly cosmetic and didn’t really add anything in terms of the way the vibe felt. I suppose if you were to insert and remove the egg repeatedly they might come into play, but that is not how I use egg vibes. It did feel good upon insertion but just not much better than a regular egg vibe|Boom box egg vibrator by Topco. The silky coating is a nice touch too and a pleasant change from hard plastic.

The battery pack also serves as the controller and fits neatly into the palm of a hand. It has a large silver button to turn it on and off and flip through the vibration settings and a scroll wheel to adjust the intensity of the vibration.

Be warned; this vibe is powerful, even at its lowest setting. I was able to orgasm twice without raising the intensity of the vibrations at all. The five vibration and pulsation settings on the Silk Touch Egg Vibe are also, to me, rather uninteresting, and I highly preferred the steady vibration setting. The vibe is fairly loud for an egg as well, so make sure you have some privacy before using this toy.

Overall, I enjoyed the Silk Touch Vibrating egg well enough, though its high points are really aesthetic rather than functional. It is a very pretty toy and seems well constructed but is not really much more functional than a traditional egg vibrator. Just be warned that this vibe packs a powerful punch even at its lowest settings, so it may not be a good choice for those looking for something more subtle in a toy.

I've been lucky enough not to have the problems with this vibe that  many of the other reviewers seem to have with the motor and/or connection shorting out or dying. Then again, I rarely find the need to crank this one  up to its highest settings, and I do have a wide variety of toys, so I can alternate. There is one significant change from my original review, however. Ever since strengthening my Kegel muscles, I am much more sensitive to the ribbing on this bullet when used internally! Now I can definitely feel and enjoy that wide ribbing, and that alone raises this vibe way above the traditional smooth egg vibe for me!
