Shane's world soft touch pet - vibrator kit discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by Danzig ate your mother

Because of the innocence of this toy, between the cute animal design, the diminutive size, the softness of the material, and the low vibrations, I would recommend this only for first time users. However, I am worried that first time users will have a hard time with this toy because of the extensive cleaning methods, and maintenance required to keep the toy somewhat safe to use.

The best use for this vibrator is probably to show off to people, and talk about what a cute little vibe it is. The best method of actual stimulation with this vibrator, however is probably to either pull the cute animal sleeve off of it and use the bare bullet (which is still lacking in quality but might please an inexperience user), or to slip the sleeve onto a more powerful bullet/egg whose vibrations might actually penetrate through the squishy material. This vibrator is not meant for penetration and should be used with a toy protector for external clitoral or nipple stimulation.

The best word that I can think of to describe texture of this toy is "squishy". Even as I type the word I feel it is a juvenile way to express an adult novelty, but this toy is exactly that. It is juvenile in every way. I am not very picky and enjoy a number of different degrees of firmness and flexibility in my toys, but this one was just entirely too soft. Because of the squishy texture of this toy it does not carry vibration well at all and would thoroughly disappoint experienced users.

This toy is simply a glorified bullet sleeve, paired with a poor quality bullet. What it has going for it however, is that it is a very adorable bullet sleeve. It is tiny, less than three inches, and thus easy to hide and travel with. Especially considering the innocence of the design. I must say, it is one of the cutest vibrators that I have ever seen, and would easily pass most people without causing suspicion.

What little vibration this toy has is located in the poor quality, removable bullet. It is turned on by twisting the base of the bullet and has one speed; Low. The bullet provided requires three watch batteries which are not only expensive, but have poor life and are a hassle to install in the toy. It is not waterproof and should be used with a toy protector or condom. Even if paired with a bullet/egg of higher quality or power the material with which this sleeve is made does not conduct vibrations well at all.

Because of the Soft Touch material that this product is made out of, it is not only difficult to clean but also difficult to store. It requires a lot of maintenance and must be used with a water based lubricant. It is an extremely porous material that should not be used without a condom or toy protector, because of it's tendency to trap germs and debris. And honestly, what is the point in buying a squishy little vibrator that looks like Hello Kitty if you have to cover her with a condom for each use?

I had to store mine in a thin sock to keep it from getting smooshed against the my other toys and destroyed. And each time I would remove it from it's sock it would be covered in fuzzys that seemed nearly impossible to rinse off. And then one day it happened... I forgot to put it back in it's sock. That was the demise of my Shane's World Soft Touch Pet Vibe as the cute little pink kitty sleeve melted completely into an unrecognizable mess. Wonderful.

Even the hygiene and maintenance section in the Soft Touch Guide to Materials entry here on Eden Fantasys is lengthy and tedious.

From the Guide to Materials. "These materials are extremely porous, making it difficult to clean and easy for germs and dirt to hide. So protect them with a condom. Skin-like materials are extremely sensitive; they should be cleaned before and after every use with warm water and toy cleaner or antibacterial soap. These toys come dusted in a powdery material to maintain their unique texture, clean the toy thoroughly before first use. After each use, clean again and dust with a little cornstarch (not TALC which has been linked to cervical cancer) before storing to prevent the toy from becoming sticky. They should be stored individually in a dark, cool place. Store each toy separately in a plastic zip bag or thin sock because the porous surface can absorb dyes from other materials. These materials are also very incompatible with many substances. Contact with silicone-based lubricants, oil or petroleum based products will cause damages to the surface of the toy. Use only water based lubricants."

And this one isn't even waterproof! So make sure to remove the bullet before doing any of that rinsing that the Guide recommends.

The Soft Touch Pet is packaged in a small white box, with a photo of the vibrator on the front paired with the usual college cutie in panties and a tee shirt that I have come to expect on most Shane's World products. While there is nothing ridiculously crass within the packaging, I would seriously not recommend using this box to package Grandma's Christmas gift in.
