Ballistic bullet - bullet discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by Gracefire

This bullet is pretty similar to other bullets on the market, but with a few key differences. It can be used to stimulate the clitoris, or for breast/nipple and cautious anal play (I would not recommend inserting it). It works well for masturbation, or for couples looking to add a little extra spice to their play. Its small size allows it to be easily and discreetly tucked in a backpack, purse or overnight bag. However, because it is a little louder than some other bullets I have tried, I would limit its use to place you know have nice, thick walls.

The material used in this toy is plastic, which rates as an 8 on the safety scale. It is food-grade, hypo-allergenic, latex free, phthalates free, and non-porous. The texture is smooth and hard, save for the button used to change intensity, which has a rubbery texture. The button is slightly raised from the rest of the surface of the controller. It has no detectable smell.

The design is nice. The controller is a pleasing shade of light green and is approximately 4.5 inches long, 1.75 in. wide (at widest), 1.5 inches wide (at narrowest), and 1 in. thick. It fits easily and comfortably in my hand. The button that changes the intensity of the vibration was in a very convenient spot; I did not have to contort my fingers to reach it. It is a darker, but complimentary, shade of green, and rubbery and slightly raised from the surface of the controller, which distinguishes it well and makes it easy to find, even in the heat of the moment.

The bullet is silver and measures in at 2.25 inches long, 1 inch in diameter, and 3 inches in circumference. I found that it was easy to position and easy to hold. The size of the bullet makes it ideal for people who are just starting to explore themselves and may not know where to place it for maximum pleasure. I really like that the bullet plugs in to the controller, as most of the time my bullets have died, it has been from damaged cord wires. This opens up the possibility that the bullet can be replaced, thus saving you the expense of buying a whole new toy. (Note: I use the phrasing "open to the possibility" because I could not confirm whether or not California Exotics sells replacement bullets.)

When plugged in, the cord measures 33 inches (from controller to egg).



This toy is not available in other colors in these dimensions, but California Exotic does produce a "mini" and "slimline" version with differently shaped bullets. The mini is purple, while the slimline is pink.

This is a powerful little vibe that, while it may not have any bells or whistles, certainly got the job done.

The controls consists of a single button located in the upper center of the controller. One press of the button turns the toy on to the lower intensity setting, and another press of the button changes it to the higher intensity setting. A third click turns the toy off. The vibrations were "buzzy" and strong and can be easily felt on the body part being focused on by the hand holding the egg. They stay localized to the egg and do not transfer to the hand holding the controller. There is only one pattern - a constant vibration.

As stated before, it is a little noisier than some of other bullets I have tried, which can be a negative depending on how you intend to use it. The noise can definitely be heard from under covers and probably through a closed door.

This toy IS NOT waterproof and runs on 2 AA batteries.

The one thing that I did not like about the function of this toy was that the vibration stops when the button is held down. This means that when switching from low to to high intensity, there is going to be a moment when there is no vibration. True, it only lasts as long as you hold down the button, but it's still an interruption. Also, once you switch to high intensity, there is no way to switch back down to low. You must turn the vibe off first and then turn it back on. These inconveniences brought down what would have been a 4-star star to only three stars.

Care is simple. I do not recommend insertion, as too much tugging on the cord can send this toy to an early grave. If you do want to insert this, I would suggest covering it with a condom first and pulling the condom to remove, not the cord. Oil, water or silicone lube can be used, as the material is plastic.

After each use, thoroughly wipe the bullet with a toy wipe or wash it with some mild anti-bacterial soap and water. This toy IS NOT waterproof, so be careful to keep moisture away from the controller. Be sure to pay attention to the seam around the middle and where the cord enters, as skin cells and bodily fluids can accumulate there. Pat or air dry before storing.

The packaging consisted of an outer plastic box that can easily be preserved for storage. It measures 7 inches long, 4.25 inches wide and 1.25 inches thick. Inside, the bullet and controller are housed in a plastic shell that slides in and out of the box. Both of these pieces are recyclable, but can also be preserved for storage. The package is not discreet, as you can clearly see the product through the clear plastic box.




Included in the packaging were instructions on how to insert the batteries. This consisted of a small folded paper with four pictures detailing how you lift the battery cover, insert the batteries, and then close the cover. There was no text.

Because of the domed extension on the top, some may find this hard to gift wrap. But without the extension, gift wrap should be no problem.
