This Flower Packs a Punch

Lovely Calla, you have lived up to my expectations, and then some! I was attracted first because of the design, but the strong rumble and excellent performance keep me coming back. If rabbit vibrators haven't worked for you in the past, this one might do the trick. I would easily recommend this to beginners and advanced toy lovers!

Use

I have a serious love of calla lilies, so I had to have this vibrator. The fact that it's a calla was it's initial appeal, but it has proven it's worth. It is one of the strongest vibrators I have tried, with an amazing deep rumble. The fact that it's silicone makes it very body safe. Also, it's completely waterproof. This flower has some amazingly good qualities, and will work for a lot of people. The shape will work to hit the g-spot for a lot of people, and the clitoral disc makes it a rabbit that will suit a wide range. The Calla is not recommended for anal play, but I suppose if you wanted to try, you could. The large clitoral disc would prevent it from being pulled too far in.

When thrust vaginally, this gradual increase in diameter provides a nice stretching sensation. The slight amount of texture from the curves and bumps feels great, and the deep rumble provides intense vibration. You could also use this toy externally. The small bent tip is a nice shape for clitoral stimulation.

I love taking this toy in the bath, and it works very well for partner play. The innovative handle and easy to use controls are beyond compare. This has become one my favorite toys!

Material / Texture

The Calla is made from silicone and plastic. The handle with the controls is hard plastic, and the insertable portion is made of silicone. The Calla is body safe, non-porous, phthalates and latex free, hypo-allergenic, and food-grade material. I will say that I was surprised by the texture of the silicone itself. It has a rough, almost sandpaper, texture in some spots. There is a great deal of drag if you slide your finger over the surface of the toy. Any folds or indents have a rougher texture than the flat portions. I didn't notice the rough texture while I was using it, so it isn't really a negative feature. The insertable portion doesn't have any raised or pronounced nubs or ridges, so it isn't a toy that provides the sensation of texture. There is little to no smell to the material, and no taste to speak of. The silicone isn't sticky, it has a matte surface. It does tend to collect lint and hair, as the rough texture holds on to things. There is some flexibility to the toy, but only for the first 2 inches of the shaft and the disc at the base. The widest portion of the shaft cannot be bent, and the handle is hard plastic and inflexible.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

The insertable portion of the Calla is a cone shape with a bent tip. The entire vibrator measures around 7.5" in length. I would say the size of the insertable cone is average in diameter, but on the shorter side when it comes to length. The cone portion increases in diameter as it approaches the base, with a maximum circumference of about 5.5". The increase comes from gentle slopes and curves to mimic a flower. At the base of the cone, there is a stylized disc shape that stimulates the clit, which extends away from the toy at a right angle. It is just shy of 1.75" wide and about 1" long. Because it is not a skinny clitoral arm or animal shape, it should be compatible with a larger percentage of women. You can really grind against it, and the vibrations are felt very strongly throughout the disc. I've not been a rabbit vibrator lover in the past, but this one works very well for me.

The handle of this toy is a marvel of design. The finger loop is comfortable to hold for long periods of time, and your hand will not tire or grow numb. When you place your hand around the handle, the buttons respond and light up so you can see the controls if you happen to be in the dark!

Although the Calla is a far cry from a traditional or realistic vibrator, I wouldn't call it discreet either. I think it's fairly obvious what it is intended for, and I wouldn't recommend leaving it out on your coffee table or taking it on a plane.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The controls of the Calla are very user friendly. There are three buttons: a plus, a minus and a star. Holding the plus for a few seconds turns it on. Pressing the plus again cycles you through the levels of intensity. I was wide eyed the first time I turned the Calla on, as the intensity is amazingly strong on the higher levels. There are 5 in all. Pressing the minus button will cycle you down through the levels.

The star button is the boost button, which will cycle you through the patterns. You can press the star button on any of the five intensity levels, and it will change to a pattern but remain on the intensity setting you started with. The patterns consist of three different speeds of pulse and a rolling pulse. I'm not a pattern person myself, so I tend to stick with the steady settings when using this toy.

The vibrations themselves transfer very well throughout the entire toy. The disc and the tip seem to provide the strongest vibrations, which is just how it should be! The Calla is very quiet considering how much power it provides. I'd say that you wouldn't be able to hear it through a closed door no matter what setting you are using. It is completely waterproof and submergable. After multiple trips to my bathtub, it is still going strong.

The Calla uses the Fun Factory Click and Charge technology. The plug in adaptor has a magnetic disc that attaches to the toy. On the handle of the Calla is a small "fun" logo, and you simply hold the charger disc close to that spot and it clicks right on. When it's charging, the wording on the disc glows red. Be aware that it can be a little tricky to get it to stay charging. If the disc gets shifted it may lose it's connection, so be sure to put it somewhere it won't be bumped while it's charging. On the higher settings, my fully charged Calla can last up to 45 minutes. It will last longer on the lower settings.

Care and Maintenance

With most silicone toys, clean up is very easy. You would think the fact that the Calla is waterproof would mean that clean up would be a snap. I found clean up to be a pain in the neck. The texture and lovely lines of the Calla trap bodily fluids. As if that wasn't enough, after cleaning the toy and allowing it to dry I nearly always find some soap residue in one of the grooves. So, you must be very careful when cleaning the Calla. It means an attention to detail.

You can use a mild soap and water or a toy cleaner to clean the Calla. Because it has a motor, you can't boil to sterilize or place this toy in the dishwasher. You should avoid using silicone lubes to avoid a negative reaction with the silicone of the toy. Any water based lube can be used with the Calla. You may need quite a bit of lube because of the rougher texture of the silicone.

The Calla can be stored in the box it came in, or without it. Take care, when storing it, that it isn't touching other silicone toys to avoid damage to them.

Packaging

The Calla is packaged in a very thoughtful way. There is an outer sleeve, and an inner box. On the outer sleeve, the toy is pictured (life size) on the front and sides. The outer sleeve also notes that the toy is made of silicone, has multiple speeds, and is a vibrator. Inside the inner box, there is the toy itself, the charger and the instruction booklet. Those items are held in place with cardboard spacers and support pieces, so that the toy doesn't move around when boxed up. I was slightly disappointed in the paperwork that came with this toy, as it's mostly pictographic representations of the controls, with no written out instructions. Just the same, this toy is easy enough to figure out that I can get over that.

Experience

This toy fits me perfectly. The strong rumble is amazing, and the versatile design is aesthetically pleasing. While other vibrators might be bigger or have more options, this is the one I reach for. Whether I use it solo, or as my partner goes down on me, it never fails to bring me orgasms over and over. I confess that while I loved this toy before it ever came to my house because I'm a huge fan of the calla lily, I was blown away by how satisfying this little flower can be!
Follow-up commentary
If there was a "still love it" button, I would click it. This is easily one of my all time favorites. It's powerful and fits my body well. No issues, no complaints.

Like your detail about the clot arm. Not a big fan of rabbits either I like the way you describe the rumbly vibrations and the wide dispersal of vibrations with the arm.
