soft, strong and complex: a perfect recipe for a vibrator
The Siena Rondo is a large, waterproof, penetrative vibrator made of soft, pure silicone and run on an impressively quiet motor. It provides a variety of strong, complex vibrations and will be particularly useful to those who love intense vibration but are tired of the neighbors knowing it.Published: April 7, 2009
Pros:
Silicone, quiet, complex, strong, vibrations.
Cons:
Shaft could be more curved for better angle-of-insertion options.
I’ve been having a run of really good toys to review recently and man, was the Siena Rondo not an exception. This toy got it right in a number of critical ways, which I'll describe in just a minute. As way of background, though, the Siena Rondo is a large, penetrative vibrator which operates by controller buttons on the bottom part of the shaft. Although the Siena Rondo's shaft isn't incredibly long, coming in at 5.5 inches insertable, it's plenty girthy (1.75 inch diameter!) with very little curve. You're looking at a thick shaft that will fill many size queens but has limited flexibility in terms of insertable angle. That thick shaft is made of supple but firm silicone, most similar in touch to Fun Factory brand silicone—in other words, lovely. Now then: The three big pros that make this a fabulous vibrator:
Fabulousness #1: Shaft ripples. I wish I had a sexier term for the incredible variety of ripples in the silicone on the shaft. You've got thick, obvious ripples down three of the four sides of the shaft, with thinner, more subtle ones near the base. I wondered before trying it whether I would be able to feel the difference of having these ripples. The answer is a wholehearted YES. The ones on the shaft spread the vibration of the toy in ways that felt unique depending on how I turned the shaft inside myself. The ripples at the base felt great on my outer labia (I'm a trans dude. I have them). The head of the Siena Rondo, which is smooth, made for great g-spot massage with firm, solid pressure.
Without further introduction,
Fabulousness #2: Long vibration patterns. Okay—every multi-function vibrator on the market at this point has the same patterns and when I saw this one, I expected more of the same. Nope! The Siena Rondo does have most of the same patterns as other vibes (solid weak, medium, strong vibrations, then a variety of staccato and escalating patterns) but it has them in longer pattern lengths. So, my favorite, Pattern #6 (they're labeled and identified by pictures on the box—convenient!) moves from a soft thrum, to a series of more intense staccato vibrations to a longer intense one, to more intense quick ones, and then starts over. Pattern time, start to finish? 15 seconds, by my count—at least 10 seconds more than your average vibrator's pattern length. This means that the patterns are more complex and you can customize better what you're feeling when, with minimal switching between patterns. Awesome. And when you're done? Hit a button to switch patterns, or hold down either of the two buttons to turn it off--Easy as pie.
And finally,
Fabulousness #3: The sweet sound of silence. This vibrator, especially given how intense some of the vibrations are, is remarkably quiet. Yeah, if you're listening at my door and I'm using it 3 feet away, you'll hear it. But I had it under a blanket and it was nearly silent, even as it rocked my world with some incredible, deep vibrations. It's not that I don't enjoy making passers by uncomfortable with loud vibration, but there are times when I'm definitely going to rely on the Siena Rondo for that slightly more discreet experience.
So, there you have it. The Siena Rondo rocked my world and will likely rock the world of anyone who enjoys strong vibration, big toys, complex patterns of vibration and, right, not having the whole world know they're getting off. You can clean the Siena Rondo with a 10% bleach solution to sterilize or with warm water and soap to clean if you're not going to share it.

Thank you for viewing Siena Rondo – sex toy review page!

It's always a winning combination when you get great vibration with near silence! It sounds like a fun ride.
"and has very little curve which makes it."
At the risk of sounding like a jerk, makes it what?
I love the way this look. Comparable with Fun Factory stuff. Yum.
I agree, Tiny Tease--nothing like fun without having to develop elaborate music decoys.
Backseat boohoo-- you're not being a jerk at all! Sorry about that, those words were left over from an earlier draft in which I mentioned the limited flexibility in that sentence. I've fixed it. Thanks for the comment.
Carrie Ann- I have the Fun Factory Share and absolutely love how soft it is. I don't entirely understand why some silicone feels different than others, but definitely appreciate the kind used here.
Gabe: I don't understand that either! Fun Factory's silicone definitely feels different from Tantus'.
Yeah...If I taught chemistry, there would definitely be a week devoted to understanding sex toy materials. We would drop silicone lube on silicone toys and see what happened. Too bad I don't understand chemistry or know a school that cool.
Awesome review Gabe. And wow - what a toy for the price!
Thanks, Happy Lady! I agree, re. the price--I didn't realize how cheap it was when I was reviewing it or I would have commented on what a steal it is!
This is nice - I love the colors!
Great review!
Well Well.....
Looks huge. x_x
Thanks!!
