Mood fantastic - massager by Doc Johnson - review by Airen Wolf

The Mood Fantastic by Doc Johnson is a wand type massager that is also rechargeable. It is meant to be used for massaging muscles as well as erogenous zones. Though it may be too powerful for sensitive clitorises the rounded head of the toy is perfect for vibrating the whole area and can lead to a powerful orgasm that is totally different that the usual clitoral orgasm.
This is a massager and not meant for internal use.

As you can see this is a rechargeable massager and it's very elegant looking.

This toy is perfect for users who need something more than just a sex toy or who need some serious vibration to excite the nerves of the clitoris. This can be used darn near anywhere except in water. It's not going to make anyone think sex toy automatically so it can travel with you without raising too many eyebrows! It also means that you don't have to hide it as much if you have kids or parents.

The Mood Fantastic is composed of a very firm but silky smooth version of TPR. The head of the toy is made from a softer more flexible TPR and the body is as firm as hard plastic but still has the textural feel of TPR. There is a band of aluminum just under the the thumb wheel controller. The interrupter button is also made of aluminum.

This toy has a mild rubber smell that is not at all offensive nor is it noticeable unless you put the toy up to your nose and really try to smell something. It has no discernible taste.

The toy is super smooth, especially when lubed. There are 5 ridges on the head of the toy in circles around the sides. These ridges provide just a bit more stimulation to the areas targeted but they don't add so much stimulation that sensitive users will be unable to use it.

This toy really doesn't have any features that would be for "beginners" or "advanced users". It is highly intuitive and only requires the ability to plug it in every so often! It doesn't pick up lint but it is still slightly porous. This should be kept in mind should it be used in intimate areas as a condom won't easily fit over the head of the toy.

The Mood Fantastic by Doc Johnson is one of the nicest body massagers I have have the pleasure to use. The head of the toy is 5.5 inches around and is 2 inches across. The entire toy only measures 10.5 inches long and at it's widest point measures 6 inches around. There is a seam on either side of the body of the toy from under the neck of the toy to the aluminum band. it doesn't gather fluids as it's pretty well protected by the larger flange of the head of the toy.
The Fantastic is turned on by a thumb wheel on the side of the toy just above the aluminum band. There is an aluminum button on the left side of the thumb wheel that interrupts the vibration and causes a pulsing pattern as long as the button is being pushed.

On the right side of the thumb wheel there is the charging port which is covered with a TPR plug. There is a red LED light that lights up when the toy is turned on and well charged.


The head of the toy is smooth and rounded so that it provides slightly diffused vibrations to a wider area than a more pinpoint vibrator will. This toy can stimulate large muscle groups as well as the whole vaginal area! The neck of the toy is very flexible but not so flexible that it feels flimsy.

The Fantastic doesn't scream sex toy though with the advent of the Hitachi craze not too many people are going to be fooled into thinking that this is just a massager. Still it is rather small and slim and can be stored in an underwear drawer, bedside table, or even in a plastic tub under the bed.

The Fantastic arrives fully charged and I have yet to run mine down despite hours of play. When the massager is plugged in there is a blue LED light that lets the user know it is charging.

The Mood Fantastic is a traditional turn based vibrator that is operated by a thumb wheel. The vibrations are vigorous and easily felt even on the lowest settings and they ratchet up to incredibly powerful and clit numbing at the highest speed. The vibrations are deep and low pitched but still felt most easily on the surface of the toy. The vibrations can be felt throughout the toy but not with the intensity that is felt in the head of the toy. This toy will vibrate in your hand but will not cause your palms to become sensitized or numb.

The Fantastic also offers a pulsation effect if you press the silver aluminum button to the left of the thumb wheel. This is an interrupt feature so if you let off the pressure on the button the straight vibrations resume. The intensity and speed of the pulses speeds up as you up the intensity of the vibrations using the thumb wheel. It can be a bit frustrating to use the interrupt feature during sex play but during a simple muscle massage it is amazing. When muscle fibers grab onto each other sometimes the best thing to do is use percussion and I have found that an interrupted pulsation can relax a knotted muscle easier than even straight drawing strokes.

The thumb wheel is ergonomic and easy to locate in the dark. It won't move it's position easily during play by being bumped. The interrupter button is a bit more problematic but still a fun little feature.
The massager is deep and rumbly but not loud. It will probably be heard by a person sleeping int he room with you but it is not likely that it would be heard outside a closed bedroom door.

This is not a waterproof toy so it should be washed very carefully. Hot water and soap will do just fine, but you could also wipe it down with a cotton ball soaked in alcohol or peroxide. A commercial toy cleaner and a careful rinse will work just as well.

The package the toy arrives in is perfect for storing the toy but it can just as easily be stored in a drawer, bedside table or a toy box. I wouldn't recommend storing this toy where it could get jostled around and bump against other toys.

This is a TPR toy so it can be used with any form of lube the user desires without damaging the toy. I would use any lube sparingly as it will cause a giant mess if more than just a few drops are used! The surface of the head of the toy gets super slick with just a drop or two of lube.

The packaging for this toy is very elegant and entirely suitable for storing the massager. The Fantastic sits in a thin, molded plastic shell that protects it from bumps and scrapes. The charging cord sits in a little tray at the top of the plastic shell; keeping it neat, tidy and accessible.
The outer box is made of light cardboard and isn't terribly larger than the plastic shell. It is black with some lovely curlicues and brightly colored dots. The writing is in white and only states "Mood Fantastic".
On the back of the box you learn that the dots represent different features offered by toys in the Mood line. The information tells us that the Mood Fantastic offers: 1 touch pulse, velvet finish, multi-functions, and is rechargeable. It is made of plastic and TPR that is latex free, and should be cleaned with soap and water. The packaging also indicates that water, silicone and oil based lubes are fine to use with this toy!

The packaging is very informative and also 100% recyclable!
