The Cone sex toy review

The Cone is also quite effective for anal exploration because it provides maximum stimulation with minimum penetration. So for those just starting to experiment in this region, it would be a great place to start.

useful review
The Cone is by far one of the most unique and innovative toys I have in my collection. It is shaped like, well, a large cone and is made of a soft pink silicone material that holds it in place and keeps it from sliding around. Thus, the Cone can be used on hard or soft surfaces and even propped up against a wall for doggie-style fun.

The Cone came at a precipitous time for me since I’ve been having serious lower back problems. The first day I got it, I immediately put it on the coffee table and tried lowering myself over it fully clothed, just to get a taste. Unfortunately, I then had to put it away for another time. When I did finally get to try it out, I just lowered myself onto it, adjusted the speed, pulled out my favorite reading material, and went along for a ride. It was very easy on my back and made me orgasm in a very short period of time, twice.

The Cone has a wide variety of settings—16 in all, many of them quite unique and interesting. The controls are easy to use; there’s an on/off button that can also be pressed twice to proceed directly to setting 16 (Orgasm Mode), the most intense of the settings. For the fainter of heart, there’s a second button that allows you to cycle through the other speeds and variations—escalating, pulsating, fluttering, and others I can’t even describe. A nice feature is that hitting the on/off button again immediately kills the motor when you’re finished.

The Cone is very quiet on its lower powers but can get extremely loud on some of its higher and wilder settings. The surface on which you rest the Cone also makes a huge impact on the amount of noise this toy makes. On the bedroom carpet, it was reasonably quiet; on my coffee table, it was so loud it had the dog barking. Again though, on the higher and more intense settings, this toy is definitely far from discreet. It is powered by three C batteries, which give it a good amount of oomph.

The Cone is also quite effective for anal exploration because it provides maximum stimulation with minimum penetration. So for those just starting to experiment in this region, it would be a great place to start. The silicone material also makes for safe and easy clean-up.

All in all, I’d say the Cone is definitely worth adding to your collection if you like a wide variety of options in your sex toys. This is certainly one with which you’ll be experimenting for a long time to come.
Follow-up commentary
I've received more questions about The Cone than any other product I've reviewed, probably because it is such a unique and innovative product.  Many of the questions involve how you use it, and it's hardly responsible reviewing to say "be creative!" regarding a product of this price.  However, this is a product that does require creativity and experimentation if you want to make the most of it.  I think it's a product few people will be genuinely disappointed with, but it may require a few tries to get it right.

One tip I can offer:  probably my biggest problem with the cone is the "pointiness" of the tip, which can become painful at times.  Placing a towel over the tip reduces or eliminates the discomfort, and the vibrations are strong enough not to be significantly diminished by doing so.

It's a cone.... The shape baffles me. I wish the review had gone more in-depth about the unique shape and the ways to use it.

The shape IS strange, and the point can get a little uncomfortable at times.  I'm really still working out all the ways to use it, but suggestions are sitting on it, squatting over it, pushing it up against the wall doggie style...it's not really an "on your back" toy, in my opinion, though you could probably make it work that way.  It's not designed for deep penetration, though, obviously, but for more shallow and external stimulation.

Yeah, I've seen this toy all over the place and it always gets such glowing reviews, but the shape really confused me. Honestly, I can't really fathom mastubating without laying on my back. It's just the way I'm most comfortable and I really couldn't imagine sitting on a toy like that. I'm still curious, though, but don't really see how versatile this toy could be.

PLEASE explain how you actually PHYSICALLY use this. Your review was too vague and only parroted the product description page, I want to know how a woman actually uses this. It's so weird but looks so fun so please share how it's actually used- for penetration? Clitoral stimulation? Does the point on the tip hurt?
  • Contributor: Dame Demi
Let's start with the easiest part first--yes, the point on the tip CAN hurt, if you're not careful; just be careful of how and where you rest your weight on it.  Personally, I use the tip for shallow penetration of the vaginal opening, whether I'm kneeling or crouching over it or have it up against the wall doggie-style.  The toy is large enough and the vibrations are strong enough that this shallow penetration is sufficient to stimulate the entire genital region.  Also, the widening base of the cone toy allows the toy to come in contact with a large area, even if only the very tip is actually used for penetration.  My specific suggestion on my favorite way to use it is to kneel over the Cone, carefully lower my vaginal opening onto the point, rest my weight on my heels, and then turn it on while reading or looking at my favorite erotic material.  I find the Cone is actually best suited to this purpose since it's hands free and doesn't usually require lube.  With my weight resting on my heels, I can then shift my weight to move around on the tip and concentrate the stimulation where it feels best.  Don't get me wrong--the Cone is definitely a different sort of toy and isn't going to be for everybody, and it does take some creativity and getting used to.  But I personally love it for its ability to provide easy and hands-free stimulation while reading or looking at erotic material.   Hope this helps!  If not, please feel free to email me at dameddemi@gmail.com and I'll do my best to answer any specific questions you may have!

Given the unique nature of this toy, I think the description of the usage is pretty much spot on.  As with most toys though, using it in ways that appeal the most to you should take precedence.

I love your suggestion about shallow anal penetration, what a great idea!  I agree with the untamed twin that this seems like the sort of toy that ANYONE would have to try several different positions and be creative to use.
  • Contributor: Dame Demi
Yeah, it's definitely a toy that requires experimentation.  The power and mind-boggling number of settings, plus easy silicone cleanup make it worth it, though.  Also, I like being able to use it doggie-style hands free!

I going to have to agree with everyone else on how the heck you would use this. The point on the tip does look quite intimidating....

Wonderful review none the less I guess this toy requires an avid mind with much creativity to use.
  • Contributor: Dame Demi
Yes, a towel is definitely your friend around the tip on this thing, though it's not really *that* bad because of the soft silicone.

Is it too pointy for anal play? Could it hurt your rectum if you sat on it wrong?
  • Contributor: Dame Demi
I'd say this could hurt ANYTHING if you sat on it wrong, since it is quite pointy! If you're careful, though, or wrap a washcloth or something around the tip, it would be excellent for external stimulation of the anal area.

I like using it while I sit on the couch (over my clothes to avoid getting stabbed) I usually place it flat side down and then squeeze my legs around it, and wow! It adds some variation if you squeeze your legs together and then gently release. I thrust my hips a little too. I can even do it at my desk!
