This Butterfly Bites

I wish I could give this product a great review. I really wanted to, but it just wasn't very good for me. I never did achieve an orgasm with this product, and instead had some irritation from it.

Use

This toy is meant to stimulate the clitoris, be hands free, and wearable. I really didn't find that it did any of them, except that you could wear it. I can't really imagine a time in which it would be worth wearing though.

Material / Texture

The butterfly is made of thermoplastic rubber, or TPR. I didn't find there to be any strange smells or really a smell of any sort. The straps are made of purple elastic with white plastic hooks that you hook into the loops at the end of the other side of each strap. There were also some small metal brads on the straps as well. The removable bullet is silver plated with a rubber push button to turn it on and off.

The TPS is shaped like a butterfly with a beak, and an oddly shaped tail. Both the beak and the tail are meant to provide added stimulation, but at least for me, it missed the mark. The "belly" of the butterfly is ribbed, but that also didn't seem to do much of anything. The wings of the butterfly just seem to be there for aesthetics and to connect the straps to the butterfly.

Design / Shape / Size

The beak and tail of the butterfly are supposed to provide stimulation points, but they were pretty useless for me. I didn't find that they made any difference at all.

The straps are very adjustable, and seem like they would fit a large range of sizes. One strap goes around the waist and there are two other straps, one for each thigh. It seemed a little awkward at first. I had a hard time getting the butterfly itself to sit against my clitoris, so I ended up holding it there, even so it didn't make much difference. The toy is not very discreet, though I suppose you MIGHT be able to wear it under a dress. Definitely not with pants, I would imagine it would shift terribly if you tried to wear it for any period of time, and because it really didn't seem very powerful I don't know that it would be a good thing to pack on a trip, it just didn't get the job done.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The vibrations on this butterfly are located in a bullet inside the body of the butterfly. I was disappointed with the lack of power, lack of multiple speeds, and the strange fit of this toy. Because of the odd fit the butterfly did not sit where I assume it should have, and sat closer to the top of my pubic area. Because it is fairly useless for me, I did not try it in water, though it supposedly is waterproof.

Care and Maintenance

I store this in the box, though I doubt I will actually be keeping the butterfly itself. I may keep the bullet, but it really is not that great in itself either. I did find that the material itself was somewhat irritating, and caused me some discomfort for about a day after using. I am not allergic to TPR, and I cleaned it with my normal toy cleaner, so I am not sure what happened.

Because the butterfly is made of TPR it is compatible with silicone or water-based lubricants. I use toy cleaner to sterilize it, but it seems pretty hard to destroy no matter how you clean it.

Packaging

The toy is packaged in a box, there were NO instructions in the package at all. At first the straps looked confusing to me, but after I started trying to put it on it became fairly clear as to how it was meant to be used.

The box is NOT very nice, so I would not use it as a gift box. I am not sure how long the box will hold up as a storage box, but if you don't abuse it you could use it that way for a while, I would think.

Personal comments

All in all, I was not impressed with the Wireless Venus Butterfly. It did not place the vibrations anywhere near my clitoris, and even holding it there didn't work all that well. I was so disappointed in this, I would not recommend it to anyone.

Experience

When I pulled this product out of the packaging I looked for instructions and found none at all. After fidgeting around with the straps for a while I finally got the butterfly on in what I assume is the correct way. It nestled itself into my pubic hair instead of near my clitoris. I attempted to readjust the straps, but could not get it near where it should have been. I ended up taking it completely off and holding it against myself. Even so the vibrations were fairly low, and there is only one speed. I tried taking the butterfly off of the vibrator, and just using the bullet. Though it felt slightly better, it really wasn't all that powerful. In the end I just gave up on it.
Follow-up commentary
I never did get this to sit right, and the vibe just didn't cut it. It ended up just taking up room in the pleasure chest so we got rid of it.

This looked scary and unreliable when I looked at it. I'm glad to know my instincts were right, thank you! Great stuff.
