This Capricorn likes the Virgo!
FunFactory has a stand up product here at an amazing price ]. With proper care, this toy will last for years.Published: February 2, 2012
Pros:
Unique design, rotating head, vibrating shaft, easy to clean
Cons:
louder than average, rotating head gets in the way with clit only stimulation
First off, I really dig silly names for vibes. I mean, come on--sex is funny. So when I saw that FunFactory had a line of vibrators based on the zodiac (astrovibes) I had to look them over.
The Virgo looks like a mermaid to me. The looks weren't the selling point though. Oh no sir, the Virgo seems like a pretty standard vibrator. Until you turn it on. The speed is controlled by a dial on the base. I never had a problem of changing the dial by accident at the wrong time. The body of Virgo vibrates along the length of the toy. The breasts of the Virgo have intense vibration and are great for clit stimulation all on their own without penetration. Then there is the head of the Virgo. The head rotates around and around at the same speed as the vibrations. When inserted vaginally, the head sort of massages the G spot. It's not a heavy rough sort of massage that some G spot vibes give, but more like a gentle "come hither" sort of massage/rubbing sensation.
A little note about those breasts. The breasts of the Virgo seem to be where the vibrations are the most powerful. The toy brought me to orgasm just based on this alone, however the rotating head became cumbersome and slightly off putting rotating over my perineum.
The Virgo requires 2 AA batteries to provide you hours of orgasms. The toy is silicone, and should only be used with a water based lubricant. FunFactory includes a sample of water based lube to get you started. There is enough lube in the sample packet for two, maybe three uses.
This vibe is probably one of the loudest that I own. It doesn't sound like a vibrator. It sounds more like a machine that is grinding something up. The noise seems to get worse with batteries that are low, and as the toy ages.
Cleaning is a breeze because there aren't any nooks or crannies for lube or fluids to get stuck into. This vibe isn't waterproof though, so use caution when cleaning it. I would recommend using a toy cleaner spray or wipe because you don't want to accidentally get water into the battery compartment!

Has anyone else had this problem with the Astrovibes?

I have been having an issue with the dial on this toy since, like, the second time I used it. It's currently my only real vibrator, other than my bullets (I'm really trying to save up to get a good, strong silicone vibrator). So being that it is kind of all I have right now, that makes it even more frustrating. I'll just copy & paste what I said in my follow-up review for my Virgo:
"I still like this vibe, BUT I do have one big issue with it! I noticed upon it's second use that there is an issue with the dial. There is still some room for it to turn after being turned to the strongest vibrations. The issue with this is that it doesn't keep vibrating, it turns off! I have a big issue with this being that I use this while laying on my stomach, so the dial can be turned the slightest bit from rubbing against the sheets and then it shuts off completely and I have to turn it back. It can be frustrating. I have considered trying to contacting the company about this issue to see if maybe they could replace it, or if it is an issue with all of them and not just mine, but since I went through my toys and got rid of all of the non-silicone toys I am worried I would be left without a vibrator for a while."
So is it just me? What should I do about it? Do you think I should contact the company, and if so what could happen?

very nice review, thank you dear!
Nice review. Ugg on the noise level. I need to be more discreet than that.
