The three words that best describe you are as follows, and I quote...

Stink, stank, stunk. Okay, so maybe I've been watching How The Grinch Stole Christmas too much, but seriously, the lo was a letdown. I was anxious to give this "mini massager" a try but it just didn't work out for me. For the quality of vibrations and material, I'd say it's overpriced. The only thing that makes this a "luxury" vibrator is the silicone sleeves.

Use

The lo is a new mini massager from Jopen’s much anticipated new Key line. It is meant to be used as a clitoral vibrator and an erogenous zone stimulator. It can be used vaginally but it does not offer much in the way of girth or length. It is not designed for g-spot stimulation so I doubt many women would find this suitable for g-spot play. This mini massager can not be used anally. There is no long handle and no base whatsoever. If you wish to use this to stimulate the outside of the anus, be sure to take caution. With the included silicone sleeves, this vibrator can be used three different ways. You can use this with the smooth sleeve, the textured sleeve, or without a sleeve at all.

This vibrator can go anywhere with you, assuming you remove the batteries. It’s not realistic or phallic in shape but it’s still obvious as a small vibrator, so it’s not the most discreet vibrator to travel with. If you don’t mind traveling with a vibrator, it has its own storage pouch so you can toss it in your purse, backpack, or luggage and the lo can keep you company wherever you may go. Just make sure you take the batteries out; I’ve never met such a touchy power button. It is waterproof so feel free to take the lo along with you in the shower or bathtub. I’ve used this in the shower numerous times and I have not found any water in the battery area.

The lo has a one year limited warranty that will cover any manufacturer defect.

Material / Texture

The lo is made of three materials. The bullet style vibrator itself is made of ABS plastic. ABS plastic is firm, rigid, and smooth to the touch. There is no drag from the vibrator itself. Plastic is non-porous so it will not harbor any nasty bacteria. The plastic has no smell or taste associated with it. The plastic on the bullet feels really cheap to me. It’s really lightweight and cheap feeling; it reminds me of a plastic I’d find on a $5 kids toy. I’ve had $15 vibrators that had more durable feeling plastic than this.

Each sleeve is made of silicone. I did flame test these sleeves so they are 100% silicone. Silicone is completely body safe. It is non-porous, hypoallergenic, latex free, and phthalate free. It’s suitable for sharing since it can be disinfected. The silicone on these sleeves is really smooth and supple. It’s almost buttery smooth, but not quite that smooth. It does feel really luxurious though. For silicone sleeves, there’s really not as much drag as one would expect and they’re not big lint magnets. The sleeves do have a slight “new plastic” smell, even after washing.

The button on the top of the bullet is a stainless steel alloy.

Design / Shape / Size

The lo is a bullet style vibrator that slides into one of two silicone sleeves. It can be used without a sleeve if you prefer plastic. The sleeves do not add any measurable amount of length or girth. The bullet has a very rounded tip so it is not useful for pinpoint stimulation. The lo is 4.25” long, all of which could be insertable, but I would recommend using only 3.75” for insertion. At the tip, it is 3.25” in circumference, 1.15” in diameter. The bullet narrows as it goes up towards the battery cap. At the narrowest point of the neck, it is 3” in circumference, 1” in diameter.

Size comparison

One sleeve is completely smooth and devoid of texture. It glides over skin effortlessly. The other sleeve features six rows of raised nubs that swirl up over the back side of the sleeve. The nubs are easily felt in use, especially if the lo is being ran over skin. When the sleeves are on the bullet, they fit really loosely. I found that they slide and twist over the bullet in use. When the lo is inserted, they slide off the bullet completely. This makes it easy to switch sleeves but it’s also a big pain in the ass during use.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The lo runs on one AA battery, so it is not very strong. It is operated by a single push button on the top of the battery cap. The button is incredibly sensitive! This thing will turn on at the slightest touch. This can be annoying in use. To turn the lo off, press and hold the power button for three seconds. There is no memory in the lo, it will restart on steady vibrations if you turn it off. There are 5 different functions on the lo. There is only one (yes, only one) power level and four patterns. According to the insert, the patterns include a “high 2” which I find to be like a very fast pulse, tease (escalating power level), slow pulse, and throb (two high level pulses, three low level pulses). I’ve never been a big fan of patterns and these ones are no different. I like steady, rumbly vibrations and unfortunately, lo doesn’t really deliver. These vibrations are a low 3 vrooms and really buzzy. They’re also a high 2 bees/low 3 bees in volume. Maybe I’m spoiled by my Salsa, but these vibrations just won’t cut it for me.

Care and Maintenance

To clean the lo, remove the sleeve and wash the bullet with soap and water or your favorite toy cleaner. It’s important to remove the sleeve so body fluids or lube that found their way under the sleeve don’t dry and get all nasty between the plastic and the silicone. The sleeves can be cleaned with soap and water, a 10% bleach solution, or your favorite toy cleaner. They can also be boiled for 3 minutes to disinfect and sanitize them. If you are planning on sharing the lo, remember to disinfect the sleeves between partners if you do not use a condom. Be sure to dry the plastic bullet and the silicone sleeves completely before storing.

Because the sleeves are silicone, be sure to use only water based lubricants with the lo. Silicone lube and silicone sleeves do not get along well. If you do not plan on using the sleeves, it is okay to use silicone lube on the plastic bullet.

Packaging

The lo came in a black cardboard box with a blue cardboard sleeve over it. The sleeve slides off of the box and the box opens like a book. Inside of the box is a foam insert where the lo and the two sleeves lay. Under the foam insert is the directions and information for the toy, along with the storage bag. Make sure you don’t forget to grab that bag!

Inside box

The box isn’t discreet but it is really classy. There are pictures of the lo on the front and the back, along with descriptions and information about the lo. It’s suitable for gift giving as long as the recipient wouldn’t be easily embarrassed.

Now, that storage bag is an added bonus, I guess, so I can’t be too upset about it. However, it barely fits the bullet (with a sleeve on) and the spare sleeve. It’s made of really cheap material. It’s the kind of cheap, stiff material you find on $20 Halloween costumes that just scream “HEY! I’m a Wal-Mart costume!” It does have a drawstring closure, which feels like cheap ribbon. My drawstring closure also came with some white gunk stuck on it. It looks like gum. I guess the bag keeps my lo clean and separated from everything else in my toy box, but would some nicer fabric have been that much trouble?

Experience

I originally chose this over the Nyx because I loved the idea of having two interchangeable sleeves. Once I put batteries in this and turned it on, I was disappointed. This vibrator was a big letdown. The vibrations were just too weak and way too buzzy for me. I found myself reaching for another toy after a few minutes because the lo just frustrated me. I prefer deep, rumbly vibrations, pinpoint stimulation, and a variety of power levels for steady vibrations. The lo doesn’t offer any of those. The sleeves never stay put and the button is so sensitive I’d constantly change settings. I haven’t even tried to use this with my partner because I don’t even like using it solo. As I said earlier, maybe I’m just spoiled by my new Salsa. Like many of you, I was really excited for Jopen’s Key line. However, I really feel the lo is not worth the $50 it’s selling for. Maybe $20-$30. I decided on a 2 star rating because I do really like the idea of two interchangeable sleeves. That’s about the only good thing.
