There is no magic in this wand.

This intriguingly textured toy really shines as a clitoral stimulator, unfortunately it falls short everywhere else. The "love nubs" combined with the surprisingly powerful micro-bullet give a 1-2 punch that's better suited as an appetizer rather than the main course.

The California Exotics Magic Slim Precious Paddle, aside from having a long and silly name is in fact a long-ish and rather silly vibrator. First and foremost, it stinks, literally reeks of nail polish remover. It took 3 washes in hot water and antibacterial soap to get the scent to a non-offensive level and then after a day or so of being stored in it's original packaging the smell had returned full force. I then tried storing it just in a cloth bag, which helped some, but it still smells funky. Luckily the stench doesn't transfer to anything. The toy itself is about 8 inches long, 6 and some change of that are actually insertable. It's shaped rather uniquely, the top of the toy which contains a micro-bullet is about the size and shape of my thumb with “love nubs” covering the pad, it then flutes out to a girth of about 4 1/2” circumference at the base which contains the battery housing. It's made of TPE which isn't the most rigid of materials, slightly stiffer than “jelly” material, and since the only thing inside the vibrator is the wire attached to the micro-bullet, it's rather, well, limp. Yet another downside to the TPE, in addition to smelling foul and being a bit floppy, it scuffs easily, so instead of smooth, shiny and glossy, you have dull patches that can collect bacteria, and since this toy can't be sterilized that's a big problem for me. It is compatible with water and silicone based lubricants.

The toy it's self is solidly constructed, it appears to be made by suspending the micro-bullet and it's wire in the mold which is then filled with TPE. This makes the toy rather resilient and I didn't notice any air bubbles or pockets in mine, and when I tugged on the top to see if it would separate from the bullet it snapped right back snug as you like. The battery housing is my favorite part of this toy, and I find that rather depressing in and of itself, but honestly it's really inventive. The rounded pushbutton base unscrews and a little idiot proof cartridge that contains the 2 AAA batteries required slides out. How is it idiot proof you ask? Well it will only slide in the way it's supposed to and is clearly labeled “insert this way only”. The cap screws on over this and it can be a little tricky getting all the little metal contacts lined up correctly, my first time going to use it took me about 3 or 4 times of screwing and unscrewing the cap before I got it on right. It is fantastically waterproof and survived both a shower and full submersion in a tub with no ill effect.

The mighty little micro-bullet in this toy has three rather impressive vibration levels:
setting 1- strong cellphone/pager
setting 2- electric toothbrush(comparable to my OralB)
setting 3- camera motor when the film is re-winding (for those of you who still know what actual film is in this digital age)
Despite the power this vibrator can put out it's PDQ(pretty damn quiet) even on it's highest setting. I couldn't hear it over the sound of the shower and barely heard it when it was under a blanket so it gets points for being stealthy. Even at it's highest level of intensity the vibrations are not so strong as to be unpleasant so this would work well for someone who is new to vibrators. I found the vibrations combined with the “love nub” texture to be very pleasing when used teasingly outside over the nipples, and across the labia/clit. Inserting it is a bit tricky since it's not very rigid, but the curve to it does make g-spot stimulation possible, unfortunately because of it's lack of rigidity I couldn't seem to apply enough pressure to go from “whooo” to “gush”.

This toy is not suitable for anal, penetration, I advise against this for several reasons. First, it's not sterilizable, and if I can't boil it, bleach it, or stick it in an autoclave, it's not going in my special no-no place. Second, it's just not rigid enough for an easy insertion, I didn't even bother trying as I knew from experience with toys of similar rigidity it would just be an exercise in frustration.

It's packaged in a vac formed clamshell case with a little insert that has a brief highlight of the toy's features and some standard cheesy artwork, nothing terribly offensive. You could use the packaging for storage but as I said earlier you'll have to deal with amplified stench. It's also glaringly obvious that this is a sex toy, sorry “adult novelty” and therefore unless your mom is really open minded no using it as coffee table art.
Experience
Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with this toy, it's pretty looking, and yes, I really liked the little nubby things. It makes a fantastic clit stimulator, but that's about it and there are many toys on the market for that, which are not only easier to manipulate, don't have that g-d awful smell. I'd recommend this to someone new to toys who wants something that whisper quiet that they can bring into the bathroom with them.
Follow-up commentary
Months later and it still has retained the horrid smell. I honestly don't use this toy because the sensations it delivers just aren't "wowing" enough to deal with the smell/crappy material.

The cartridge wasn't idiot-proof enough for me.
