This toy was definitely designed
When I first got the assignment for
Lucid Curves from Doc Johnson, I was stoked. It looked like such a fun toy that could have many uses. The nubs on it seemed like they would be good for massaging the clit to bring pleasure to new heights. But when I received my Lucid, I was sadly disappointed. As soon as it arrived, I pulled it out of its box and went to put in the batteries and discovered that it takes 1.5v batteries, something that I don't usually have on hand. It did come with a set of batteries, but replacing them when they die may get irritating since it's somewhat of an uncommon battery.
After I inserted the batteries, I turned on the toy to test its strength. The dial to turn it on is somewhat irritating as there is not much to grip as you turn it, especially if your hands are at all slippery. The Lucid has two settings, high and low. The low setting was disappointing because I could barely feel it. The high setting felt strong when I held the toy in my hand, but when I used it, it wasn't nearly as powerful as it had seemed. I think the source of the vibrations is too far from the end, dulling it significantly when actually trying to use the toy.
As I continued to explore the Lucid I found even more disappointment with it. The nubs that I had been so excited to use were more painful than pleasurable. The material was much too hard to really feel good. They were also a pain to clean in between. I tried turning the toy over to use the smooth side, which did help with the pain, but the vibrations were even more dulled, making it even harder to reach orgasm. Try as hard as I could, I never did come with the Lucid on its own. Since the vibrations were so low, it did serve as a good warm up to other toys, but it wasn't enough by itself.
Sad as I was with the result of my solo play with the Lucid, I decided to give it another shot with my husband, hoping things would go better. The result was disastrous. The slightest bump would cause the toy to get pushed too hard against my body, causing a significant amount of pain. I tossed it aside after two minutes. It just wasn't worth it.
Lucid Curves is waterproof so it could join you in the tub for some water play, but I didn't bother since I had such a bad experience already.
Overall, this toy just wasn't worth the money or the pain. It's going to permanently reside in the back of my toy drawer. Maybe I'll pull it out as a last resort. But most likely I will never use it again.
Wow. Well, at least you didn't have to buy batteries for this little failure.
This thing looks awful! Thanks for the review!
Yeah you would think that but unfortunately that is just not the case. :(
It looks pretty unpleasant. I would hope that a stronger battery like that would translate to more power...
