Thumbelina sex toy review

Thumbelina is well made and its vibrations pack a punch. Those wanting to try a dual action vibrator for the first time should consider it as they probably won't be intimidated by its size or design.

I have to admit that I’m not a fan of most dual action vibrators. The idea of masturbating with a rabbit-shaped object weirds me out. I was pleased to see the amorphous design of Thumbelina. The clitoral stimulator resembles a little humming bird but not enough to be creepy. Vibratex, maker of the infamous Rabbit Habit produces Thumbelina, a petite rotating dual action vibrator angled to hit the g-spot.

Thumbelina measures about 1 3/8 inches at its widest point making it a good size for beginners (to dual action toys or sex toys altogether). It’s covered in small nubs and tiny protrusions. They look like they'd be uncomfortable. Because of the soft texture of the elastomer material, it was actually hard to feel the nubs inside of me. I don’t know whether this is a good this or a bad thing. Those who enjoy stimulation from nubs on their toys might be disappointed.

I had two major problems with the Thumbelina. While it was a perfect fit for my vagina and hit my g-spot immediately, the rotation just could not stand up to the strength of my muscles. When I clamped down on the vibrator, the poor thing just kind of gave up and stopped moving inside of me. Eventually, I just turned off the rotation and thrust the vibe myself. On the other hand, I was quite happy with the clitoral stimulator. The stimulator alone brought me to orgasm within just a few minutes. This brings me to the other problem I encountered. Both the rotation and the clit stimulator are very loud. The vibrations are pretty darn powerful, so I wasn’t expecting a silent toy. However, for a relatively small vibrator, the amount of noise produced shocked me.

This vibrator definitely has good features. Thumbelina’s construction is excellent for a mid-priced toy; this is a vibrator of real quality. Vibratex vibrators also have great Japanese motors and the elastomer material conducts vibrations well. But overall, Thumbelina vibrator just wasn't for me because it couldn’t deliver on the rotations and it’s too loud to use when my roommates are home and I want to be discreet.
