Rabbit vibrator discontinued

The Lazy Bunny

If only the rabbit on this toy actually did something, this could be an awesome vibrator. The lack of external vibrations drop this down to pretty average, a mixture of hit and miss design choices.

Use

The Flexi Rabbit Teaser Pleaser is a rabbit-style vibrator with a flexible shaft and a tongue twister of a name. This toy is designed to provide both internal and external stimulation at the same time, although I'm sure you could probably come up with other inventive uses. Although primarily made for solo use, this could also be used to warm up with a partner. I would most recommend this toy for a beginner, due to the medium size and medium vibrations. Those with more experience are probably not going to be all that impressed by this one.

Material / Texture

This toy is made of jelly, which is going to turn a lot of people off right off the bat, since jelly is porous and can't be sterilized. On the plus side, the material has a soft, velvety smooth texture that feels nice against the skin.

Although I wouldn't quite rate the odor of this toy as "strong", it definitly qualifies for "strong enough to be annoying odor". I left it out of the packaging for a few days after it arrived, hoping that some airing out would help, but it still had the same level of smell two days later. After a few uses and several washings, it still smells, and if you hold it for too long, that smell transfers to your hands.

Design / Shape / Size

The shape of this toy was a big part of what drew me to it. Although it is on the small to medium side in terms of length and girth (5" of insertable length, 4 1/4" around), the curved head is quite realistic, and the sort of spiraling-shaped shaft adds some variety to the shape without the discomfort that sometimes comes with more exaggerated shapes. The fairly small size and low price make this a good beginner toy, but I think there's better quality out there for about the same price that would be a better bet as a first toy.

The stand-out design feature is that the shaft of the Flexi Rabbit is, as the name implies, flexible. The shaft can bend back and forth, as illustrated in the pictures on the product info page. Although the photo just shows it bending backwards, you can bend it forward or back, side to side, basically any direction. I found that if I bent it and then inserted it, though, it didn't really hold its shape. The flexibility came in handier once the toy was already inserted, since it lets you customize just how it hits you and where.

Functions / Performance / Controls

I found the controls for the Flexi Rabbit a little confusing. The base of the toy looks like you should turn it to change settings, but you actually control them via a single push button on the bottom. One press of the button turns the toy on to a fast pulsing vibration, another push of the button changes it to a slower pulse. A third press of the button gives you a pattern of two quick vibrations and then a short pause before two more. The last setting is a steady, medium-powered vibration, and a final press of the button turns it off. I like that you have a variety of patterns, but it seems weird not to have any variety in the strength of the vibrations, since they're all pretty medium powered. I'm also not a huge fan of having to scroll through all of the patterns to turn it off, I prefer a separate on/off button, but it's not that big of a deal.

All of the vibration patterns are pretty quiet, similar to (maybe a bit louder than) a vibrating cell phone. A blanket or some music will drown out almost all of the sound.

One kind of weird design flaw is that the vibrations in this toy are located in the head of the insertable portion, not the external rabbit-shaped clit stimulator. Unlike his hard-working contemporaries, this bunny just kind of hangs out in the general area of your clit and watches the action. Although some of the vibrations carry down the shaft to the rabbit, in my experience they weren't enough to do all that much (think 1 on the vroom scale). I know preferences vary, but I'd much rather have a clit stimulator that actually vibrates than internal vibrations. What's the point of a non-buzzy bunny? I'm still scratching my head over that one.

This toy runs on 2 AAA batteries, which are easily inserted into the base of the shaft by unscrewing a cap. There are handy stickers inside to show you which way to put them in. This is a waterproof toy- it passed the good old-fashioned "toss the vibrator in the sink" test with no water getting into the battery compartment.

Care and Maintenance

Jelly can't be sterilized, so be sure to use condoms if you plan to share this toy. It can be kept clean with warm water and soap, a toy cleaner, or a combination of the two. I prefer to give it a good spraying down with toy cleaner and then rinse with warm water. Be sure to take the time to carefully clean the grooves from the swirly shaft design, since lube and fluids like to collect there. The material does give you the freedom to use either water or silicone based lube.

Packaging

The Flexi Rabbit comes in a plastic clamshell-style container that is molded to fit its shape. This can be used to store the toy, but I found it too bulky. The insert in the package advertises the flexible spine and 4 kinds of vibrations, and is decorated with a bored-looking cartoon woman. (Or maybe she's just grumpy at the rabbit for not vibrating?) At least it's more discreet than the naked chick packaging I've gotten so much of lately.

I'm actually a little stumped on how to store this. I threw away the packaging because it was too bulky for my toy drawer, but the toy is stinking up the drawer being out in the open. I may have to invest in one of the toy pouches EdenFantasys carries to help mask the smell.

Experience

It took me a lot longer than usual to get around to writing this review because I just couldn't make up my mind about how I felt about this toy. If we could give half stars, I'd give this a three and a half. I must be a way harsher critic than most, since the other 3 reviewers so far have given this a solid 5 stars each. I like the idea behind the design, and think it is aesthetically pleasing, but the smell, low power and lack of external vibrations make this a hard toy for me to get very excited about. That said, it isn't an awful toy, it's pretty decent for the price. I'd say this is worth buying if you don't mind jelly and just want an extra vibrator to add some variety to your collection, but if you're on a budget or only plan on having a few great toys, this is one to skip.
Follow-up commentary
I actually kind of forgot that I had this toy, and just came across it when I was doing some organizing of the goody drawers. For some reason, digging it out of the drawer to move to a new location really unleashed its jelly smell again, and I can still smell it in the air even an hour later, even though it was only out for a few minutes. Yuck!

There doesn't appear to be any deterioration over time, which makes sense since I don't think I have used this more than once since I reviewed it. The smell, however, is such a big turn off that I am thinking about just throwing this one away. There are so many better rabbits out there, not to mention several in my fairly limited collection, so I don't really see a lot of use in keeping such a stinky one around.

Loved this review! This is a really pretty toy. strange that there's not a bullet in the bunny. Never saw one like that before. I wish it'd have been more satisfying for you, but I can see how it would be a tough one to like. I enjoyed your review! I too have noticed tons of naked lady packaging lately! Lol. I like the descrete stuff. Lovely review, dear!

Thanks for the review! The appeal of the flexibility and the low price point had me intrigued about this vibe but your comments re: the material and the lack of ooomph in the bunny ears helped me realize that this is not a vibe for me.
