I was so excited when I ordered my New Impulse Rabbit vibrator from WHK GmbH. Having owned one rabbit style vibrator before, with disappointing results, I was looking forward to giving it another shot. The New Impulse looked like it would be perfect for what I was looking for.

When it arrived at my house I was again extremely grateful for the discreet packaging that Edenfantasys uses when they ship, because my sister recently moved in with us and she is innocently oblivious to my growing toy collection. Once I opened the box though I realized the discretion stopped there. The packaging for this toy just screams sex toy, complete with a DD porn star girl on the front.

While the package definitely lets you know it’s a sex toy, that’s about all it told you. It mentioned that the New Impulse is multi-functional and waterproof, and that’s all. It doesn’t tell you how many functions or what size batteries it took. It wasn’t hard to figure out once I opened the toy and looked at it, but it still irritated me that it didn’t tell me on the packaging.

After examining the package, I decided it was time to pull out my new rabbit and give it a thorough examination as well. As soon as I opened the package I was overwhelmed with a STRONG plastic smell. Not a bad smell per se, just not really one I would want involved with a toy. I keep hoping it will go away, but so far it has only managed to stink up my entire toy box. Kind of annoying, but not a deal breaker.

The design of the New Impulse itself is pretty much your basic rabbit vibrator, a main shaft with a rabbit attachment coming off of it. The inner core of this toy is a really nice turquoise blue, while the outer jelly covering is clear. Since this toy is jelly, it is not safe to share unless you cover it with a condom; and it’s compatible with water and silicone lubricants. You can’t sterilize jelly either, so make sure you clean it really well after each use with warm water and toy cleaner or a mild soap. The fact that it’s waterproof really comes in handy when it comes to cleaning.

Once I was through scoping out my New Impulse, I decided it was time to turn it on and check out the power on this baby. I found two AA batteries, inserted them into the casing, and went to turn it on. To turn it on there is a little button on the end, that you also use to switch settings. Each push of the button brings you to a new vibration and strength.

The first three are straight vibrations in a low, medium and high, followed by 7 different vibration patterns, including one that is pulsing and one that escalates up and down. With 10 total settings, I knew this toy would be fun and I couldn’t wait to use it. I grabbed some lube and went to work.

The New Impulse is 5 inches in diameter, which was nice and filling. I loved how the rabbit’s ears tickled my clit through each of the settings. I also liked how you could change the stimulation to the clit by either using just the ears, or by pushing the toy further in and getting a more direct stimulation from the head of the rabbit.

The only downside I could find is that the rabbit piece is a little stiff, making big movement difficult. Also, unlike some other toys with multi-speeds, once you are in the middle of the different vibration patterns, you have to cycle through all the rest of the settings before you can turn it off, whereas others I have used you could just hold down the button until it turned off.

Overall the New Impulse is a good toy. Not a perfect toy for me, but still good. It’s great for those times when you want a little extra stimulation, but you don’t want to use an extra toy to get it. While the smell and stiffness of this toy is a bit off-putting, the different vibration patterns and speeds are absolutely amazing.
