Great review! I've been thinking about getting this, but I wouldn't be able to use it often since it's so loud and I rarely get the house to myself. I've noticed the same charging noise with the Pocket Fairy if I charge it while I'm trying to sleep.

ok, that noise issue scares me, not sure my dog would appreciate it. Would love to find a hitachi like wand though as for some reason they tend to blow up in Australia (even if you use the right transformers etc)

Weird - I have the Rechargeable Fairy and find it much less bothersome in the noise department than the Horrid Hitachi, as I call it. I've also never heard the whining sound while charging that you mentioned, not with any of the 4 various rechargeable Fairy products I've had. I guess my ears must be broken or something. Also, I've found my Rechargeable Fairy's charge tends to last closer to 40+ minutes and it does work while charging. I just feel blessed I've had such amazing luck with the Fairys, seeing as how I know many people have a terrible time getting them to hold a charge. Le sigh, I think these are just weird, unpredictable, erratic toys and no one person's experience can necessarily be judged against another's. For instance, I threw away my Hitachi one I got this. Then again, I'd kinda gotten to the point where I detested the thing anyway, but that's another story. Anyway, excellent review regardless of my vastly differing experience. I HAVE been to a TON of concerts - my brother's a musician/sound mixer/sound engineer and there's an amazing music scene in general where I live, plus I'm a music junkie - so maybe that's the sound thing. Eh, who knows? Different strokes for different folks (pun intended). Great details, great description, great personal account of experience, etc. Thanks for a great review.
